Padstow. If you read my post I actually came on to say exactly what you said 'but it was one that was full of determination and effort that has been lacking in the last couple of months'. Obviously I haven't seen you play for the last couple of months but what I was saying was there was effort and determination there for all to see. As for the organisation of the minutes silence yes I am sure the bugler would wish he had done better and the announcer made clearer what was going to happen - if your point is defending your No. 3 then I stand by my comments that he should have shown a level of respect deserving to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. I actually didn't see anything wring with browns behaviour during the silence.he was quiet not speaking which is what is on the lid unlike a few home fans who talked throughout the minute.I know this because they were sat very close to me. Glass houses and stones come to mind

Terrible defending for the goal. Brown in enough space to let the ball drop and smash it up the pitch. Instead, a poor defensive header resulting in the ball coming straight back. Poor decision making and communication from the rest of the defence. StI'll not seen the goal and until I do I still maintain that Smith should have claimed the ball

I like Browner, although he prefers to pull the ball down and pass / clear with his feet rather than head the ball. Great goal to secure promotion, the fellas a legend.

Wasn't at the game but to balance the criticism of Brown, I'm sure they said on commentary that he saved us twice yesterday?

I watched this on a decent internet link;
2 poor teams where we were poorer and never looked like scoring. The fact Scunny have scored fewest goals at home probably saved us from more embarrassment.
Adelakun and Holmes showing the advantage of having some decent wingers; both caused panic when they had the ball and we backed off accordingly as usual.
I cant say either side deserved to actually win the game and im surprised Scunthorpe are as high as they are.

Veteran Scunny fan here, been going since 1955. Yesterdays game as a spectacle was absolutely terrible. Although we are up near the top of the table we are not pretty to watch, a lot of our fans are complaining about the poor product on offer. Compound that with the negative tactics employed by Rovers yesterday particularly in the second half it made for painful watching. We sit behind the opposition dug out and your manager was issuing instructions to slow it all down and waste time whereas we had a very inexperienced centre back pairing and you might have attacked them on the ground, they are both quite dominant in the air. I was disappointed that Sam Slocombe was not playing as he is a friend, he used to coach us Over 50's at Scunny to make his money up when he was No.2 here. (He is excellent out of goal too by the way) Paddy Madden and Van Veen are both out of form and out of favour at the moment and are expected to leave. My Brother in Law lives in Bristol, he might be the lone member of the 'Fishponds Iron' ?? Best of luck for the rest of the season. Your travelling fans deserved a better showing than they got yesterday.

Everyone is complaining we're too generous to the opposition, especially away. This is the first time for a while we've just tried to keep a clean sheet and be unadventurous. It's not DC's way, but I guess he recognises that something needs to be done, so this was an exceptional game for us. Funny you're the second Iron on here since you won the match being concerned about how we go about things. It's nice of you to care, but I wouldn't worry about the entertainment value the Gas get. We're pretty content with that, generally over the last few years. I think I'd be a lot more worried about that sort of thing if I had to watch Scunthorpe regularly, to be fair.

Ha ha, top post Antonio! It must be strange supporting a team with lady garden in the middle!

It's not too bad, we are used to the jibes. We have had some fine players over the last few years, particularly up front. I was born here, hence they are my club and always will be.

Fair play to you, I can’t argue with that. Like Antonio said we tried something yesterday which goes against the grain of our manager and it nearly stopped the rot. I can assure you it’s never boring watching the gas + heartache galore! We also have had 10 or 12 fine players up front too!
