Spot on HTE.
The thing is if he proves himself fit then he is far to good to be in the conference and will probably find a league side. If he isn't fully fit and recovered then he will probably see us as the best option as no one else will touch him. We could end up with a half fit Gow only playing 15 or so games. Money we could better spend elsewhere I think regardless of his quality. If he proves his fitness and signs then great, he could be the best player at this level, but I just can't see it.

Not sure if Worthy farm, Pilton is classed as a holiday but it's a bloody amazing 5 days 'away'. Hoping to go back to Oz early next year so saving for that by not going abroad this summer. Five days ? You going on Thursday ? Going first thing Wednesday and leaving Sunday night. I don't stay on till the Monday.

Good evening chaps I'm just after some help.
I have been on a World Cup beer hunt for a couple of weeks and am aiming to get one beer/lager from each of the 32 nations competing in the tournament. Now on 15 I am starting to think getting anywhere near 32 will be an impossible task.
Lots of African and South American lagers still to go and no sign of anywhere stocking them either in Bristol or online. Does anyone have any idea how to get hold of any beers or lagers from the more obscure countries?
So far I have USA, Russia, Japan, Greece, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Holland and Nigeria. Clearly still work to do and time running out
So has anyone seen any that will help my quest? Realistically I can add England, France and Australia without much difficulty making 18 and 20 would be a good effort I think... i will be prepared to buy from anyone who may have a Croat, Colombian or Ghanian lager lying around at home!
Any info appreciated for a desperate gashead on a beer hunt!

Fair enough, like I said I didn't think you were lying, just thought it strange that specific clauses in contracts were common knowledge.

Not sure how a former player would know the details of Harrold's contract and that if Beardsley was fit he wouldn't have had next season triggered though. Not saying it's a lie but seems odd that a player would know this...

No from me too. DC has already said we lack pace which is what I think we will get to compliment Brunt and Harrold.

Thinking about it I wouldn't really have wanted either Constable or Midson to sign for us as I believe a fit Brunt is better than both and even Harrold will probably score more than both given the right service (as he proved in his only fully fit full season for us).
It's pace we need - both out wide and up top. Just need to ask the question of would you rather have Brunt/Harrold or Midson/Constable. I honestly (feel free to argue with me here) would rather what we have as long as we add that all important pace to it.

Certainly stamping down intent there Eastleigh. Not sure they have the fan base but they seem to have the cash to splash.
I just hope DC is right with wanting his signings more or less signed by 30 June when we start training.

I genuinely can't wait. Something about World Cups makes me hooked every time and I will most likely have lots of late nights taking in as many games as I can, driving the girlfriend close to insane in the process. In no other sport would I even consider staying up till near 1am on a Wednesday night to watch Cameroon take on Croatia but call me a sad bastard if you will I am looking forward to it.

Just a quick see how we are all doing now a few weeks have passed since that fateful day. Phase 1. Despair "Its the end of the world as we know it. Our club is dead and nothing will ever cheer me up again" Phase 2. Anger "The useless board have lest us all down now" "Wardy signed all the wrong players" "the lads showed no pride, passion or skill we are sh**e!!" Phase 3. complete denial "AFC Wimbledon could get a points deduction right? We still could be ok?" "If Gateshead go up their ground might not meet League standards so we can still be reinstated?" Phase 4. Acceptance "We're down cos the table doesn't lie" "We deserved it over 46 games so will have to rebuild now" Phase 5. Unfounded optimism "Clarke's interview was great, he has non league experience and will sign the right players!" "The UWE will be our incentive to get back up first time of asking" "WE WILL WIN THE TITLE" So where are we all in this scale then? I'm a safe 4!!

I've heard he's already looking at buses for next season... I like the top one Dave cos that's the inevitable end of the journey. Isn't the top one a vision of what will happen if we lose away at Dover...

You'd hope so. I wouldn't put it past the enemy finding some more obscure detail that could hold it up another week or two though.

Yeovil away added, 22 July. Can't say I fancy a trip there to watch a village team take the water out of us to be honest!

Pierce Mitchell, a defender released by the sh**, could be the first name on the signings front. Reported today he will be one of 6 or 7 trialists to join the squad in pre season after impressing at the end of last season.
Also says in the piece in the western daily press online that we could expect around 10 signings (maybe more if players leave). Interesting summer ahead if nothing else.

This one requires several whisky's. "And we just heard that Non-League Bristol Rovers have just caused a FA Cup reply upset by beating Football League 2 side Accington Stanley in a shock 1-0 away victory" Calm down mate let's not get carried away eh?..

That's so last season mate... so, Rovers to be strong, pacey, passionate and organised with diggers on the UWE site, Trash admitting defeat, the board restructuring and the fans/board/club uniting as one... pass me another whisky

We are going to need a good sense of humour this season going to places like Eastleigh and Braintree, I for one can't wait to get going again and visiting some of these places. Plus the old favourites like Kiddy (for the grub) and Hereford (awful ground but we always win there). Salisbury and FGR should be like home games too if we are allocated enough tickets.
