1982, looking at most others I feel so young. 😀 *There is a serious point though, we need to bring through younger fans but that is probably for another thread. You'm only a babby, Stu

7th April 1962. Rovers 2-1 Newcastle. We got relegated that season but I was hooked. My dad was a bus conductor, working out of the old Eastville bus depot. So if he had a football special it was for a Rovers game. I can remember being overawed by the rosettes and general atmosphere. The next game I can actually remember seeing Rovers was on St George's Day 1963. It was at the pit and proved to be goalkeeper Esmond Million's and goal scorer on the night, Keith Williams' last game before they were banned for life for being involved in the big bribery scandal of the time. Rovers lost 1-4 But due to my dad being a bus conductor, he had a seat on a bench on the pitch surround for the game, so I was up jumping on the pitch when Rovers scored The official bans were not announced until July of 1963 but Rovers did the honourable thing and suspended the two players ahead of their sentences. EDIT: Rovers 2 goals were scored by 'aaaarrooolddd. He has since informed me that both were headers. Those old enough to remember him playing will know why he would remember such a thing

we keep finding ways to win, despite all the gloom about performances, its a good habit to get in to, pleased Tomlinson had a chance to show what he is capable of despite missing a couple, could be the answer to all our hopes! better that than developing some one else's youngsters, no pressure then Lucas! I think that it is more that we are hard to beat.

Nigel Martin, Jim Eadie and Steve Phillips in that order for me but I think that Bernard Hall would have gone on to better things if he had not suffered his horrendous injury on New year's Eve 1966. It was a totally accidental collision with Middlesbrough's John O'Rourke that came about because of his bravery but sadly ended his career at a young age.

I think Devon White had to go in goal once after a sending off and immediately saved a penalty (I may have imagined this though!) Think it was Ian Alexander and he just booted it clear Not sure why this goalie question has popped up again though I would not say he just booted it clear, he deserves credit for actually getting to the ball to kick it in the first place As I recall it, he shuffled slowly across his goal line, in a strange Chuck Berry "duck walk" fashion, seemingly surprised at how much time he had to reach the feeble effort, trapped it with his feet and THEN he hoofed it.

I would explain that I put the laughing emoticon on your post as I love you calling the dunderheads, "merry arsonists" Yet another very apt naming of those who float. They really do not help themselves anyway, do they? Their choice of sponsor just adds to the many derogatory terms that may be used for them: dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/dunderheadEDIT: Just look at the plethora of synonyms for dunderhead

Static wall & the keeper didn’t move a muscle. LJ will do well to focus on the state of that goal from a defensive point of view, before sniping at the nature of it being scored. A real touch of quality there. Apparently, the red dwarf tells his players not to jump when they are in a wall.

Pretty epic match. Great highlights. I'd like to award OC the prize for the worst celebratory knee-slide ever, take a bow son!
Well done GC and the lads. Absolutely killing it at the moment I reckon it is a toss up between OC and the bloke who scored their 3rd goal

He also seemed most annoyed that he was being asked questions. Why did he accept the interview if he was intent on being so curt? To me, he came across as agitated and flustered, His responses suggested to me that he is not fully aware of any situation involving Rovers. We all see something different ( except on radio ) I heard the interview and heard something completely different to the above. Agree that Marvin said loads without saying anything but if you read between the lines he was clearly IMO stating Bristol CC was involved in some capacity in a deal to get Rovers a stadium within the City boundary. Wether that is the fruit market site or not remains to be seen Wether anything comes to "fruition" remains to be seen but IMO something is still on at the moment. Bristol CC is I believe the largest owner of land within the city boundary and owns land adjacent to the fruit market. As has been stated this island area is ripe for redevelopment so I think there is a bigger picture than just a "sports complex in the offing I would not agree that you heard "completely different" to me. Hence using the word "fully". I agree with feeling there is something going on but I do not think he is fully aware of it or is that much involved in it at this time.

Listening to mayor marvin on rad Bris tonight , seems he's involved with the gas finding a new stadium, sounded like Wael 'can't say to much ect' but he, and the council involved in some way. I bet there will be no car park when and if it's built , but huge great Bike sheds, get training gas heads!!! Shame it wasn't on record (due to copyright), although I'm sure the original is. I caught this and it was fascinating. Said loads but at the same time said nothing at all. I agree, he's involved and trying to keep us in the Bristol City Council area. Thought he was terribly rude as well, he's our mayor not a business leader. It's his job to communicate with his voters. He also seemed most annoyed that he was being asked questions. Why did he accept the interview if he was intent on being so curt? To me, he came across as agitated and flustered, His responses suggested to me that he is not fully aware of any situation involving Rovers.

I think the music being played since Nick retired is absolute rubbish, total garbage.Come back to the mike Nick, you know you want too I think you will find that the same personnel are responsible now and when Nick had the mic. Yes. Lance was Nick's understudy.

Although he couldn't deal with pass backs I remember the first game we played with that rule and he got caught out with that. Away somewhere I think. Yes, at Oxford.

Done.
May I suggest that anyone who donates, posts a message that they have done so? It will bump this post each time, raising the chance of people seeing and acting on it.

If we had got Bromley away i reckon it would have been picked as a tv game. Will not be now, Most people will fancy us to go through. I reckon it may still be picked for TV. Our recent record in the FA Cup has been dire. We have only made the second round once in the last 5 seasons. Even in the season we made round 2, we lost to non-league Barrow at home. With Bromley doing so well, it has the potential for a shock result.

I heard it was Rebekah Vardy. I knew about the injury and decided to post my knowledge on my Instagram account. However, I was aware that other snippets I had posted had been made public knowledge. I therefore blocked all but one person from being able to see my account. It worked: I have now blocked myself as well.
