The board would have to pay off 3 years of DC’s contract or there abouts. Probably why they’re so hesitant to sack him. I doubt they have much sentiment towards the guy. I do, and I would be willing to let him try and get us out of this mess.
We pay him out, get a new person in, there’s what little budget we did have left for wages this season gone.

Looking at the table we're 4 points adrift of Oxford and scunny.... I guess to keep back on par without falling further away we need by halfway to have an average of a point per game so basically 8 points needed in the next five matches.... 2 wins 2 draws in 5 games

Years ago that was true. Low crowds = sack, because ST sales were so low. Certainly did for Atkins & Graydon. Now I think it's not such a clear link, and DC has long contract. BTW - I don't want him sacked. No way. If it's true and the ST holders are included in attendances whether or not they attend then that means 2,000 - 2,500 less walk ups, that isn't sustainable at our level of support, not only does it represent 25% of our attendance but a disproportionately high percentage of overall gate receipts as ST prices are a good deal less per game than pay as you watch. Again, I partly agree, BUT it was a Tuesday game in Nov with just over 100 away fans, so it's not an enormous, consistent, unsustainable reduction. The high level of ST sales sadly means the missing pay on the day fans had less clout that before. I say 'sadly' not because I want DC sacked, but because I want owners to be more accountable to fans. Not totally comparable to, say, Plymouth on a sunny Saturday. The prob with ST sales is that current performance and happiness levels affect next year's sales not this year's.

Don’t sack him. Mistakes have been made but they’re done. The best man to keep us up from here is DC

The two home games 2 points at best? We'll be 10 points adrift of safety after those games unless some sort of miraculous change in our form occurs

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. The 5th bottom team are four points above us - it was a one point gap before tonight. If results continue as they have been the gap will only grow

I must admit I was concerned about DC coming out publicly and saying punishments would be dished out. Surely best left to the changing room/ training pitch? It smacked a little of desperation First time we are seeing him under intense pressure For me he has to play 2 up top at home, playing Nichols on his own with out of form Bennett and Rodman looked weak on paper But what options does he have? He is being let down by the players and my worry is he has now lost the dressing room Sad times. And you can rest assured the owners don’t have a plan B Training in the rain tomorrow won’t be a happy place to be I would imagine Don't see any signs he has lost the dressing room - poor players and poor tactics have caused this !

Seems as though with that performance The Players must want DC sacked. They are offering very little - no passion at all in this Team. Fearing the worst as it seems like we cannot beat anyone. Thing that strikes me is first half we hardly win any 50/50 balls and the effort was poor second half we won most 50/50s and really wanted it. Why was the effort so poor first half , ? We lost that game in the first half because they weren’t switched on and giving it their all. Got to say though even though we were all over them last half hour we still couldn’t score from open play at home to a poor side with ten men. water poor I’m afraid. Just heard DC on radio Bristol and what I thought from it was he’s going to Summons the board for a meeting this week got a feeling he’s going to tell them straight a few things and might end up walking away or sacked.

What is he going to tell the board? Have a go at them for not giving him more money to spend on no-hopers like Nichols? The board are abdicating their responsibilities no doubt, but this is DC's team and DC's tactics and in both areas he just has not been good enough this season. If he left now it's hard to see how things could be worse.

I moved back to Bristol in July. The problem is me. Many years of success and then I come back and rovers are as sh** as they were when I was last here.
Don't worry I'm leaving again next month.
