I'm the same, we want them to stay forever but the reality is that most players have ambition to play as high a level as possible and we probably wont be in a position to offer anything near that in my lifetime.

It also irritates me when average players score a few goals and go for at least a million, whilst ours seem to leave well below what we would value them at. I dont know how clubs like Peterborough manage signing expensive players on 4 year deals, but they seem to manage it on smaller crowds. All comes down to the new stadium which is why its so vital for our club.

I don't know how they do it. I know they have a policy that whenever a player is within a year of his contract, he immediately goes onto the transfer list.

Harrison I had absolutely no problem with his transfer. IMO we got exactly his worth. Bodin I accepted through gritted teeth, but ultimately we received good money for 6 months left on his contract. Taylor is obviously Taylor. Brown angered me. Lockyer f*cked me right off.

It's why when Ellis returns later this season, I'll try to specifically come to that game and I'll give the bloke a standing ovation. The fact he was there today sums it up for me.

Yeah apart from Ellis the rest went for a song or free. Agree with every word of your post Gassy. Its pretty clear already who our most important players are and we should make sure they are tied down, especially Kilgour who ive been well impressed with for a lad in his first year of 1st team league football.

Same old Oxford. I remember a few years ago when we beat them. Put local radio on and all their fans were just moaning and whinging about the ref. They just can't accept defeat.

I mean in terms of how he reacted, or rather didn't react, to the vile abuse from some so called fans.

The challenge on Kilgour apparently wasn't good (far side from me so hard to see) but to an extent that is part of the game. All in all, he behaved better than some in the crowd did.

It seemed to be rent a mob day. Even in the West, which is as genteel as the 'cricket pavillion' setting might suggest, there were a couple behind me screaming abuse at him throughout. Maybe they usually stand elsewhere but I hadn't seen them before. I hope I don't again.

If you look at mark robbins comments when he joined us and the contracts we have given tony craig,mensah and nichols i reckon he has at least a full year after june 2020.
