ggmi: ''Just chose to ignore it, the bloke was a sh** keeper for us so his posts and opinions are pretty irrelevant''
As in;..... ''I haven't got the wit to reply; or the modesty to admit my error''

I would play the following Smith, LEDs, Parts (sure he could do left back for one game, Menyanese, Broadbent, Bennett, Sincs, Lines,Matthews, Payne and Nichols. All could do with game time. Not sure how much Hargreaves will influence things, but I would only have a few youngsters on the bench. Definitely Russe and probably Kilgour who is/was doing very well on loan in the National League and one from Walker, Bagdadi, Moore and maybe Andre Jnr. The rest would be first teamers, if we need them to come on late in the game. With the prize money on offer we can't ignore this competition. PS are there only 1 u-21 left in the southern draw? (Chelsea?). 4 of the selected outfield players have to have started against Burton....or start the next L1 game

With three U-21 teams in the last 16, (Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle) there has to be a moderate possibility that at least one U-21 team will make the final. The main focus of the competition for clubs and sponsors is the Wembley final. One U-21 team at Wembley would greatly reduce the attendance and two U-21 teams would mean a tiny gate which would surely make Checkatrade wonder why they bothered to be sponsors.

Actually there is another clause to the "Compulsory 4"...they can count if not started last game/starting next game IF they have over 40 appearances OR are in the top 10 for current season.
So both Sercombe and Lines (and others of course) qualify by virtue of having over 40 club appearances, despite not starting against Burton

Accrington v Chelsea could be an interesting attendance, although knowing Harvey's luck so far it'll be Sunderland v Pompey and Wembley would be sold out.

Love the gas to get to the final on 31st March, especially if we are safe in the league by then. Would be a good day out in those circumstances for sure.

More fool those that would want to miss out on a day out to Wembley, we won't have many of them in our life time, whatever age you are!

I couldn't stand to have my presence used by disingenuous cocks like Shaun Harvey to justify U23s playing against senior teams, and making the lower leagues essentially second class.

Perhaps Newcastle U21's can beat Sunderland to stop the final the powers that be want.

You can get fined for making more than 5 changes. Unless that has changed? You can make 6 changes to the outfield players this season, the remaining 4 must have started against Burton OR will start against Accrington. Or have over 40 starting appearances (Any pro club) OR be in the top 10 Rovers appearances for this season Our starting appearances chart is: Craig 26 Clarke O 23 Clarke J 22 Lockyer 21 Upson 18 Sercombe 16 Nichols 15 Payne 13 Kelly 12 Bennett 12 ------------------------------------------ Leadbitter 11…….Over 40 Sinclair 10…...….Over 40 Rodman 10........Over 40 Lines 10............Over 40 Reilly 9........Over 40 Jakubiak 7....EPL Registered Broadbent 7 Partington 6......Over 40 H-Dennis 5.......Over 40 Matthews 5

No, I know what he was getting at. Just chose to ignore it, the bloke was a sh** keeper for us so his posts and opinions are pretty irrelevant keeper for who GGMI is correct, Fabian Spiess was on loan to us in 14/15 and played a few games around the Christmas period. When we won at Torquay on Boxing Day he gave away a bloomer of a goal which didn’t cost us fortunately. I guess that’s what GGMI was referring to. UTG!

www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2019/january/match-preview-northampton-town/Here we go boys - Next GC challenge as opposed to DCs projects. Don't care whose boycotting what all I want is a Gas win. I think we will put a strong side out as GC will want to win this one after the Burton game. It keeps our season going and means we go into Saturday's game at Accrington more confident. Disregarding our 6-0 win at Northampton, them and Accrington are places we don't get much from so we need as much confidence as we can get going to Accrington after their win v Ipswich Saturday .

It's fairly easy to put out what looks a strong side by using all non playing 1st team players from the Burton game, subject to the cup rules re appearances, but whether the likes of Payne turn up is different matter. Smith Leads Rollin Broadbent Parts Matthew Lines Clarke Bennett Payne Nichols
