That shambles today was a pitiful as it comes when it comes commitment to the game, shame on you Rovers and as for the two comedians in our midfield, Upson and Ogogo.... i'm sure Laurel and Hardy could have done better Upson was by far the worst of a very bad performance by all today. He did the square root of jack all. Unless you call joining in with the game of pass it across the back 4 all sodding 90 minutes. |

Bit unfair on Ogogo, at least he put meaningful tackles in on occasion.
Yesterday was the first time I witnessed an away support totally out sing our home support
And to top it off to hear them sing "Is this a library" - just about sums it up

We looked as devoid of creativity as the opening games of the season yesterday. Maybe we should go back to 3-5-2 against Swindon and give Menayese a start?

GC seems reluctant to give Menayese a start, especially in a back 3. Perhaps he's worried about a lack of mobility with both Craig and Menayese in a back 3? However, our best days have been with the 352 formation. It shows the value of Davies to the team. If he's not keen on Menayese (for whatever reason), GC needs to find a central defender in January.
However, generally defence isn't the problem with this team. It's creativity and goals where the major problems lie.

People going on about 3-5-2 but we played that against doncaster,bolton and portsmouth and we were most terrible in those games. Lord knows how we are 9th ? Maybe GC is bribing refs or some'at ! Were 9th because we have more points than 15 other teams not because of any particular formation. |

Quite rich for someone so damning about DC's Walsall drawing at home to a non league side also. Some would say hypocritical. Actually I’d have said similar after a cup disappointment during the D.C. era. One game doesn’t make a season, which is why I’m still a fervent supporter of what he did during his time in charge. I also said I hoped we’d do better without D.C. owing to his record in the cup. This still can be achieved despite some who you’d imagine we’re hoping we would lose just to have a pop at GC with a semblance of validity. As I said in my last post context is everything and the abuse GC gets when a solitary win could see us move up to joint 3rd is outrageous. Feel for the bloke because nothing he can do is right according to some. There were chants on the east terrace calling for him to quit because of 80 mins of poor football when we’re having our best season statistically in at least 10 possibly 20 odd years? Right here goes: It was me who shouted to GC to resign. Before today, I self-imposed a ban on shouting anything detrimental during a game, as well as trying to find positives when discussing the Gas with friends or on this forum.
Yesterday it ended! the performance was that bad!
Let me explain where I am coming from, but I also realise I will be destroyed for my view.

I contend, that if we play a better style of football, we may flirt and even succumb to relegation, but the crowds may come back. I (and there may be others) prefer to watch some good entertainment, bringing the crowds back, may help to stave of any threat of losing the team I love, have loved for 30 years, and will continue to love, come hell or high water.

Problem is with the squad he's been left to work with can anybody else really do any better? We've got no skilful players at the club, summed up by the best option yesterday from the bench was Leary! As another poster said earlier do we accept GC trying to grind out results in mid table or try and play attractive football and then fight relegation? |

Respect for putting your hands up but the question Id put to you is does shouting that at GC make us play any better? Does it make GC likely to resign? I’d say not. Again context is everything. 12 months ago under one of our most successful and popular managers ever we were in a similar state on the pitch but losing matches and stuck to the bottom of the league. Dour it may be but he’s not happy with it either, we’re getting results, and it looks like it’s a function of the team at hand rather than the current manager. There’s a hell of a lot of negativity around here too owing to the off the field inertia. That won’t go away if GC went. I agree it’s not nice to watch though - I thought twice about going yesterday as either way we’d lose. Big win - it’s a small team, narrow win - not good enough. Draw - why are we drawing with a non league side? Lose and it’s the end of the planet. |

Fair play for your opinion, different to mine but that's what the forum is for. For this year I'm happy to put up with ugly and safe or better still ugly and a chance of the playoffs, going forward I've always preferred a 5-4 sort of result win or lose but for that we need some creativity and pace that we simply don't have. |

I make it... Craig and Kilgour(can you count him as he hardly featured before this season) both of whom has been getting good reports.Kelly who was an understudy to brown.Sercombe who fans still rate.Rodman ok I will give you him and nicholls nobody wants him.So 2 thirds of yesterdays side was gcs signings
