I am truly saddened by this news. I have a huge amount of respect for Geoff. May he rest in peace.

Just an honest question, has there been any concrete evidence that BBB actually wants to leave? If not and I imagine the management team want him to stay and it seems we do not need to sell him, isn't all the speculation moot? No, nothing concrete but surely the club will have offered him a further contract with improved terms as it has been clear for a while that he's our star performer. The fact that his contract is now in its last year is a concern and whilst I'm glad he returned to training fitter than ever (i think i read this somewhere) perhaps he already had one eye on a move. I don't blame him really, it's great being a fans favourite etc. But it doesn't pay the mortgage or set you up financially for life which a good contract at a championship club would provide. I hope he stays but if he does go Rovers must obtain a good fee and reinvest.

Love the part when he says "The grass isn't always greener on the other side" Speaking from experience? LOL...yeah, from snakeys experience! But the fee has to be right and monies reinvested in the playing squad.

I really feel that The loss of Billy Bodin for a small fee, and that is what 250k is, will mark a sea change in our futture course. If we refuse poulty offers and press on with designs for the training ground and stadium, people will remain on side and attendances will remain high (providing we keep doing relatively well) but if Billy goes cheaply I feel all momentum will be lost and we'll be back to Square one. We must keep our best players where possible but if they have to be sold we must obtain fair value for them and recruit accordingly.

Pre-application discussions are often drawn out affairs but if they are carried out correctly there is a better chance of getting the decision made in our favour much sooner.

Sometimes I really do feel fackin embarrassed when I read some of the sh** posted on 'ere !! The forum is very difficult reading for me tonight I must say......... I'm confused about everything that's been said by Hamer and UWE and most of all comments and opinions of people on here. Need to hear from the weal aq family badly.. 😳😳🤔🤔🤔 yes, you are tight about that. One other uestion I'd like to ask is whether they are ever going to invest any decent size money in the squad?

I'm not hung up on it, and I am over it. His sole purpose of signing Taylor though was to f**k our season up, there was no other reason. The blokes a c*nt 👍 You are 100% accurate in your assessment of Lansdown. However you should have prefixed your description with rosy - cheeked. As for the Chirruping Cockney Fool's comment on Snake, I thought the OP was going to report that the short - arsed little twat was going to say he didn't realise just how much of a lady garden he was until he had signed! that was a post of comic genius!

I'm probably wrong but i see the no brainer comment being about a player we've been offered on loan who will come to us and we'd be mad to turn down. The other player being sweeney who we'd love to sign but who has other options and we are trying to get to come to us. All guesswork though! One question, dc mentions 24 players needed for the season. How many does he currently consider we have as 1st ream players, are there currently 20, therby meaning me need to make 4 more signings before the end of August?

Very, very sharp finishing today by Ellis. If he can perform similarly every week we'll be right up there this year. Keep it up Ellis!

LDV & Dawson both dropped down several levels to the Conference and then excelled from virtually day one, Moore's stayed at a similar level and James couldn't even hold down a 1st team place at this level, both will be useful squad players but have shown nothing so far to suggest they are going to be 1st team starters at this level, which LDV & Dawson were in the Conference. I can't see why fans seem afraid at the suggestion DC signs player who can start in the 1st team rather than just be bench warmers, he did that with the goalie so why not with outfield players? Because we want a better starting 11 and most people hope that the team will improve rather than stagnate. Please ignore my last post which i misread!

Carayol just wasn't as good in my opinion as some people on here seem to think, also don't think he is a DC type player, doesn't work hard enough off the ball Name a better winger and crosser of the ball for Rovers in the last 20 years. Mark Walters? But i agree Carayol was a quality player. The question is whether he still is and i don't know the answer to that.

Great news that he has signed. He was a much improved player last year and the gap between league 1 and 2 isn't that great so hopefully he can repeat last year's goal tally!

I'm sure there is much better value for money out there. If he wasn't ex gas he wouldn't even be on our radar.
