No, and why would you? How anyone would wish their own national team to lose is incomprehensible.

was that aimed at me? Make up any scenario you like and no I don't want us to falter but I hope for more than we're currently getting. I know I shouldn't because I'm gas and should just be grateful to have a team to support - is that right?! Oh well, I'll shut up and hope for a play off challenge in 2020!!! But surely we have to be realistic too? Two promotions in the last four years. Christ, I'd been watching Rovers for 29 years before I saw my second one. The rapid progress we have made has to level out somewhere in order for the club to catch up. On the pitch with a turnover of players and off the pitch because as Socrates points out, the club was a complete shambles before the Al Qadi's rode into town (and imo has been for much longer than that actually). We're progressing nicely. I admit there is progression but for my liking it's far too slow. I'm guessing we'll sign players for a combine d total of 400k at most and the rest will be free agents. There will be no progress on the ground or stadium and DC will miraculously have us challenging and the crowds will be good (for us). But, there will be no stadium progression or news on the training ground and when DC leaves.....

Would you be happy if the UWE was nearing completion, but that it was going to be run for the uni's benefit and not ours? That would be a real comfort wouldn't it? Watching struggling league 1 football and relegation in a swish new stadium whilst making nothing from it and having the life-blood sucked out of the club. No money for players and DC leaving because of a lack of funding would have me dancing a merry jig of delight. I'd rather have the Mem as it is with a couple of extra tents and the club keeping all the money generated, thank you. At least the owners seem to be willing to support DC, and I have real optimism for a successful next season. We are still masters of our own destiny. If the UWE deal wasn't right then so be it. A pig wearing lipstick is still a pig. A shithead in a 3 piece suit is still a Shithead, more commonly known as the defendant. was that aimed at me? Make up any scenario you like and no I don't want us to falter but I hope for more than we're currently getting. I know I shouldn't because I'm gas and should just be grateful to have a team to support - is that right?! Oh well, I'll shut up and hope for a play off challenge in 2020!!!

Don't hold your breath, I've been waiting 2 years for that. To be fair they’ve done everything they said they’d do. It’s all moving along nicely all be it slowly but the impression I got from Wael from day 1 was that it was going to be that way. If we had done a Man City it wouldn’t feel like Rovers anymore and in league 1 it can be disastrous throwing money about bringing in loads of big name players / managers. I like the way they’ve gone about their business, they’ve improved everything but not flashy just small improvements here and there and we’ve still got our identity and our great manager. I’m happy with that considering it’s only been 2 years and they spent the first year sorting out the shambles from before. Going back to DCs targets they’ve always said they’d support him in the transfer market and he gives me the impression he’s happy with what he’s been given. He’s still here , that speaks volumes. Words are just words I tend to go on what I see. you're happy that in 2 whole years we've progressed this far? Are you being serious? We've admittedly progressed from where we were but at this rate I'll be dead and buried before I see plans for stadium regeneration! The progression is pitifully slow. God forbid we have a serious setback and are demoted because we'll probably then have a 10 year plan to achieve promotion!

By my reckoning it's 9 weeks since the AGM. So tomorrow is the day. Or maybe not.. Unless the club intend announcing to the whole world that they've submitted plans to S Glos then we won't really know until the plans appear on the S Glos planning portal, which I assume could take up to a week to be validated and then uploaded to the portal? Given that we are all desperate to know and that the plans are public anyway, I'd have thought there is no good reason to fail to let the World know that they've been submitted.

So will we hear anything about the training ground this week? I'm guessing not but here's hoping!

DC has already stated that he wants a left back or 2 so it would seem Craig is not the preferred left back. As regards leads, he is injury prone and not a great defender. If he signs then fair enough, he has pace and can do a job at right back but with limited cash at his disposal I don't see DC being particularly concerned if he moves on nor signin anyone to replace him.

Don't we buy player's every summer. Am sure that is normal expenditure. Can't believe the colony cost 1.5mil! Not £300k & £150k We don't usually spend that much on players. Where does Matty Taylor's transfer fee fit into this? Surely that's £300k of the £450k you mention Whatever way you look at it the current model isn't sustainable so unless Wael can find some cash down the back of the sofa how is the training ground and stadium going to be built?!

I wouldn't have thought that our player's wages are that high and according to DC the development squad are paid peanuts, so where is the money being spent? Bottom 6 budget with what are decent attendances for us. Something isn't right here! Training ground and summer transfers would account for a lot of that. Our normal one-and-a-half mil per annum loss accounts for much of the rest. Not sure what is so unbelievable about it. Don't we buy player's every summer. Am sure that is normal expenditure. Can't believe the colony cost 1.5mil!

One year from now I'm predicting that there will be no plans about a new ground. Who agrees?

The best football I've ever seen from us is under Holloway. Some of the football we played before the wheels fell off was breathtaking but the most effective team was Gerry's from 1990. We never knew when we were beaten, the spirit was fantastic and we did have some very good players too. I think we have forgotten how many good footballers were in that team.

Quite honestly if that's all Wael has to say he might as well not bother. There was not one insightful comment in the whole interview. I cannot believe he thinks that's acceptable. Surely he should know how long, roughly, it will take to progress matters. I'm sure he won't be giving the consultants a blank cheque! Simply appalling.

Great idea Rich, and off the back of an encouraging display at Blackburn there are surely some more believers about today. We can do this !
Hope you are on the mend.

The simple truth is that we've been sold a pup. Nice guy as Wael is, he has misled us it seems with quotes of finance being available when it quite clearly isn't. Fingers crossed that there is a consortium circling who could deliver the stadium which could give the club a bright future; i think we deserve that. Surely that depends. By all accounts they have put 12m into the club just in order to get it in sort of shape So there is some finance isnt there? They never said they were foing to drop 40m+ off their own money into a stadium or anything on top wael categorically stated that we need a new stadium and finance would not be a problem. The reality appears to be somewhat different. Pitiful investment in the squad and a piecemeal developmemt of the mem. This isn't what we were expecting is it?

DC deserves the opportunity to turn this around. I think he is a loyal chap and loyalty is a 2 way street. Let's get behind DC and the team and turn this around. Clearly we have all been let down badly buy the owners on terms of budget and transfer spending but if they can make funds available in January I'd be confident that DC can turn things around; but new players are essential.

He certainly talks the talk now how about doing some walking. It's all very well talking to foreign press but I'd say that the fans of the club who he puports to love are in need of some reasurance. Maybe a decent January transfer budget and some plans for the stadium wouldn't go amiss!

I agree that communication from the top is diabolical and will cause damage to the club if it continues because people will begin to lose faith and belief in the owners.
