Seen the Micheal Duffy rumour it came from a twitter account with about 40 followers and the account has existed about 2 weeks.... However I did see one saying ‘it looks like Lyle Taylor will be a Bristol rovers player’ from an account with close to a thousand followers and had good previous reports. Still believe it’s bullsh*t Loads of rumours on that thread twitter.com/ELsources, with one Gashead suggesting Duffy is a done deal but Luton were apparently watching him this week. Lumley to Wycombe is a sickner if true.

Michael Duffy is a good player. Got a goal and assist in him.
They have another talented winger called Pablo Cavalcante, a young lad who has impressed. Others like Jamie McGrath, Ronan Murray and Dylan Connolly are also decent.

Taylor failed to settle at a host of clubs, including Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United before signing from Wimbledon in 2015. He'll be a brave man then if he goes for the hat trick of clubs starting with an S in the north!

Without doing the bloke down he hasn’t done it anywhere except Falkirk, perhaps Patrick and 3 solid but not spectacular years at AFCW. If he goes to Sunderland at 28 years of age he’s doing it for one last good 2/3 year contract on good money. And you can’t blame him for doing that. There’s better out there. UTG!

I can’t see we’ll get Taylor...big rumours he’s off to the posh...never saw a lot in him when we played them to be honest so could be another gamble He’ll get better wages elsewhere

Are we now pricing ourselves out of bringing in good players, in the past you can see defintely got it wrong offering money for old journeyman players and were under managers who weren't cutting it as well.
Are situation is somewhat different now, we probably have one of the better managers outside of the prem. 2 promotions and mid table finishes on small budgets. Isn't now the time whilst we have DC to see whether or not his respect as an exciting manager that better younger players might want to come to us.

The conduct and rumours around transfers appears to be much more confidential than it used to be. We find out at the end as it should be now. UTG!

As far as Posh unless they've suddenly become the Man C of Div 1 then surely they can't be signing every decent player at this level, not sure what is real options are if Sunderland need to offload players and Southend have just signed Hooper. He'll probably end up signing a new contract at Wimbledon.

I kind of agree, but given the owners’ stated aim to build sustainably and responsibly, do we have much choice? We know we are still operating at a loss. We have to hope that DC continues to be canny in the transfer market and attract players of the quality of Sercombe, Bennett, Partington and Craig for practically no fees. Also, one of the best assets of him and the coaching staff is developing existing players. If the players we bring in this summer are of similar quality to the ones I mentioned above, you’d have to think that we’re not going to be far away next season. The other option is to go out on a limb and pay the bigger fees, but Nichols shows that there is no guarantee that this provides better players.

Whether Lyle arrives or not, with Rory off-ski, DC will probably bring in two strikers, we need goals, and a winger, and a left back, and Lumley in goal, DC must be busy. UTG

Two keepers already under contract though.Lumley's debut for us was at Walsall where he impressed.Only him and James Clarke played well that day and think it was Snakey's last goal for us before he sold his soul.Remember thinking how out of their depth Luke James and Broom looked that day but would love Lumley back.

Yes I saw it and saw him miss an open goal and looked most unlikely to score out of all their attackers...one good back heel ...watching it back Adam Smith needs to be off loaded

For what it’s worth I actually thought Lyle Taylor was decent that day as poor as our defending was.

I like Taylor but for me he's too similar to Ellis. I don't see either being back up strikers so not sure how he fits in. If Ellis was leaving then he'd be a really good replacement.
We need a back up to Ellis though and a fox in the box striker. Who they are, I have no idea!
