Whatever point you are trying to make with this sentence is irrelevant as his best season at the club for us was last season. What was the main difference last season? His work rate. (and consistency) Using a more objectively verifiable metric of goals to games rather than just what you reckon his best season was the Conference when he scored 17 in 39. Neither last season or the conference was where he got criticised for being a little disinterested or not quite putting his all in. It was in between both those seasons. The seasons you are pointing out were not the seasons he looked short of interest. He admitted himself he needed a kick up the arse at times and hence the loan to Hartlepool.

Probably one of the worse performances I have ever seen - zero attacking threat and a complete lack of ability from all - Bonham should have been MOM simply for his 1on1 save first half - no shots and no flair against a poor side. 3 points were important tonight but major problems if we continue to be so defence minded! Blimey if you think that where were you for big chunks of the 2000s and 2012-14? Unless you are new, and if so welcome and get used to it this is BRFC not Man City. 😀 It wasn’t the best match but it was an important 3 points and tbh I would prefer that at the moment considering our position. You are correct about having a defensive mindset at the moment although we did show attacking intent for periods of the game. UTG!

There was a 30 page thread from the Conference season saying he should go out on loan.

Harsh on Jakubiak. The kid has potential.
He does but we need someone to deliver now, not next year or 2 years time when he is back at his parent club.
Thing for me with these higher division loans, is do they really want to be here. i don't know if anyone else noticed, but during the warm up for the Accrington game both Jak & Kelly were being put through their paces by the fitness coach. Neither of them were in the squad either lack of fitness, minor injury or just left out, but Kelly was busting a gut during that session & Jak didn't break a sweat & to me seemed disinterested. May be wrong but that's my perception, similar to the Chelsea lads we had, it's all very well seeing these youngsters employing their skills with other of the same age, but they don't train day in day out with men until they go out on loan, there are very few in my opinion that can cope - the kiddy at Villa, that spent a season with the s*** sticks out as one who can. I think we would be better off giving the occasional starts to one of our own development squad.

Spot on toddy about giving priority to our own development squad if they are good enough. And we only find that out if we play them. Istr that Luke Russe did ok against MKDons last season. I would also like to give our own a chance and tbh, I’m sure Deon Moore would put in a lot more effort than Payne did for his 10 minutes last night. UTG!

What i find depressing is that its already obvious that were going to struggle next season if we stay up or get relegated. Blimey bb let’s worry about this season without worrying about next season. Now that would be what I find depressing! UTG!

Really, I reckon with the right two frontmen, the rest of the team could be salvaged into playoff contenders. Well, quite. But we don`t have the right two front men; nor does it appear likely that we`re going to acquire them.

But we don`t have the right two front men; nor does it appear likely that we`re going to acquire them. We have seen the cost of frontmen with sales of Harrison and Gaffney, two players who imo wouldn't even have made the first team before the riches of Sky came into the game. The fact is we are not prepared to invest in adequate replacements which has always been Rovers trademark. We can cricitise all we like, manager, players, tactics, but until we invest enough money to get someone who can score we will always struggle unless we get lucky with a young player or two.

Hope your right but from the evidence of my own eyes i feel like the die is cast regarding our fortunes this season and next. Very poor recruitment[it seems] and a lack of physicality and height has made me feel pessimistic. Ive watched every home game and i honestly dont think we have been better than anyone we have played. At last nights game i wondered how we would get on with this team in league 2 and came to the conclusion we would struggle. So i think we could well struggle if we stay up or go down but i might wrong of course.

Its so sad that a fantastic chance to really move the club onto better things on the back of a very good team and increased support has been frittered away.

I understand your feeling bb. But I guess if we stay up this season you could call it furthering consolidation. It’s more the off the field negativity and the over whelming silence that surrounds the owners that has frittered away a lot of good stuff. DC has been left to do the best he can with few attacking options. And I will certainly be happy if we stay up as I know you will. UTG!

Don't worry it's been exactly the same away, although Wycombe were shocking they should have got a draw against us. In fact all our wins could have been different if not for the oppositions finishing, but hey thats L1 for you. I really dont get you bb, you criticise me for being overly negative then you drop a load of negative bombs yourself randomly. This season I have not seen one positive comment from away fans about our team and under DC that is unheard of.

My perception of your posting is that you wont give credit where credit is due and there is some underlying bitterness against the club. To me you talk sense but without balance. The negative bombs are a result of a realisation after a fair period of time that we have gone from being a bright and very decent league one team into a very poor team who might just get relegated. Adding to the misery is the fact that our owners seemed to have vanished and people without any serious money appear to want to take us over.
