Having vested human interests over there, I find this descent into anarchy on the streets truly frightening. With what appears to be active encouragement from the cops will anyone be surprised if the afro American community do not respond in kind? Especially with a complete asshole in the White House fanning the flames as he desperately tries to hold on to the Presidency. With respect the Afro American community have to take some of the blame for what is happening right now. After watching the video a few times I agree with William Wilson. In an era where it is taboo to appropriate someone else’s experience and claim it as our own it is not really surprising that everyone seems able to appropriate the experience of a cop with a live weapon and a suspect who won’t obey orders as he reaches into his vehicle for God knows what and judge them from the safety of their armchairs. It’s easy to say “he should have waited to see what the suspect did” but that scenario must be one of the toughest the human mind can endure and rational decision making Is beset by the panic that you could lose your life in a few seconds. All the training in the world won’t prepare you for when it happens for real with live bullets and an unpredictable target. There is no empathy for that tortured decision making from the protesters though, they don’t care about any other detail apart from white cop, black victim, the rest is just noise and now the town is going to burn and more people are going to die just because the guy would not obey orders and reached into his car. That was the spark in the whole tinder box. Yeah right 365. So a white 17 year old murders two protesters. The 2nd one about 100 yards in front of a police line. He then walks towards the police line with that same rifle swinging across his chest. The police do no confront him, do not challenge him, absolutely do not raise their weapons to confront him. He gets away and is arrested latterly in another State. Black guy, unarmed, is confronted by the police in an alleged domestic dispute situation. He turns away to his car containing three kids. He gets shot 7 times in the back. Now compare and contrast the two situations and tell me the afro American community have a case to answer. For f**ks sake are you blind? Or just inherently racist. Why, or how, can you excuse that?

Later, he is shown being pursued by a group of people one of which appears to fire into the air. The teenager turns to see where the sound is coming from as another person tried to attack him. At that point, Mr Rittenhouse appears to shoot the man in the head. Fleeing momentarily, he finds himself chased by a crowd before falling to the ground, and firing his gun. One of those hit falls to the ground. Another person - who is carrying a handgun - runs away apparently injured. Many shots are heard during this incident. After this second shooting, Mr Rittenhouse heads towards police vans with his arms in the air. A bystander shouts, "that dude just shot them", but the police vehicles pass by to attend to the injured protesters.” Sounds a bit different to your version of events oldie. Anyway, you obviously know how you would react with a gun in your hand and a suspect reaching into his car so I shall let you carry on in your judgement safe at home from behind a keyboard.

Why, or how, can you excuse that? You`re deliberately putting the worst possible and misleading interpretation of events here. You`re like one of the "protestors" whipping up anger from the mob. Blake was not shot as he turned away to his car. He was not shot, when his actions were clearly visible to the police. He was not shot when the police could see that he was unarmed. He was shot when he opened his car door and reached inside, leaving the police to ponder what he was reaching for, and a couple of seconds to respond. I don`t think anybody on here feels that Gas 365 is inherently racist. Apart from you.

Lots of US sports teams boycotting games now in protest.
I wonder why they are doing that, when some people on here don't see a problem with police brutality & racism?

To the hysterical, panty wetting left wing *everything* is racist at the moment William, it’s the only answer they have to rationality. I saw a question on another forum which I thought was quite interesting: did Blake’s actions contribute to his getting shot? I wonder how those on the left would answer that question?

I hope they are not getting paid for refusing to work My reaction to that is “I wonder what it must be like to be paid millions whilst having the ability to down tools when you feel like it”. We need unions and frameworks to be able to do the same, God knows I would have liked to have just walked out in protest at how this country has been run over the years. If the hard of thinking can’t see that this is an entirely different scenario to the George Floyd incident then there is no hope basically. Might as well just take the Police’s weapons off them and tell the American public to flagrantly dis-obey the law because the Police date not uphold it because Joe Public are going to kick off and go on strike if they do. I think the likes of those basketball players would get a nasty shock if America Police went on strike for 24 hours. The only people who would win would be the hardcore criminals.

The question still remains. Why was a 17 year old roaming the streets heavily armed? Why did the law enforcement officers not apprehend him? Why, after he shot someone in full view of the police lines was he not arrested? Why? Regardless of the circumstances leading upto the last shot? By comparison, a clearly unarmed man is shot in the back, 7 times. Why? Regardless of the circumstances that led upto the police challenging him? I still do not comprehend how a heavily armed man who has clearly shot someone right in front of the police could not be confronted by the police and arrested. How could that possibly not happen? Regardless, if it makes a conclusion easier for anyone, what happened to Blake? How do explain or excuse that?

