Gillingham only had 2 shots on target the whole game too and guess what? 2 goals. Should have got something out of it, didn’t, story of our season. Stats say we had 24 shots (5 on target). Quality needed, not quantity. 😳

This is f**king madness. Same strikers same tactics. Same outcome. They're all crap that's the problem.

So it now seems obvious DC is taking us down so do the board just accept that or finally show some b@lls and sack him and employ a manager who may keep us up?

Whats was the att tonight? I heard over radio six something.. 6583 If that continues they will feel they have no option but to sack DC, as soon as it starts hitting them in the pocket they'll do something, whether that's misguided or not, who knows. I can't see this continuing much longer and the owners doing nothing though

Quality needed, not quantity. 😳 Truth is we didn’t really threaten them until they went down to ten men and by then the damage had been done. I went into this thinking we’d get a reaction from the players but they were so lacklustre and slow in possession. Really disappointed and upset now after seeing that.

Buggers know punishment training will be called off tomorrow anyway. The one pitch we do have the use of is already worn out.

I do fear for DC now ~ first time I've ever though that I am not going to keep backing up D.C . However: he did build up a 'good side' with Bodin Brown Taylor Harrison and this board sold all our best players. Very very difficult for a lower tier side to sale one striker after another. Why have the Gills still got Eaves or Rochdale Henderson ?. Its 30 % D.C and 70 % the board / backers to blame I.M.O. In general agree, although Henderson is almost 34! Thats why they've still got him.. they got him at a good time & he's getting better, not worse, but LBH he's not the best example of clubs hanging on to young excellent players. BTW - thought he was staggeringly good last season against us.

There is a very small chance a new manager 'may' keep us up. But the thing you can guarantee is that we will continue to be a ramshackle club with a poor side. So the odds are low.

Sadly in this day and age 'punishment training' is no motivation, it just wateres the players off even more. I heard a lower league manager interviewed a few weeks ago and he was saying that he just can't give them a boot up the arse anymore, this generation has been so Molly coddled at school that they just don't react to that kind of thing, they all have to be treated with kid gloves, given constant praise, support and encouragement otherwise they just toddle off to the safe spaces blubbering and whingeing on about being bullied.

DC put all his eggs in the "keeping Taylor" basket !! no other option !!! & in fairness his goals kept us up in the first season. as did Bodin's… As plenty of others have stated, DC's recruitment has been pi55 poor !! You haven't half twisted things to make it seem even worse! Taylor's goals kept us up? We waited all summer for Telford? I'm pretty sure the latter statement is complete rubbish, and the former is rubbish too. We finished top half in our first season back and got our highest points total since 99/00, hardly just staying up because of one striker's goals! It;s simple !. If the board had the vision and determination we would of kept Bodin Harrison Brown Taylor and would be a top 10 team. I understand that lower tier sides need to sell their best players but it's the speed we sold over a short period. This meant D.C at to replace 'star players' with less than 50% redistribution over a short period. I accept D.C have failed and seems unable to mold the new with the old. But the fact remains if we keep our 'star players' we would be sniffing the play off's now. So them above failed us too.

I can't see this continuing much longer and the owners doing nothing though Years ago that was true. Low crowds = sack, because ST sales were so low. Certainly did for Atkins & Graydon. Now I think it's not such a clear link, and DC has long contract. BTW - I don't want him sacked. No way.

If it's true and the ST holders are included in attendances whether or not they attend then that means 2,000 - 2,500 less walk ups, that isn't sustainable at our level of support, not only does it represent 25% of our attendance but a disproportionately high percentage of overall gate receipts as ST prices are a good deal less per game than pay as you watch.

18 shots and counting against 10 men no goals If we had a shot every time the crowd wanted one we'd be in to triple figures. Why does everyone shout shoot when we get within 50 yards of the opposition's goal? It really isn't helpful.

I hate to say it but ALL of your examples were either out of contract (brown), 5 months left (Taylor & bodin) or nearing end on contract (Ellis). The first three made it very clear they didn't wish to sign again. The only way to keep them would be to be in the championship / serious promotion chance last season.

I must admit I was concerned about DC coming out publicly and saying punishments would be dished out. Surely best left to the changing room/ training pitch?
It smacked a little of desperation
First time we are seeing him under intense pressure
For me he has to play 2 up top at home, playing Nichols on his own with out of form Bennett and Rodman looked weak on paper
But what options does he have? He is being let down by the players and my worry is he has now lost the dressing room
Sad times. And you can rest assured the owners don’t have a plan B
Training in the rain tomorrow won’t be a happy place to be I would imagine
