We won it because We were fitter. They were flat out pressing us and tearing us apart first 35 mins then they ran out of steam , I could see towards the end of the first half we were going to go on and win it, they just stopped pressing and although we still couldn’t put much together between the 35th and 45th we suddenly had more time on the ball, they were shattered. 2nd half was all us and the only times they threatened we’re on the counter. Our squad is super fit. Over 80% of our goals in the second half and I reckon a hell of a lot of them are scored in the last ten minutes. Probably right socrates. Although it was mainly us in the second half they still had 3/4 good chances even if it was on the break. Put the ball into our six yard box and there’s a panic, we were a tad fortunate to get away with it last night. Against a better team we might have lost. But we are super fit and full of bouncebackability and it won us the match last night and at the end getting the three points is all that matters. Move on to Wimbledon and look to win that and get another three points. Blimey, whenever I hear the people talking about play offs they mention Posh as contenders. We are with them now! One match at a time! UTG!

Obviously great game to win for us but in a way feel sorry for Rochdale as I think they deserved something from that game. As people have said if it wasn't for Smith they probably would have. If Rovers played like they did away from home with their high energy pressing game and flooding forward in numbers I think we would be well in the play off positions by now. Our better fitness would see out the 90 minutes. You have to say if Rochdale had one eye on their match v Spurs Saturday it certainly didn't show. Smith - 1st half, Moore Sercombe Lines 2nd half stood out for me. Agree with so much of that lympstone but they could only keep up that high pressing game for half the match. When they ran out of steam we controlled it although they still contrived to create 3/4 good chances in the second half. And as you say no one could accuse them of saving themselves for Spurs. Against a high pressing team I’m surprised it takes until DC gets at them at half time before it was sorted. Surely we know teams might do that when they come to the Mem or is it a case of we know they do it we just wait until they run out of steam and then dominate? Last night I thought Rory was excellent never giving their defenders any peace and our midfield dominated second half. But they did break well and our defence was very open at times which against better teams will cost us. UTG!

Even though their fans tried their best to make them, with the big 'Rochdale, Spurs' banner in the away end. I fear their Cannon bloke will now not make the Spurs game. He should not have bothered putting in such a shift.
and in the programme Notes he was listed as a fullback.... - i would defo have a look at him in the summer if available !

Nichols is a strange one. I like what DC has said about and how he has protected him by saying we’re not playing the system TN needs and that he is fitting him around the system. It makes me think he’s not a DC player insofaras as he doesn’t have the versatility to play the different systems DC likes to play. Yet we payed so much of our budget for him and that’s why I think it’s strange. Last night i thought he did ok and you could see the ball wouldn’t run for him or bounce for him. Given some luck on another day it might and he did assist the first goal although I think it was a goal attempt more than a pass. And whatever we do with him it has to be played on the floor and not swung up to him in the air. Keeping closer to Rory would be a way to play to his strengths. UTG!

Think you are spot on re Nicholls, DC obviously see's we have a good player but the way we set up to play doesn't suit him. Take last night the whole team, bar Smith and Partington, was poor in the first half yet Nicholls can be singled out. Feeding off scraps is a term already used to sum up last night and that's correct, for both him and Gaffney. Long hopeful punts up field or lobs over the top made things easy for their defence, even when he won the ball in the air he seemed to have to then chase his own flick on. He was actually making some good runs in between the centre halves but the service wasn't there.. When he did get through he was deemed offside which looked a very close call from where I was. All our goals came from width which we didn't have in the first half. Browners first time cross for the first goal was a peach but probably his first foray forward in the whole game, yet at Oxford he was getting forward all game. Line's goal came again from good work by Moore down the right and I think he did well because he was able to exploit the space that was being left by the system the opposition were playing.

Couldn't make it last night but saw highlights this morning (thank you Dr Gas) and apologies if this has been covered, but how did Smith pick up his head injury?

Wasn't feeling too well so cuddled up with Rupert the Bear and stayed in touch via forum, Sky Sports and the BBC on line.

Reckon he's top notch.

Reckon he's top notch. I wish he would come off his line more and control his area. He could take a lot of pressure off of the defence, especially at corners and free kicks. But as a shot stopper he is very good.

Problem I see with TN though is that he is so lightweight, even if he had an ox of a target man next to him he gets pushed around off the ball so easily. I struggle to see what his best formation would be in this league. Maybe its a step too far for him?

Reckon he's top notch. He made one fantastic save at 1 - 1. I was in the dribuild terrace and right in line with the direction of the shot, it was flying in the bottom corner and just as he got there it bobbled up! He still managed to adjust and push it around the post, outstanding.

He could take a lot of pressure off of the defence, especially at corners and free kicks. But as a shot stopper he is very good. Nigel Martyn was the same. For someone to be what 6" 1, 2, with the added advantage of arm length and the protection of the referee for any infringement, there's no excuse for a keeper not claiming anything in the 6 yrd box and beyond. But, he's been there and made some cracking game turning saves. Now no1 no question.
