Bolton 3-1 down at home to Rochdale. A chance for us to bounce back on Tuesday if ever there was one. Pompey ( our game after) also 0-0 v Wimbledon.
Think Pompey will sack Jackett before Saturday. Hopefully not because if they do they’ll almost certainly win.

Why did you add "for a striker that is"? I have never seen anyone so utterly pathetic in the blue & white quarters. Lovely hair though. Because Im sure that we have had worse finishers at our club during our history than Tom...I hope we have at least given that he is still starting for us today.😨😕 He is by far,far the worse finisher for any striker we have had that I can remember. Micky Evans, Luke James & Payne have been equally poor, it seems DC/MS were good at identifying non goal scorers!

To be fair, Doncaster are a good footballing side...we aren't. Kick and rush is only going to get us so far I'm afraid. The Radio Bris commentator just sounded surprised that we strung some passes together late into the second half - which kinda says it all really! I'd love us to try and emulate the sort of football that Doncaster have made their trademark. I knew we’d see you pipe up again with your usual negative views once we started to lose again. How can you say that we are a poor footballing side if all you ever do is listen to us in the radio? With respect I think you're just seeing the parts of my posts that play in to your narrative - I held my hands up that Rovers had surpassed my expectations by getting to fourth and I was starting to admit I might have got it wrong. But the problem is it's easy to get to 4th beating the likes of MK Dons, it's against sides like Doncaster we are likely to get found out as we have been today and that's only a negative view if you live in some la-la-land where you expect Rovers to be promotion contenders. We aren't good enough to be that, imo. We've had a good run but if you were honest with yourself it's from mostly beating the weaker teams- look at the top 10 at the moment, we've only beaten Oxford. I am critical of the style of football because imo it's not the style of football that successful teams use in this division. Maybe we aren't playing long ball football and the commentators and fans on this very forum are telling lies. There has been scant praise for the football even when we have been winning games and the low gates would also suggest that the football ain't great. Anyway, perhaps it would be easier if in future you just tell me what you want to read and I post something along those lines? We can rename it the Axegas forum, how's about that?

The Team's performance is fine, his, is consistently crap. Now he's costing us points. Again. Utter nonsense, we've been poor today from the kick off, anybody thinking we'd have won if TN had scored clearly isn't watching the match. We'd have been 1 up if the useless idiot hadn't missed a penalty.

Doncaster are a good side and although I wasn’t there to comment on our performance, I think today was just a bridge too far for us with the injuries that we were facing, it will be a massive boost for us when we get the likes of JCH, Little and Sercs back.
Two home games against struggling sides to bounce back from this now and continue our excellent home form. We’ve got plenty of reasons to remain positive, outside of the playoffs on goal difference with this being our best start in this division in many a year.

I assume GC wanted him to take the penalty because it was 0-0 at the time, and a pen is a relatively easy way to score and boost TN's low confidence.
It must have seemed a reasonable decision at the time, but I fear that TN's confidence has packed up and moved out of town permanently.

It's a reality Check for everyone who thinks we have a realistic chance of sustaining any sort of play off push. We are far too inconsistent and rely too much on one player to carry us

Look I have no problems with negativity on this forum, it’s a part of life and when Rovers are concerned it’s probably justified for the most part. Keep on criticising Rovers for all I care, this forum needs a variety of options, it would be boring if we all said the same things. What irritates me though, is when people make broad generalisations about our style of play and try to justify it with “the commentator on the radio said this” ect. If you have read this forum in the last couple of weeks, there a have been a fair few comments about how the football is improving under Coughlan at home and the fact that gates are increasing only backs that up.

Time to play him in the reserves, hope he gets a few and plays his way back in to the side. To be honest when JCH got injured I thought he’d definitely start with Adeboyjo and one of TN or TS as he’s the bigger and more powerful out of the three.

Donny have been on a poor run of form and only been averaging around a Ipswich game, they are hardly Ipswich, although missing two of our best players in JCH and Sercs can't help. You've kind of contradicted your earlier posts here Topper. To be clear, I STILL think Nicholls is a Twat and a useless C###.

He went on to score a boatload for Plymouth when his condition was treated. Luke James. Useless piece of sh*t. Cost us nothing and found his level playing in the Conference. Payne. Useless, lazy piece of sh*t who we realised quite quickly was never going to cut it at the Gas. 2 from 20 though. F*cking prolific against the pathetic goal scoring record of trainee hairdresser Tom f*cking Nicholls. F*ck off Tom, you are a waste of space.

FT: Donny 2-0 Gas. Didn't expect anything - Didn't get anything. Neither did I, as stated at the start of his thread. What can't be argued is that missing a penalty in such a poor fashion cannot be excused. Who knows what would have happened if he'd scored. At the worst it would have been 2-1.

Fair points- I hold my hands up I rely on word of mouth a fair bit along with the bits and pieces I saw of us under Coughlan last season and other fans may actually see a different game to the one the Radio Bris commentator describes. He certainly made it sound today like we only started playing football mid way through the second half at 2-0 down and for a small period of time put Doncaster under pressure by actually playing some football.
