Well Matt Green was present at Lincoln's press conference this afternoon discussing the season ahead. So unlikely that he's in the middle of a transfer to a club almost 200 miles away... Seems unlikely to be him then.

I think of all the names mentioned Matt Green would be the most disappointing.
He's 32 in January and well past his best. He peaked in his mid twenties scoring 56 in 92 appearances for Mansfield. Since then his average has dropped to 1 in 3.5, scoring 40 in 141 league appearances. Last season he got 13 in 45 appearances for Lincoln in L2.
Problem is he's definitely on the downward spiral and he's never had a decent goal return above L2. Can't believe he's the best we can do.

One of the very few things I dislike about DC is his knack of making each transfer sound like war and peace.
Bradford sell a player and bring a new one in the same day. We sell one asap and then enter into protracted negotiations that sound like we are trying to secure the release of hostages.
I wish we were as efficient at signing players as we are at getting shot of them!

This is the club that signed Nichols for 350k, going by that standard this guy is perfect for us.

Rumour on EFL Insider it could be Matt Green from Lincoln. Born in Bath, played youth football for City, decent scoring record and 6ft tall. I can see this happening. He also used to bang them in at Mansfield, DC’s club so no doubt the manager knows a bit about him. At 31, he’s been around the block and I actually think he would be an alright signing. Would be an incredibly disappointing signing. 12 goals in open play from 45 appearances in League Two last season and 8 goals in open play from 42 appearances during the 16/17 season.

We’ve never been close and play at the Mem. It’s an entirely different sell and they could have had the signing lined up pending some incoming cash

To be fair that's not too dissimilar a record to EH ..it's the potential we've sold there. However, posts further down the thread suggest it's not Green anyway. Whatever...it's a number nine we want and whilst a good goal record would be a plus, what it looks like we need most is the lone striker that can hold the ball up long enough that Sercombe, Bennett, Matthews, Rodman and co can get up alongside him and feed off the lay-offs. So a record of ten or less goals a season isn't necessarily bad news...mind you I thought that about Beardsley and he helped take us down!

I know what you're saying and sort of agree but we lost 20-25 goals a season when Taylor left, 15-20 when Bodin left and 10-15 when Harrison left. That's a lot of goals and although I do think our midfield will chip in with a few, we are going to need our strikers to contribute 35+ between them in my opinion.

Yes and also had a long spell out injured with the dreaded ACL which he him took 18 months to recover from according to wiki profile. Would be silly in my view to spend money on a player who is now a lower league journey man, who will not improve and have no sell on value. Would rather we took a chance on Healey if available.
