If we somehow go to Wembley, would people actually go? Not for me. Each to their own and I wouldn’t give any stick to any fan that wanted to go, as I haven’t done up to now. But I don’t see why anyone would boycott the competition only until we get to the final, surely it sort of defeats the point of the boycott.

So that's an extra £40k, hopefully all into the transfer budget but I expect not. source? Any goss? Prize money Each EFL Club to receive a participation fee of £20,000, in addition to the following competition fund Group Stage: £10k for a win and £5k for a draw Round Two: £20k for a win Round Three: £40k for a win Quarter Final: £50k for a win Runner-up: £50k Winner: £100k £20K for participating, £20K for winning 2 games in the group stage, £20K for R2, £40K for R3 = £100K winnings so far by my calculations.

So although it's a sh** trophy, one more win could bring in a bit of money. Plus the team could get to play at the Ethiad or Stamford Bridge, which can be good for team spirit.

Great result. GC is certainly working wonders with this squad and seems to have them all onside.
Didn’t watch the game but very positive comments about Broadbent in his post match which is great and can only give us more options and desperately needed height at centre back (although Craig has been playing very well recently).

Feel the same, fundamentally can’t and won’t ever financially support a competition which will ultimately lead to B teams being introduced into the league

Its all starting to get a little interesting now and people are maybe slowly changing their minds on the competition the closer we get to Wembley.
The problem is Harvey and his EFL buddies have been able to use the decent attendances from the recent finals to announce the competition a success after recently well supported teams have got there. It really does need to B teams to get to a final with a tiny attendance. Although they will still probably try and swing it by saying B teams are good enough to be in the competition! Sunderland are giving them far too much ammunition with their high attendances which isn't good!
I would fly back in a heartbeat for a play off final (as I did in 2015) and I probably would have in the past for the old version of the FL trophy. Not this one though.
I cant imagine we would take more than 30k, probably much less than that. Then our red friends will also try and taunt us with this without actually understanding why so many stayed away!
Have the FL even found a new sponsor for this competition for next season? I understand that Chekatrade did not renew theirs.
Anyway, we will probably end up getting Portsmouth away in the next round which would end the Wembey debate!

So you're happy to support U21 clubs presence in lower league competition? 16k at the Sunderland Newcastle game Not my question. That fixture is hideous in itself and should massively hammer home the prospect of our next derby being against City U21's.

Nope I don't particularly desire U21 teams in the EFL but I don't believe it will happen. You obviously do, so I will respect your opinion and not get in a fight with you.

I paid a tenner last night and we all sat down to watch it. It seemed a bit bobbins with one camera following the action, and it seemed to swing around an awful lot, and probably wouldn't be suitable for people who suffer motion sickness.
What was interesting was that the visuals were paired with the Radio Bristol Sport commentary, Ed Hadwin and Keith Brookman I believe. The commentary described the game very well, I was impressed with the accuracy and content. By definition, you never get to compare the game with the commentary, and it was excellent.
Does anyone know how my tenner was divided up?

Does anyone know how my tenner was divided up? The club stated recently that the vast majority of the £10 went to the club. Only guessing, £8 or £9 to the club?

I imagine, all the posters offering the opinion that now, as we get closer to the final, more people will turn up and people will break their boycotts, and the people asking who is gonna turn up, and Shaun Harvey who uses every attendance to tout the success of his god-awful shitshow of a format.

I like the little dance that GC does just before he is about to answer a question. Maybe it was a cold night.
