There are two reasons I can see for gay people forming a group to go to a football match. The first one is sadly protection. You're less likely to be abused physically or verbally if you're in a group. Secondly having like minded people to go with is nice. If anyone thinks LGBTQ people are equal nowadays could do with giving this a listen: (In case the link get stripped search for 'All the little things tedx panti) on youtube/google/bing/whatever Like minded people are football fans

Me and you are a good example we have opposing views on practically everything discussed on this forum. Literally the only thing we have in common is Rovers. We couldn't be further away from like minded.

Absolutely delightful once again to be reading the blubbering of frustrated old white men as the world they knew falls apart because people refuse to be marginalised anymore. Lovely stuff.

In before 'I'm not a homophobe, I just choose to have a protracted moan about an event that doesn't concern me and which I could easily ignore because I am a concerned citizen.'

Why on Earth do these people feel the need to have their own group if everyone with a different way of life he'd one there would be hundreds Just forget about different groups and just be supporters full stop whoever you are You're right, get that St Georges cross off your badge.

Wow, what a generalisation. You have just created yet another group. You cannot possibly know whether anyone that doesn't share your view is old or young, white or not white, male or female. The Asian culture is dead against homosexuality. I don't see many white Asians. Do you? Open your blinkered eyes for a nanosecond and you will clearly see that I am a middle aged brown dog. I've even put my picture as my avatar. How much plainer do I need to be?

And before anyone asks about my sexuality I would like to clarify that I'm not gay but my boyfriend is. Scoob - Are you Coming Out of the Doghouse? I will say that the collar you wear will go down a storm in the Bear Pit! Take me for walkies and feed me Scooby snacks and I'm yours

You're right, get that St Georges cross off your badge. You on the wind up again? Would it be problematic a similar badge with the rainbow flag?

Would it be problematic a similar badge with the rainbow flag? Yep, you're on the wind up. Not all our supporters are English, that badge clearly puts the owner into a smaller group of people...

You're right, get that St Georges cross off your badge. What do you want a rainbow one Whyever not? People turn up to the game bringing elements of their personality and background to the support all the time? We have an Italian and Welsh flag in the demilitarised zone between the home and away end, had a Jordanian flag hanging from Box 1, I've seen Saltire's at away games and dozens of flags with local areas strewn across them. We're not all the same, we have different circles of friends and social groups. If a LGBT group brought in one more supporter, made them feel at easy and happy to come to matches I'd be delighted. All gas ain't we.

So you are now maganilising old white men perhaps we ought to take offence at that and just for your info I would rather have the world I grew up in rather than the p c correct world we live in now

Come on hugo that's a pretty weak reason, we all know people who get beat up for no reason are you implying gays or lesbians(i thought that stereotyping went away years ago)are weak as the opposite is true ,so your trying to tell me that gays and lesbians in a group will not fight amongst themselves or will jump in on anyone who starts the world doesn't tick that way some will stand their ground other will not get involved same as everyone else, how do they know they are not welcome? more importantly who has said they are not welcome. nobody told me and many others they wern't welcome ,we just turn't up and go to know people. like someone else said if everyone starts a group there will be hundreds, which ends in less mixing. who told the gay or lesbian supporter who already attend our games that they were or wern't welcome Yeah, sure ok. Well done. You have all the reasons all neatly wrapped up. no but hold on pal ,your post was to me very off towards gays n lesbians ,you post suggested they were week and needed protection ,i merely pointed out that was an old stereotype ,go into any gay bar and start a fight you will soon see just how well they handle themselves ,have you any gays or lesbians in your family ,the point i'm trying to made is all the white middle class do gooders are drawing attention to people and causing segregation , i'm saying is the best way for people to not stand out and appear different is to just get on with it. someone mentioned that there are not many players who are out ,why on earth is it so important for people to demand out themselves ,maybe just maybe they want to be left alone and seen as a footballer . This sudden need for groups just reminds me of that vile prick peter thatchell and his group outrage ,for those who don't remember them ,they went around outing people , whether they wanted outing or not. Which then gave them unwanted attention often in a negative way. they were no longer bob the cabinet minister ,they then became bob the gay cabinet minister and a target for those who hated them.

Not all our supporters are English, that badge clearly puts the owner into a smaller group of people... Why being English puts me in a smaller group If we have 10,000 supporters at a match and 1 isn't English then your badge puts you in a smaller group of 9,999 English Gasheads. Simple really.
