Unreal signing. I can’t remember being this excited by a signing since Rickie Lambert. We must be paying decent wages. Ironically, BG mentioned that we were still under last season's budget prior to announcing this signing and he was hopeful we'd remain there. Also said we've been shrewd with our offers and doesn't want us to be known for overpaying (paraphrasing) anymore so I'm not so sure we are actually. Although I'd assume all our contracts are, at the very least, heavily incentivised - perhaps decent payrises/bonuses for playoffs/promotions and individual achievements like goals/clean sheets if I'd hazard a guess. The likes of Craig, Nichols, Reilly, Sercs & OC etc were probably all on very good L1 contracts, the likes of Ehmer and Baldwin now having to accept just whatever's being offered this summer in order to keep up with their mortgage payments etc.

Great signing...Jordan Clark of Accy next please Anything linking us with Jordan Clark or is he just on your wishlist? No info or anything just always admire him and usually best player on the pitch when ive seen him, not just against Rovers either.

Stay away from my territory, I informed the forum about a week ago that we were after Clark. Apparently very early days though

Now that he’s signed well done all concerned and good luck Zain. When we’d signed Grant, Baldwin and Ehmer we’d made ourselves solid and probably hard to beat but as for threatening in the top half we still needed more attacking options. With Nicholson, Ayunga and Westbrooke we’ve certainly filled those options. Now we really need JCH to sign a new contract or go. The issue needs resolving one way or another. Without JCH we have a weaker attack and it would be unfair to expect JonahA to fill it immediately in his first year. Pretty sure that won’t be allowed to happen so I’m confident we will challenge. This last signing, ZW, appears to be what we’ve been missing for a few seasons so I’m happy that BG has signed what the last two manages said they wanted, though I was never convinced GC really did want one. There are no guarantees with signings but the signs this summer are very good. Well done to all involved. BG now under a bit of pressure to deliver, he has a competitive squad at least and has some good players to mould into a team. Good luck BG. UTG!

Good Morning All, Just thought id register on here so i could let you know my thoughts on the boy Zain and keep up to date with all the other ex cov you have with you. Zain got his chance last season when we sold Tom Bayliss on the eve of the first game to Preston. He immediately looked very impressive, however, he was lucky to get the chance in the side due to the sale of Bayliss and an injury to Jamie Allen. Safe to say he surprised a few here and did really really well, with talk of a few clubs from the division above looking at him. He lost his place when Callum OHare settled and Jamie Allen started to get back to fitness and now finds himself at the back of a bit of a queue for a place in our midfield. This however does not mean he isnt good enough. We do have a lot of quality in the midfield area and id imagine this move will have come about as he wants to play, i would expect Robins would want to keep him for squad depth but he does need to play. As for his qualities, hes a ball player.. he can pick a pass and he can score a goal too. Id imagine JCH will link up with him very well. His only downside is his does like to jump out of a tackle. I suppose the best compliment i can pay him is id happily have him in our midfield next season so would expect him to do very well for you lot. City fan here, I agree, I reckon with the right style of football and a full 46 game season, he can chip in with 15 plus goal contributions... Talented lad. Great age too, Coventry have benefitted massively by signing young players and developing them, using many in the last 3 years that's seen 2 promotions... I hope for the same future for Bristol rovers... All the best lads

So another signing. Is that 5 or 6 now? So exactly what is Ben Garners objective this season? Is he planning to take us to the promised land of the Championship? Things are looking very promising. But the hard work will be really begin when the new season starts. I think we could be in for a very exciting season in league 1. And the Gas could be one of the favourites to at least get into the play-offs.

Officially maybe.. but our undisclosed purchase of Tom Nicholls was apparently more than that (according to the Posh chairman on Twitter some time ago) Think Nichols was 350k + add-ons (Posh paid 352k total for him and MacAnthony was claiming they'd pretty much recouped that) We'll never know how much those clauses added up to, but if they were goal-related then it is likely that it is still less than Tilson

As BG (I think it was his interview) has said that none of our loan signings from last season are coming back, I reckon it's unlikely.

We must be offering players sh*t loads in wages. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us a year or two down the line a la Derby County signing ravanelli, eranio and stimac back in the day

It could be a good thing that he’s gonna begin his rovers career in front of empty stadium if he jumps out of tackles we all know how is fans get on players backs of we don’t feel they’re giving 100% and are out of form like what happened with chris Dickson. We have to remember skilful playmakers might not get stuck in or come across lazy as they’re flair players.
