Don't want to be over-critical on Smith but he pushed it directly back to Davies. Defenders no chance.
You're dead right about Smith, he had a sh** game. Should definately have held onto the ball from the pen. It was straight at him and not at speed. Very slow in distribution . Almost did the same as the pen in the first half too Also pulled off two incredible back-to-back saves in the second half to keep it at 1-1?

I can just see Barry Fry and MacAnthony now rubbing their hands with glee at the business they did with the sale of Nichols and the capture of Marriott. The latter is now being linked with multi million pound moves to the Championship. Nichols just looks like a little schoolboy playing footy with the big boys. God knows how he even got 10 last season. I wonder if anyone actually watched him or we just relied on Marcus' judgement? It would be interesting to read the posts about BB when he first joined us as I'm pretty sure somebody posted that he was too light weight and wouldn't make it as a league player. Although whether TN as BB's obvious desire as the great unknown.

You'd be welcome to him. Not been injured but so out of favour that he hasn't kicked a ball for us in 2017. Will be off in Jan. Done well at this level in the past and would do a good job again I reckon. I'd take him as part of the Bodin deal if I was Darrell Clarke. He's on Championship wages, which has been a problem when trying to offload him. He is most certainly a L1 player but nobody can pay his wages at present. A compromise will have to be found soon though, because as I said earlier, he hasn't kicked a ball in over 12 months.

Maybe you'll have to subsidise a percentage or something, if we're even interested that is.

To anyone whom watched the game yesterday:
Would you swap keepers?
Arguably our only goal came because of rash decision by keeps to come out. Apart from that, I can't remember any save he made.
Our only goal conceded was after a brilliant shot stop, and many more during the game.
For me, Smith doesn't inspire confidence with commanding his area, or even coming off his line, but his shot stopping has earned us two valuable points on the road since pre Xmas.
It's the defence that exposes him we should question.

The constant knocking of smith has been too much. He’s not been spectacular but I haven’t seen many too clearly better.

All the knocking of Smith; if Bola didn’t make that needless challenge he wouldn’t have had a penalty to face. I cannot see any mention of the needless, shocking challenge. Take away that and an away win is on the board. There has been too many of these games this season where individuals have cost us, something which is out of the hands of the manager.

It's what some of our fans enjoy doing, once they get their teeth into a scapegoat they won't change their view regardless of what they do. It's becoming a bit like Tbone with his constant knocking of Taylor when he was banging in goals for fun. Like I said yesterday I've never in 40 odd years of watching football heard of a keeper getting criticised by his own fans for saving a penalty. I would imagine Mrs Richards, the miserable deaf lady from Fawlty Towers, would have agreed with the Smith criticism yesterday. saved a penalty - like the view of Torquay it's just not good enough!

His main criticism- is that he’s not Lumley. In my opinion unfair. Of the games I’ve seen, (all home games bar 2) he’s only been at fault for the Oldham home result. Otherwise- capable without being spectacular (yet).
