Yes because 3 points today would have been so much more helpful, than getting players back to match fitness. His post match interview is already up so why don't ya go have a listen and then come have a moan before the moment passes Yes I did I like listening to comedians what he did say a number of times is that We weren't good enough , not just the team. He has built this team over the last few seasons they are almost all his players and he admits we are not good enough which includes himself not being good enough how much longer are you happy to put up with this crap I bet Peterborough can't wait to play us on Saturday. When was the last time you were happy with a Rovers team? Genuine question, as it surely must be Ollie's team or possibly even as far back as the early 90s that we had a team that competes with this one for achievement or entertainment at this level.

Thought DC sounded very down understandably. So need the board to back him and spend the Ellis/Gaffers /Bodin money. Also we so desperately need something positive on the Colonoy/New re-build whilst smaller clubs seem full steam ahead with infrastructure improvements. The silence just goes on and on. James Clark played well and always gives 100%.Can see him starting at LB v P'Boro. Nichols needs to go out on loan in an attempt to find some OOMPH!!! Hope Parts,Sincs,Linesy and the new Huddersfield defender aren't too far away from full fitness. Big week coming up.Well done young Matthews.Don't think Bernard Mensah is ready. UTG.

Have we signed a very good left back, that will play by Xmas?? It looks to me as if we have signed a very good player[tariq-holmes] who we normally wouldnt be able to afford. Trouble is hes still recovering from a serious injury. My take on it is its a gamble which could work out very well or very badly but i think i understand the reasoning with signing him.

Positives: Thought the interviewer was better then the Bristol post chap who forgets where to point his microphone or the rovers one who mumbles his way through. Also DC seems to get what’s missing and I actually feel fairly confident we’ll make a signing and be competitive vs Peterborough.

The interviewer was Richard Latham, a quality experienced journalist, even if he supports those South of the river!

I really wish we were playing a team in a higher division today. Not looking forwardto the meltdown if we lose or draw or god forbid Exeter score with a header. One things for sure on here , there will always , always be a meltdown of some description. I rest my case ......

Clearly not good enough. Any decent manager would have followed up two consecutive promotions with another two and failure to then secure a champions league place in the 2018/2019 season would have shown him to be out of his depth, deservedly sacked immediately and replaced with a decent manager - someone like Alan Pardew or Chris Coleman.

Midland I suggest you take a breather as you seem to be losing the plot with your anti DC agenda, we've only lost a friendly today not the first half a dozen league games.

Biggest concern for me after today is our defence or lack of it. Exeter scored 4 and could easily have had 5 or 6. I was sure when their striker got between our centre backs and lobbed the ball of Slocombe it was bouncing into an empty net.
Exeter didn't have that much attacking play but looked like scoring almost every time they came forward. The worrying thing is that I think DC was planning on starting that defence next week and we don't have an awful lot of options. I said back in May I would have liked us to sign another CB and I still think we should. When you take into consideration Lockyers international call ups, Craigs age, potential injuries and suspensions, I think having Broadbent as the only natural backup is not enough and could come back to bite us.
Clearly we're lacking up front. We were punchless and failed to really trouble the keeper until the closing stages when Exeter had made 7 changes. I don't think some people realise how much we're going to miss Harrison. If it's true that DC has been given very little to replace him and Gaffney then we face the very real prospect of relegation.

Anyone else read Darrell comments about stockley as more an indicator were going for him than not? I reckon he’s calling their bluff.

To add some balance to the mini meltdown, I thought that was a really strange game in that the better side got stuffed 4-0! Two defensive shockers and a worldy from Boateng (no hint of that when he was here!) did for us in what was a decent performance but with no cutting edge. We need to remember that in the same way that beating WBA last pre-season didn't make us a promotion team, losing to Exeter doesn't make us a relegation team either. That said, there are some concerns. We played some good stuff on the deck but with Nichols on his own up front, it all unravelled as soon as it reached him. To be fair, he's not a lone striker but I'm beginning to lose patience with him. Accepting we don't yet know his weaknesses and therefore are likely only to see the good, I thought Reilly showed more movement and intent in his 30 minutes than Nichols had in the previous hour. Reilly and Mensah would look the best partnership from what we currently have and without a new striker by next week, I'd have no problem playing Mensah on his own up there. Upson and Matthews both impressed too (although I wonder if Matthews may be a tad predictable cutting inside all the time), but if there's one thing we learned today it's that we have to play Tony Craig at centre half. I like Broadbent and do feel he has potential, but at the moment he is miles behind Craig. Broadbent was bullied by Stockley (strong but possibly not mobile enough for a potential signing) and didn't win a header against him. Craig, despite being smaller, won everything in the air or used all the tricks in the book to force an error from the striker. We don't need a dominating centre half, we just have to play our best two together: Lockyer and Craig. So to Peterborough. Assuming no new signings or returns from injury I'd go with the following in a 4-5-1: Slocombe; Leadbitter, Lockyer, Craig, J Clarke; Upson, O Clarke, Sercombe, Bennett, Rodman; Mensah. I'd like to see more of Reilly but suspect a start might be too much so soon after injury and would exercise some caution at Peterborough anyway. Thanks for that 1970, good to read a measured account rather than a rant. I wasn’t there so won’t comment on something I haven’t seen but good to read what you’ve posted. As all the threads over the past few weeks have been about our lack of strikers I guess people today must have been shocked after conceding 4 to a team the league below. I suppose if nothing else it will have made DCs mind up about the central defenders for next week. As I only saw about 16/17 matches last season I can’t say with certainty but esp at home I always saw us play better with two strikers which usually meant 442. If we are going to play 1 up front then I’m surprised it is Nichols although at the moment we don’t have a choice. Without at least two strikers coming in the team is going to be under pressure right from the start. Important week coming up I reckon. UTG!

I think DC said the fee was modest and determined on an appearance basis so the gamble is the lad's wages. If it's a year with an option to extend then a gamble worth taking. Might need a loan as cover as Craig's legs are not up to playing left back.