Regardless, if it makes a conclusion easier for anyone, what happened to Blake? How do explain or excuse that? Clearly unarmed...were you there? Yet again, it’s easy to pontificate on what should have happened from behind a keyboard when you were not potentially facing your own mortality if you made the wrong decision. I’ve seen one left winger say that the cop should have shot him in the leg to neutralise him, like the cop is playing flaming call of duty on a PlayStation and not riddled with panic at what this guy could be up to. I don’t know what to make of the other situation as the story seems to change with every telling. You tell me the Police stood and laughed as he shot black people in the head, the BBC tells me he was being chased by a mob and shot when he was being attacked. Who do I believe? Oldie, who most likely was safe at home behind a keyboard all night, or the BBC who are more likely to have had correspondents who were there? If it’s the way you tell it oldie then obviously him being ignored is outrageous and more examples of cop bad behaviour, if it’s the way the bbc tell it then imo he has the right to defend himself if being attacked and in a country where civilians are armed if you are going to attack someone then you need to come correct or you’ll have your head blown off. Any sane law abiding person would have barricaded themselves in for the night, if you’re going to go out there protesting or rioting then you have to take some responsibility for that. It’s not right but as I say, America arms it’s citizens and as a result you have to take measures to secure your own safety and the best way of doing that is to stay at home. It’s important to note the cops picked him up later, no doubt the left wing will come up with some tin foil hat slaverings about how the racist Police have made up that news and have really given this 17 year old some sort of medal for national service.

The still picture clearly shows he could not have been concealing a weapon with the type of clothing he was wearing. The reason they pulled their weapons was because the taser failed, if they feared he was would pull a weapon on them they would not have gone for the taser. Come on....really?
The video clearly shows he was being chased after he had already shot someone. He tripped over his own feet and was approached by one of the group who were chasing him, he then shot him. The person who approached him (perhaps foolishly) was not brandishing a weapon in the video.
then im There was a curfew on. The young man who shot those people was breaking that curfew. He was not from that town. He had gone there quite deliberately and heavily armed. He shot two (it could be three) protesters. He was acting as a vigilante, he had no need to go there, therefore no need to defend himself, he shouldnt have been there. This is anarchy, not the rule of law. It most definitely not the rule of law when he was not apprehended on the spot. He walked up to, I presume through, police lines. He was picked up later back in his home state of Illinois.
I cannot even begin to understand how you, or anyone can defend this.

What's awful about this, is that blacks have been killing white cops, white cops killing blacks, whites killing whites, etc etc etc over there for years. Every day this happens. I'm not sure this is so much a race issue (although they have a real problem with this in the US) as it is a gun issue.

And if you were a cop over there, dealing with these idiots, I'd be very twitchy every time I arrived at any incident.

As Eric said they had plenty of chance to shoot him when they had their benny hill-esque chase as he went round the car, they only shot him at the point his hands were concealed. As it happens, it sounds like he was reaching for a knife. Why would such an upstanding citizen even have a knife in the side of his car door. Why would he want a knife? It wouldn’t be to attack some Police officers with would it? Crikey you lot are desperate to normalise disobedience in the face of the law. If you had your way the proletariat would be armed to the teeth and the people in charge of keeping order would have no weapons and their hands tied behind their backs, everyday life would be like something out of the purge. People with these sorts of ideals make me think we need less liberalism and not more because we simply can’t be trusted with it. The facts remain oldie, this guy resisted the Police, if he had not he might have lived, like the thousands, nay tens of thousands, of non-white people who are arrested in racist America every day without incident. That’s what we should be angry about, that his dopey actions have cost more lives as a result of rioting and protest because black people should be able to flagrantly disobey armed Police. We don’t need apologists who advocate for disobedience which then causes things to escalate and people getting shot.

And as for the other guy then if it’s as you tell it (I wonder why the BBC didn’t explain this as they were all over the story initially trying to align this guy with Trump and violent social media groups) then he wanted shooting himself. I’m not going to excuse his behaviour if he wasn’t acting in self defence (although if someone unarmed attacked him I won’t lose any sleep over him replying with a gun, if you’re going to bring fists to a gun fight that’s your out look out) and I won’t excuse any cops who laughed as they watched what he was doing. But as I understand it the Police were actually running past him to assist with injured protesters, not stood around laughing, hence why he got picked up later and I assume will have the book thrown at him.
But again, the devil is in the details- if there was a curfew that he broke, what about all the others that broke it too? How were there even people to shoot? They should have been at home. You seem to believe in the rule of law only when it helps the team you support oldie. You want a curfew for gun toting maniacs but you want to see it broken so people can protest. You want black people to be able to carry knives but you don’t want armed police to be able to shoot.
I am no advocate for a Police state believe me, but I strongly believe in obeying the law and if you choose to break it you accept the consequences. Fine, be a martyr and lose your life over it. I won’t lose any sleep because it was your choice to put yourself in that position.

What conclusions have you jumped to without knowing anything about me? Do you get paid if you refuse to work? I know I wouldn’t. On this subject I notice Lewis Hamilton is commending the American sportsmen and women for going on strike for the cause. However, he won’t be joking them, presumably because it would hurt him personally so too selfish to put the so called ‘bigger picture’ ahead of his own personal ambitions.

Lol, how many black F1 drivers are there, name a few black people linked with F1? He is on his own. Is F1 even popular in the US compared to their big 3 sports, it's barely linked to the US. It's funny how some people make things up in their heads to get angry about, perfectly normal behaviour.
