Every player from what squad went on to play in the top flight, certainly not Gerry Francis squad. Phil Purnell, Vaughn Jones, Boris, Billy Clarke, Parkin, Saunders, Reece, Nixon to name a few that didn't. The point I was trying to make was that a complete balanced team of a to be Premier squad had played for Rovers at Twerton. If only we could have kept them altogether. Nigel Martyn, Tim Cater, keepers John Scales, Nicky Tanner Richard Dryden defenders Ian Holloway, Gary Penrice Devon White midfielders Marcus Stewart, Gareth Taylor, Bob turner Strikers. Can't wait for all the whingers to say they were all crap You do seem to be saying in your original post that all of the 89/90 squad went onto to play Premiership football though, which of course they didn't. Just to be pedantic, I assume you meant ex England player not manager

There is a precedent. Swindon were originally demoted 2 divisions after their misdemeanours in the 90s, although it was then changed to 1 division, meaning they stayed where they were. This of course led to the 'Going up, going down, going up' chant when we played them at their place the following season

A brilliant night, get all the facts Topper mate!. He won the award which was voted by his fellow players. They see what he does for the team on the pitch, off it in the changing room and also in training. A great night, well organised and 77 tables in attendance and them all full. Well done Bristol Rovers tonight, well done Ollie Clarke and thank you Wael Al Qadi for spending so long talking to our table. Paul really enjoyed the night too, great to see so many familiar faces, had a chat with Wael total gent and you can see his enthusiasm for the club. Pleased that The Rex stand will be open next season!Really professional night well done to all. I'm planning on opening my own personal- cash only- turnstile in it

A fee of £35 m has been agreed in principal . Wael has revealed this money will be used to build the new stadium in Yatton . Utg ! I had heard that as well. Just waiting to see if it crops up on Facebook, which will confirm the veracity of the story.

End of the season apparently. Lansdown has ignored the 'gentlemen's agreement ' between the clubs and promised the funds to Little Lee to snatch our highly rated striker- the bastards!

Is it only me then that thinks that getting the name wrong of the captain of arguably the best ever Rovers side is shambolic and inept? have you contacted Tom Gorringe? No, wouldn't have his email address would you?

I'm hoping people from the club read this forum, because I'm not sure who to contact.
Can we please call back the sticker set and stickers and do it properly? It's embarrassing.

Anyone got a spare ticket for tomorrow? Thought I would go and check out the new parts of the stadium and hopefully get to see Matty Taylor play again.

I'll tell 'ee one thing for nowt: Wycombe's safety officer would never allow this game to go ahead. He would. He'd just have it abandoned if they were losing.

Trust us to have one of the only grounds in the division that will possibly go ahead. Think only three games in League 1 left now still on- ridiculous lack of respect for away supporters in view of the weather warnings given.FA should have made the decision for all clubs. You seem to be operating under a rather quaint, old- fashioned assumption that the FA give a flying f**k about football fans

Can you get to St George? There is a coach running from the Pied Horse. Thanks Rex At this moment in time I cannot get out of the street (1 way in and 1 way out) it is also snowing heavily again so think I will have to wait until the morning. What time is the coach due to leave? Hoping to get away at 9. I have no chance whatsoever of getting my car out from the lane I live in, so I will be hiking it from Hanham (Clevedon might be a tad more difficult walking)

I drive to every away game but with heavy heart I have decided to do the sensible thing and not drive tomorrow even if the game is on. Is the club/supporters club running any coaches/sleighs/Huskeys etc? If so how do I book a place? Can you get to St George? There is a coach running from the Pied Horse.

Surely it has to be called off!! No way people can travel in this. Even the trains won't be running. I wonder how the Rovers team will get there, they can't be there already.

Its just my opinion but.....as statues cost an absolute fortune to have made .I would have thought the idea of this amount of money being spent on this type of thing would go against the whole ethic of the Dunford family at Rovers. All that scrimping and saving and fundraising to keep the club going, every penny counting ,people taking on several jobs ,mucking in. I think a statue is too flamboyant. In a new stadium/main stand in the main entrance hallway the walls should be a "Hall of fame/honour" .Where portaits/photos of the Rovers elite servants from various decades should be . Just my view. Maybe we could install a working PA system in his memory.
