Another striker worth keeping an eye on moving forward is Owen Oseni who recently moved to Gateshead. Came through the ranks at Waterford in Ireland, before a move to Derby. Had a couple of decent loans at step 2 and 3 in the non-league pyramid before his release from Derby and subsequent move to the Heed. View Attachment Owen Oseni been on fire in pre-season. We should be scouting him ASAP. x.com/GatesheadFC/status/1818385375414346228

Alex Brewer at Burgess Hill Town worth scouting after scoring 37 goals in 22 games for their U18s side last season. He stepped up to the first-team and this pre-season he has 8 goals for the senior side and scored a goal in their first competitive game during the 24/25 season, an FA Cup Qualifying tie.

Sebastian Müller a winger with two good feet who can play either side with potential worth scouting in one of the German 4th tiers. 👀

Following on from the non-league gems worth monitoring below National League, I wonder if we are watching the progress of 17-year-old midfielder Jack Nunn at Mangotsfield United? He's been impressing in youths (20 goals in 33 appearances) and first-team, with SGS College side and is a current England Colleges player. I also see Bristol City recently had a couple of youngsters (Theo Jeremy and Jake Wilson) on trial from Western League side Keynsham Town, who have a link up with SGS College. Jack Nunn to Serie A club Cagliari! 👀

I’m pretty sure he’s even a Rovers fan which makes this more annoying.

But he’s been on the radar at Mangotsfield, Stoke Gifford and the SGS set up for 2 years now. I’d like to think we are in pole position for all promising lads giving the SGS complex being right in between the quarters and the Mem. But Jack is yet another name on a long list of SGS lads who have moved on to bigger clubs. Im past the point thinking this is a co-incidence and I don’t believe we’re properly scouting the set up close enough.

It's my understanding he was spotted by Cagliari at the Roma Caput Mundi tournament, a few months after I tried to pass on his name to the club and the post I made in this thread. Not sure if we were interested or not.

Good sign with the Chippenham Town lad I guess. Imagine we also need a development squad in place before we can really take advantage.

Wasn’t there talk of upgrading our Academy status this year?
Not heard anything about this but presumably no point signing young players if they have no opportunity to play.

Watched this lad Leonardo Vonic score a hat-trick today. Terrific prospect. View AttachmentWatched Vonic score again today. Plays in similar system to ours and looks ideal for us. Mobile, quick, leads line well, works the channels, can run in behind, but also good with back to goal and looks decent finisher off either foot or head. Good age and potential.

Davide Merola a player with a lot of talent and potential worth scouting. Has a lovely left foot and great pedigree having come through the Inter Milan youth system and represented Italy at youth international level. Only cost Pescara about £130k transfer fee according to transfermarkt.

Another non-league gem worth getting eyes on is recently turned 19-year-old RB/RWB Anthony 'AJ' Warburton who signed for Avro this summer after an impressive 23/24 season at Droylsden where he contributed 15 ⚽️ goals/assists.

Likewise, Jamie Meddows is a highly-rated 21-year-old attacking midfielder/forward now at Bromsgrove Sporting worth getting eyes on 👀

I've mentioned him in the thread a few times and I'm again looking forward to watching Jaume Jardi at Gimnàstic de Tarragona this season. Certainly a player Rovers should be monitoring if they are looking to expand their recruitment overseas. Wonderful left foot. Well schooled. Can play on either wing or as a no 10. Excellent free kick taker too, which is something we now lack since Evans' departure. Jaume Jardi - what a talent. Free kick last month vs Sabadell

Thought the CF James Crole was quite highly-rated in the academy at Cardiff City and will be one to scout and his progress monitored at Penybont after recent permanent move to the Welsh Prem club. Started well with 2 goals on debut. Capped by Wales at youth international level

A few more lads with potential that are playing lower down the non-league pyramid that have caught the eye and are worth scouting with a view to our u18s, would be Jokubas Mazionis (Enfield Borough), Sammy Henia-Kamau (Jersey Bulls) and Jaiden Celestine-Charles (Langley). Sammy Henia-Kamau is a versatile and tricky 17-year-old attacking player with decent pace, creativity and eye for goal. Just noticed Sammy Henia-Kamau moved to Swansea City.Jaiden Celestine-Charles to Millwall. www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2024/august/14/millwall-s-under-21s-sign-jaiden-celestine-charles/
