Heavily linked at the moment. I know it’s probably fake news but apparently he’s on his way to us... would be a class signing imo as I feel him and Harrison will be close off the pitch and do well on it.

Dont you think they are too similar in style? Why do you think they would be close off the pitch?

Would love to see Lyle Taylor sign for the Gas but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it happened.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility and it's exactly the type of signing I'd love us to make but it seems there are bigger clubs interested.
Decent all round player with a good injury record. At 28 he should be in his prime, bags of experience in L1 & L2 and 55 goals in the last 3 seasons.

Have followed Taylor’s progress since I saw him play for Bournemouth about 2010 or thereabouts. I would have seen him score for them and he was there at the same time as Joe P so they’ll know each other quite well. Both were on the fringes of the first team. Even then people at the club thought he was pretty good though I could not really see it and neither could most of the fans, he rarely looked a goal threat when he got the rare opportunity to play. He has done really well at Falkirk and Patrick in Scotland but at Sheffield U, Scunthorpe he never produced and was quickly shipped on. People at Bournemouth always seemed to like him which speaks well of him and the guy never lacked confidence, probably thinking he was better than the rest of us thought. But he has really found his right place at AFCW and he went there with perhaps not too many expectations. Were he to come here there would be lots of expectations. I’m really split over this one, his goal scoring isn’t prolific and he’s only really done it in Scotland. His goal record for AFCW isn’t bad but nothing great although consistent. If DC goes for him then I trust that judgement but I still reckon others might be a better choice, but I’m not sure who they are! UTG!

Too good for us but finished below us Yet done the double over us, including one of the best away performances of last season at the Mem. He may stay close to London. Pompey it is then...

Jusy my opinion, but I wouldn't say a 1 goal in 5 record at this level is too good for us.

Out of interest who's linking us to him is it anybody but the B Post who probably got the rumour form Gaschat? The national press seem to be linking him with moves to the likes of Sunderland not us? If the rumours are true does this mean Harrison is heading off to Blackburn to fund the move? Whilst Taylor's has been heavily linked with a move to Sunderland they couldn't even afford a £200K full back this week so you do wonder if they have the money to sign him.

The Daily Mail have linked him with Sunderland, Wigan, Southend and Peterborough, but also us.

Not sure he'd be that expensive TBH, I doubt he's Championship ready, P'boro have already got too many strikers so we just need to beat off the likes of Southend, assuming Sunderland don't have the cash. Hard to believe it I know but the deal could be less than Nichols cost us last summer!

Jusy my opinion, but I wouldn't say a 1 goal in 5 record at this level is too good for us. Last season he scored 18 in 52 appearances which is 1 goal every 2.8 games, better than any of our strikers. This is why statistics are not always that accurate as looking at Harrison’s stats over the last 3/4 years, you’d be tempted to write him off though we all know what a player he has been for us last season. Not that I particularly believe such rumours but a strike force of Harrison who scored 14 and Taylor who scored 18 last season does sound promising.

He also scored 10 league goals during the 16/17 season, the same amount as Nichols. 29 goals from 156 games at this level isn't anything to get carried away about. Hopefully If we did sign him he would get off to a better start than he did last season. If he goes 13 games without scoring my worry would be how the fan base would react, especially following Nichols' failings. However, I do quite like him as I've said before and if we can get him firing on a consistent basis we will have done well.

Crazy people think he might come here over Wigan and Sunderland. Sunderland have to off load before they can sign players, if he was off to Wigan wouldn't he have signed/is he really good enough for the Championship?
