What is the connection with attending these matches and the U21 playing in the EFL? The big clubs have so much money and power they do what they want. So if no one turns up for this cup they will do it anyway won't they? I agree very strongly they shouldn't be in this cup or our league, but will they listen to the fans of smaller clubs anymore? Football is like retail, big supermarkets and corner shops, then Tesco Express come along to f**k up the corner shop.

Football is like retail, big supermarkets and corner shops, then Tesco Express come along to f**k up the corner shop. Because every time Shaun Harvey opens his gob to justify the competition he invokes the attendances, and he's already proposed B teams in the EFL. You can ask 'will they listen' and that's a reasonable question, but the only thing we have that can be listened to is not turning up.

According to the start of the report by whatever the Evil Post calls itself these days 'Bristol Rovers advanced into the quarter-finals of the Checkatrade Trophy with a 2-1 win over Northampton Saints'
A try each for Broadbent and Payne?

Yeah, if you look at the bloke's (John Evely) twitter, he's obviously more interested in rugby than football. I guess, with the state of the Bristol Post, we're lucky that we even get a sports fan covering us. It'll be the cookery writer next.

Prize money Each EFL Club to receive a participation fee of £20,000, in addition to the following competition fund Group Stage: £10k for a win and £5k for a draw Round Two: £20k for a win Round Three: £40k for a win Quarter Final: £50k for a win Runner-up: £50k Winner: £100k £20K for participating, £20K for winning 2 games in the group stage, £20K for R2, £40K for R3 = £100K winnings so far by my calculations. Disgraceful that our owners aren't prepared to spend their own money on this club rather than raising funds from prize money.

They have just given GC a two and a half year contract when they could have just given him one to the end of the season, isn't that investing in the club and showing commitment? What else can they invest in at the present time? Unless they are outright liars, which some on here think they are, they seem to be looking for land for a stadium and training ground which if true is the reason why our own stagnates at the moment and we are not investing huge amounts in the Mem.

Isn't it nice to see journalists asking a Rovers manager some wide ranging questions and not being frightened to do it !

I was just doing a joke about this: As far as capital expenditure why aren't the owners prepared to spend even a penny on the Mem, why does it all have to come from sponsorship, if they don't want to spend any if their own money then it's baffling why they ever got involved in football club ownership. Did they really think Rovers would be self sufficient when mot league clubs run at a loss? What happens when all the equity is gone in the Mem? Â

What happens when the equity is exceeded and the sprinklers don't shoot fifties any more?

Because I'm interested in seeing Rovers' progress in a holistic sense, the result is important in the context of the new manager etc. It's also the whole picture which means I'm boycotting. So if u boycott Sainsburys u still shop there ? u need to look up the definition of boycott Gas fans still boycotting Sainsburys...!
