As far as tonight's team selection goes I only have 2 requests please Daryll... Firstly, give Telford a start, by all means bring Nichols on as a sub for the last 15 if absolutely necessary. Secondly, don't bring Moore even for the bench, would rather give Broom a go. Right I'm off to the supermarket to buy some weetabix. UTG! But I've seen nothing of Telford to say that he can play in the attacking midfielder Bodin role, which is where Nichols has been playing. Or do you mean to break up the Harrison-Gaffney partnership, which is starting to look promising? I mean replace Nichols with Telford, since we are likely to go 4-3-3 I'd put Telford in the middle and have Rory and Ellis either side, midfield 3 of Lines, Sercs and Ollie and then back 4 of Parts, Locks, Sweeney and Bola. GK to stay as Slocs

Just signed up to put our side of things across for tonight. We generally lineup with a 4141 formation. GK Dean Henderson - on loan from Man Utd, rated highly but inexperienced. RB James Bolton - steady, although not spectacular, non league purchase. CB Toto Nsiala - great in the air, big, strong but has a mistake in him. CB Matt Sadler - left back all his career but moved across centrally and has been brilliant. LB Junior Brown - again steady, gets forward well, possibly can get outdone in the air. CDM Ben Godfrey - loan from Norwich, big strong and very tough to get past, sits infront of the defence. CM Abu Ogogo - not the most technically gifted but an athlete, blocks, tackles and chases everything, captain. CM Jon Nolan - our best player, great on the ball, if you keep him quiet we can struggle to create chances and keep the ball, the difference between us winning and losing. RM Shaun Whalley - inconsistent lower league winger, very quick and exciting in the right moments, but like I say, inconsistent. LM Alex Rodman - a player reborn, not hugely talented but does the basics, crosses, passes simple and runs his socks off. ST Stefan Payne - another big strong lad, bit of pace and knows where the goal is, needs support though. We’re not a team of stars or individuals, Nolan is a cracking player but other then that we don’t have player after player who would walk into other sides in this division. Our main man is in the technical area, Paul Hurst, he’s made us very hard to beat, not a great passing our creative team, but hard to beat. We do the simple things well, play players in their correct position and make sure they all work their bollocks off, that’s all we’ve done really. All of this is based on our general starting XI this season, what I will say is that we tend to make changes for midweek fixtures, as we press high and work hard the players need a rest, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the likes of Beckles, Riley, Morris, the other Morris and maybe others come into the lineup tonight, rendering my above analysis useless! We all know we won’t win the league, there’s much better teams then us in this division and we know the first defeat is on the horizon, regardless of that we have a hard working team and a good manager, so it should be good times ahead even once that defeat and slip down the table comes. It may be a little late now but there’s two pubs walking distance, The Darwin and The Brooklands which I think is now known as The Wild Pig. Do not park in Sainsbury’s or surrounding shops, tickets seem to get produced on midweek games, but close by is the park and ride which provides free parking, aslong as you don’t mind a queue on the way out. Without sounding complacent we do expect a win tonight, with the start of the season we’ve had and being at home you can’t really blame us, but there’s been some pretty average performances recently and that first defeat does feel around the corner sooner or later. What are your pies like? Ours are friggin awesome! Due to the price and queues I haven’t touched our catering for years!

I remember watching Hurst stand there impassively* as we condemned him to another season in the conference with penalties at Wembley, and thinking, that bloke's either an idiot or something special. *I probably didn't bother with his reaction until about the thirtieth replay, but the way he took it on the chin was very impressive.

He has youth on his side so he probably can do a job in a forward 3 but everything I've seen of him suggests to me that he is best as an old fashioned number 10, in the Marcus Stewart mould. We'll probably get the best of him when he's played up front in a 2 alongside Gaffney, but Ellis has been our best player this season so doesn't deserve to be left out at the moment. he'll get his chance but probably not tonight.

Does anyone know much about the The Shrews ? - who are their danger men ? what formation they play ? I admit I've hardly heard of any of their players - their keeper is on loan from Man U and has done well apparently. Just signed up to put our side of things across for tonight. Nsiala - gas legend, sliced a simple clearance out for a corner at Wembley which we scored from. Nolan - did you get him from Grimsby? Didn't seem to be very well regarded by them if it is him. Rodman and Payne we encountered in the 'year of shame' as well, both good players I seem to remember. You expect to win tonight then, quite right with your record to date but I hope we pin that quote up in our dressing room tonight,no team talk needed! Thanks for taking the trouble to post your thoughts sir.

I can't see anything other than another defeat I'm afraid. Shrewsbury is just one of those places where we never get a result, and the way DC sets the side up and goes gun -Ho for the win means a pragmatic team like Shrews will sit back and pick us off.

I'd like to see leads come in for parts tonight. I thought he lacked confidence on sat and other players didnt seem to want to use him as the out ball

Thanks for taking the trouble to post your thoughts sir. Nolan is different class, like I say if you give him space he can run the game, but he is the only real player we have with that passing ability and composure so if you stop him, you’ll stop our passing game and we’ll resort to hitting Payne earlier, the rest are generally grafters not top quality players. As I said before we know our first loss is coming, and as we were relegation favourites we don’t expect to be up the top, but unbeaten in the first 13 games, of course we expect to win the game, what else would you expect me to say? We haven’t been brilliant whatsoever in our last few games, so this certainly isn’t a banker at all.

Moore has replaced Harrison as the player everyone has a go at now. Two points; If everyone trusts in DC then why not trust his selection of Moore ? And why not get off the blokes back instead of childish little digs ? gets on my Dam nerves

This did cross my mind tbh. If there is one striker they will be expecting to start then it will be Ellis. I would start with Moore, the opposition will be laughing so much he might score. Do we get double goals if we play our joker? To be fair although he's pretty sh**e he has chipped in with some important away goals for us.

And why not get off the blokes back instead of childish little digs ? gets on my f**king nerves Obviously this is aimed at me, well let me put the record straight. I travel over from Wales every week to watch the gas and not once have I ever slagged any of our players off! Yes I maybe guilty of a couple Childish digs as you put it but I get 100% behind the players when their wearing the quarters. I want every Rovers player to do well, and yes even Moore! I have nothing against the bloke but I just don't think he's good enough? I hope he proves me wrong but my patience is wearing thin and I believe we have better options? Just my opinion of course but isn't that the point of this forum? Apologies if I've upset anyone, now moving forward 3 points tonight please UTG!
