Anyone have any idea why no South Stand tickets available for purchase on the website for the next two home games? Do they only appear nearer to maych day when the number of seats allocated to away fans is finalised maybe?

If anyone can make use of a junior ticket in the east terrace for the Lincoln game, let me know. My son can’t make it. Free of charge. I’m in Kingswood.

There did seem to be plenty of bare terrace where the away fans would normally stand. Looked like it could fit in at least another 500 in there quite comfortably.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought the chant "we are staying up" doesn't really make sense. Perhaps "we are staying put" is more appropriate..

Sounds like a good candidate for head groundsman when he hangs up his boots!

They can't disclose the location of the "failed" attempt because if they did the land owners would call bullsh1t.

Interesting Hamer said about the applicants, “some of them are romantic” Is he hinting at Holloway? Or it could mean that chris de burgh has just thrown his name in the hat...

Yes please. Doubt it would happen, though I suspect Wael will get him in for an interview to get a selfie with him.

100% we'd be better off in a leased UWE. It would've brought an amazing feel-good factor, bigger crowds and attracted better players.
As someone mentioned already, the Al Cowardlies didn't want to risk their own money. Much like at present.
Such a big missed opportunity which I'm finding it hard to get over fully. One day maybe.

So much we dont know about the owners. Why the UWE failed = dont know Training ground = dont know When the debt overtakes the value of the mem = dont know Why no communication = dont know Why london office = dont know Posters like swissgas making dark warnings about the future is just based on assumption, presumption and guesswork. We just dont know whats happened or is happening. Said this a few times. They could be doing nothing. But then again they could be working on an amazing plan. We don't know, but everyone is making out they do, just because they can't talk about it. Hopefully we will get good news at some stage. "They could be working on an amazing plan" Spoiler alert: they're not!

I suspect that as well, however Wael was I think quoted as saying that finance was not a problem in getting UWE off the ground. Methinks this was complete BS. Yeah I recall similar- I did some research after the collapse of the UWE deal out of interest to see what he actually said following the takeover, I recall reading him say that the finance for the stadium was not contingent on the sainsbury's case but that they would let the court case appeal reach it's conclusion anyway. I recall that because it struck me as a bold thing for him to say where previously he had been quite careful with wording. Damned if I can find that article now though, the most I can find attributed to him is that "this club NEEDS a new stadium." I found this. www.itv.com/news/west/2016-06-13/bristol-rovers-making-excellent-progress-on-new-stadium/The last couple of paras says Wael stated the appeal outcome has no bearing on the UWE. Reading that article, it's amazing how within 2 years someone can go from strutting peacock to ..i dunno....a pigeon!

Where have I posted fans have a right to know? If the owners don't want to keep fans updated they can't complain next season when s/t sales are down by 1000+ has fans have become disgruntled with the way they are running the club So, giving DC a mid table budget, and complying with EFL rules, updating bars, and shop makes fans disgruntled the way they are running the club. the truth is if DC had got some half decent players in and we were in the top 10 then fans wouldn't be so disgruntled. Now I know we want a new ground, we have wanted one since 1978, but we want someone else to pay for it. I have no doubt that Wael is looking for investment, but I am not disgruntled at that , I am disgruntled at a manager who has paid good money to bring not very good players to the club. He is to blame for gates dropping because we go to watch winning football, and lets face it the football at home is totally crap. And when we hit the bottom he has to go That will be music to Wael's ears. He was lapping up the promotion glory, now he can take the flack for the current comparative failure due to insufficient squad investment. And yes, when you look at the money in from departures it has been insufficient.

Not sure what you expect fans to do, fly out to Jordan and confront the ALQ's in their homeland? Obviously not, but reading that people are just accepting that we should see how it plays out is really sad scenario. Some noise on Saturday maybe? Not just wait until we are in league 2. Yep, it won't be until the end of the season when it's too late that some people will wake up. At which point I suspect Wael may be carried down Gloc Rd for somewhat different reasons this time!

Im told Higgsy and co. only agreed to sell to that Al-Qadis because they promised they would build the stadium and wipe out the debts and they feel they were lied to. If they hadn't made those promises they wouldn't have sold to them. Might be true, but if Nick sold them a lemon with UWE, then thats on him The only lemon is Wael if he failed to carry out adequate due diligence in the club. Nowadays I'd say he's more of a plum though.

I feel like we've been conned into optimism one too many times. I hope we receive some good news one day, but I'm not expecting it.

The stand is as "temporary" as it is pleasing on the eyes, i.e. not at all!!
The thing will be there until it's rusted to such an extent that it's a health and safety hazard.

Solid roof along the whole gap would have been less of an eyesore.Planning permission is the suggested reason but don't think that would have been insurmountable. It really is quite dreadful. My Greenhouse is better to look at.Really sums up our plight stadium wise. A solid roof along the whole gap is exactly what i thought would of been a better suited idea , it would of looked a lot better than what we currently have. When you say a solid roof along the whole gap, you mean the entire terrace up to the away fans? That would be a proper upgrade and they still could screw in a bunch of seats into the section of terracing where the santas grotto stand is currently plonked

Surely they could've put some seating in the space above the terracing as most thought was happening. The stand needn't be deep but it could've stretched a lot wider. It may still look naff but the most important things are it wouldn't reduce capacity (not that that'll be an issue this year) nor would it disgruntle several hundred loyal fans who've frequented that area for many years in most cases.

It must be the "new stand" effect. The same thing happened to Liverpool and Man U after they completed their new grand stands...
