Well, that's made the end of my holiday more bearable! Well done to DC and the team. How many Gas made the journey? Perfect day with the Sh1t getting done 2-0 at home by Middlesborough. The Sh1t are normally their bogey team, so hopefully that indicates they are in for a crap season. UTG. 1028.

Well done DC and Rovers, played well today against a poor side which if they continue to play like that will be heading back to League 2. What was pleasing to me was that we looked so much better on the ball compared to them. Payne again had a fine game, not the tallest but definitely gives us a presence. Tom Nichols really looked a player today, thought his passing, hold up play and positioning were very good and he nearly scored too!Plus I thought he put himself about physically today. I think going forward we'll be fine this season its just the back line still needs work. We're up and running, UTG.

DC won. Armchair experts and trollers didn't. 3 points from 3 games ? Nothing to write home about to be honest!

My comment is based on the comments from all the wannabes posting nonsense before 3pm today - many of whom genuinely believe they can do better from their armchairs than one of our greatest ever managers.

Wasn't hard vast majority of the teams in this division were above us this morning But answer the question what do you want from DC? The team he picked today put in a good attacking display and with a bit of luck would have scored more and bar a missed clearance by Broadbent would have kept a clean sheet. If you read my posts regularly you will know exactly what I want from DC , for a clue look at my avatar

Give it a rest Eric lets see how good this team is when it faces a decent standard of opposition. DC will never be as good as Gerry as he has taken us as far as he can imo

Eric my point and I still think it stands is dc will favour opportunities to Tom Nichols over Reilly and Jakubiak because he paid the money for him last year which could and will hinder his progress. We all know that Tom could t hit a barn door with a shovel yet dc continutes to try and justify his signing at the expense of his team

Have you any new suggestions to replace him with? Southgate, Coleman, Pep?

Great performance today, lots of positives and really should have been out of sight before Wycombe gave us a nervy last 10. I had my doubts seeing 4 centre backs and no wingers but it really worked today. I'm not a fan of Sercs playing out wide but today he played well out there, Matthews was again impressive and the front two fantastic. Payne is exactly what we needed and was still sprinting closing down the keeper in the last minute, full of running and effort with quality to go with it. It was also the best I've seen of Nicholls.
DC got it spot on today and even know Wycombe were poor we had to do what we have struggled to do over the last couple of years and win away and we did convincingly, even if the scoreline didn't suggest that.
Still things we need to improve on but we're off the mark and going in the right direction for sure. Tough game on Tuesday next up but I believe we can beat them.
Enjoy your weekend fellow gasheads!

We all know that Tom could t hit a barn door with a shovel yet dc continutes to try and justify his signing at the expense of his team However, if Nichols turns in more performances that are of today's standard then it will be a benefit to his team rather than detrimental to it. It takes more than one game to reverse a reputation built on a season's worth of disappointment but if you don't play him after he's shown 1028 Gasheads what he really can do then he'll never have a chance of redressing last season's shortcomings. Time to give him a break...he must be impressing in training to get ahead of Reilly and Jakubiak - and DC will be just as anxious to prove he was right about them two as he is about TN so I don't think the favouritism because of the fee paid argument has any legs. Mind you, knowing DC and his separate projects he may well have already prepared the team for Pompey regardless of who had a good game today and wouldn't put it past him to have Bennett for Nichols inked in as one of his changes...have a feeling he is expecting KB to want to put in a blinder to prove to Jackett he deserved a better treatment last season.
