If you read my posts regularly you will know exactly what I want from DC , for a clue look at my avatar [br You still haven’t answered the question, we know you want DC out, it’s getting boring now. Have you any new suggestions to replace him with? Southgate, Coleman, Pep? his suggestion is Holloway but obviously he doesn't actually mean any of it. Goes down the pub has a good laugh with his mates about winding up gaschatters.

out of interest, do you know where they are now shown? Used to be Goal Rush on Chanel 5 but not seen it on. Then again there’s always YouTube. Virgin Chnl 172, 9pm Holloway on the programme telling the owners to get there cash out and back D.c. still talking crazy. 🤪

It was very much a 4-4-2 with Matthews and sercombe out wide. They kept swapping wings and drifted inside to their more natural position to help out. Both fantastic today but not sure it'll work every week. If Matthews could use his right foot he would be one hell of a player. 2 up top and both played out of their skin. Seemed to be on the same wavelength, Nichols rightly got a standing ovation as he left the pitch. Couldn't ask for more other than a goal. But I think if he plays alongside Payne all season he'll score goals. He won headers free kicks and linked up the play well. Not sure how much that had to do with Wycombe poor defending though. Payne for me is every bit as good as Harrison. Excellent purchase. Craig left back doesn't work. James Clarke had a better game today against their winger who was their best player. Prefer slocombe to Smith but couldn't really see the save he made from the stand we were in. Ref was a cock. Didn't give anything against akinfenwa despite the number of times he used his hands to gain advantage. Overall a good win against a poor side. A bit harsh on Craig, I can't recall him making one mistake and also scored, not sure what more a back up full back is supposed to do! Each to their own mate and everyone sees it differently. Don't get me wrong I'm not slating the lad as I think for a centre back playing out of position he did ok. But he got forward very little and when he did he couldn't put a good ball in. I thought he looked lost when he won the ball and didn't know where to play it out to. Like I say I think he did okay for a centre back but he's not the answer to our left back problem. My main concern is that when our left back is fit DC will drop Broadbent and put Craig back in the middle which I think is a mistake.

Great performance today, lots of positives and really should have been out of sight before Wycombe gave us a nervy last 10. I had my doubts seeing 4 centre backs and no wingers but it really worked today. I'm not a fan of Sercs playing out wide but today he played well out there, Matthews was again impressive and the front two fantastic. Payne is exactly what we needed and was still sprinting closing down the keeper in the last minute, full of running and effort with quality to go with it. It was also the best I've seen of Nicholls. DC got it spot on today and even know Wycombe were poor we had to do what we have struggled to do over the last couple of years and win away and we did convincingly, even if the scoreline didn't suggest that. Still things we need to improve on but we're off the mark and going in the right direction for sure. Tough game on Tuesday next up but I believe we can beat them. Enjoy your weekend fellow gasheads! What is this 4 centre back meme? We had two full backs who have played centre back at times, but much more often at full back in their careers. We also had 2 centre backs who have played full back! I can remember James Clarke playing at centre back for about 5 games at Rovers!

Holloway on the programme telling the owners to get there cash out and back D.c. still talking crazy. 🤪 Holloway talks out of his arse, always has, always will. Holloway, the bloke who loves the Gas so much he walked out on us as soon as something better came up, twice as a player and once as a manager. Absolutely no problem with someone bettering themselves, but not after all the chest thumping, badge kissing, "I hate City" histrionics he came up with when with us. I went to an evening with Ian Holloway a few weeks ago at Jury's hotel, hosted by GT. He was very professional, Holloway was a twat, and started criticising the club for firing Holtby, who we all know is great mates with Holloway. There was no need of it, the owners weren't there to defend themselves, and it was completely out of context. The bloke annoys me as soon as he opens his mouth, especially on TV with his professional Bristolian accent. I just hope the rest of the country doesnt think every Bristolian sounds like that.

I think he did ok at left back for a defender who, in my opinion, seems more suited to the centre back role. But we could do better."

Don't know about anyone else but I'm still celebrating a win! I also think Matthews looks like a very good signing. He has energy, a good left foot, good close control, and can pick a pass. He needs a bit of 'beefing up' in the gym, but other than that he's looking good.

No idea about evening with thing, but to complain that he walked out on us three times in nonsense. He was sacked as manager and when he left us for QPR as a player he was moving to the Premier League! Of course he went. Who wouldn't? I'm not suggesting I'd want him back as a manager now (I think his time as a manager has gone now), but to distort the facts about a Rovers legend like that is frankly ridiculous.

Yeah as a player he’s a legend and as our manager he so nearly won promotion but probably ruled with his heart a bit too much and not enough with his head which is understandable considering he was inexperienced as a manager and had a very close bond to our club. As for leaving for QPR they were premier league , he ran their midfield probably earned at least 3 times what he was earning for us and I could be wrong but they finished 3rd one year with him there. Can’t blame him for that. I wouldn’t swap him for DC now though.
