Sorry I forgot that Ben is responsible for the training ground Wael has paid for, youth setup that Chris Hargreaves has been assembling for years. I also forgot about all the points that Ben managed to Garner before he was even appointed that saved us from relegation despite the form since 26th December. We must thank Ben for all of the positive off the field things he has been doing, plus also our fantastic on the field results too. Nothing to do with him...... and how many years you’ve been supporting Rovers has nothing to do with it. You’ll have another relegation to add to your remember list come next May if the board doesn’t act soon though That's all conjecture though isn't it. Garner pushed to get the training ground done, or have you forgotten the frustration of both the previous managersthat nothing was moving on that front. You predict relegation, but giving him a chance to change or style of play. There have been flashes of what he's trying to do so far this season, and we just need to cut out the silly errors. Obviously the time I've been supporting the club is irrelevant, but I was merely highlighting that you were making up relegations which haven't happened. You really think Garner was anything to do with the training ground?!! I genuinely don't know if you're taking the water or what. The bloke wa slucky he was the one in charge when it finally got sorted, yet he still might be out the door before it's complete!! 5 shots on target 21 shots on target against us. It is more than just cutting out the silly errors.

After 3 games we're relegated - holy smoke ! Pointless going around in circles. Either you’re a Garner has had 23 games or a Garner has had 3 games kind of person I’m in the 23 camp. You’re in a 3 camp. We’re not going to agree. No point in debating it further. I respect that some people may be of the 3 games mindset, and that they may think it’s prudent to give him a few more games. I guarantee that this will all end in tears though. I wouldn’t guarantee it because there’s no way of noting for sure but I’d say I’m 90% confident that we’ll still be playing crap football and picking up hardly any points come the end of the month if he’s still in charge. It’s also a massive risk because the window will be closed.

Maybe it was as a result of successive managers asking for it, but he's the one who finally got his wish, even if it coincided with Wael taking full control of the club. The stats will improve as the team gels and the opposition gets a little easier. Neither DC, Ainsworth of Alex Ferguson achieved immediate success, they all needed time. DC's first season was relegation out of the league, would you prefer him to have been sacked following that? You are the one taking the water here.

I must be losing my grip on reality. I've been supporting the Gas since 1974 and can remember all of the promotions and relegations in that time, and can't remember any since BG took over, but we do have a better youth setup, training ground and more talented players. Sorry I forgot that Ben is responsible for the training ground Wael has paid for, youth setup that Chris Hargreaves has been assembling for years. So back to back relegations would really be something. It is really easy to stir things up after 3 games of the season, please try to put things in perspective, rather than thinking the sky is falling in after playing Ipswich, Sunderland and Doncaster with a new team of players.

I find it hard to take your posts seriously when you credit Garner for the training ground. You’ve even acknowledged in your own post the change in Waels ownership to being full control. It’s a coincidence that happened under Garner - the previous two managers were begging for the improved facilities Then again the guy has managed to talk himself into a manager position at a league club so perhaps he’s more of a magician than I give him credit for. He’s certainly not a magician when it comes to off the field matters though. Again regards your other post it’s a matter of personal perspective if you consider it 3 or 23 games and that’s pretty critical really to if you consider it to be early days or beyond the point of no return. Even then, there’s two cup games, and terrible performance which point at 20 more games being the same as the 20 being discounted but hey ho. I will be delighted to be wrong.

What can we judge him on. Blind faith.

If we don’t sack the manager we will be back in l2. If we don’t axe him then, we will be back in the conference. Happy with that? Happy with sticking with him? Is that sustainable? Is it really delusional to expect a manager who has won 2 games in 23 or whatever it is now to be beyond being able turn it around? I don’t understand where Ben has bought this ridiculous loyalty from? If we had a manager who was seeing us progress season to season, even if it meant a mid table finish this year, a mid table finish next, followed by a shot at the playoffs after that then fine as long as were looking to progress and not resting on our laurels. It’s not a chain of disliking managers, it’s a recognition that this guy is beyond incompetent at being a manager and will only get us relegated despite the fact he likes to parade around making it out as if he’s the next Klopp. I must be losing my grip on reality. The more I think about this, the more I think Tisdale is tailor made to come here if Garner doesn't improve us. A lot of players progressed through Exeter's youth and first twam while Tisdale was there. Including yesterday's hero of course, Ollie Watkins.

Tisdale has managed two seasons at this level, the first ended in relegation with Exeter and the second when he was sacked at MK Dons in 21st place having lost 8 out of his last 9 games in charge, scoring only 1 goal in that run of results.

Tisdale isn't a great Manager. His Exeter sides were boring and they had one alright season in League 1, they then got relegated. He took Franchise up and they got something like 1 point out of a possible 29/30. He got booted.
I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

We have a much better record of recruiting our managers from within the club, either from coaching or playing staff. Gerry Francis Paul Trollope Ian Holloway Darrell Clarke Graham Coughlin To be honest, I can't think of a successful Gas Manager who has been recruited from outside. For me, Tisdale would just be another Buckle or McGhee

(Though Coughlin was told there was no money for the January window) To be honest he has had a lot of cash available , and soon a brand new training ground. If he cannot make a success of all this then he deserves to go.

From Wikipedia Three seasons at Exeter. I was actually at that Huddersfield match, living around the corner as a student at the time. Got asked by a Huddersfield supporter getting on a bus why I wasnt looking elated - explained my true allegiances and that my real team had lost! .Pretty sure it’s the only football match I’ve been to that hasn’t been a Rovers match. Back on Tisdale he’s quite obviously done well at Exeter. Getting them from the Conference to L1 and keeping them there for a few seasons is a bit like someone getting us to the championship for a few seasons.

Let's not forget where Exeter were when he took over there. A national league side. In fact he's had promotions with every club he's been at. I don't believe you suddenly become a bad manager in the league above. For whatever reason it hasn't worked out in L1. I was actua ally aware of that poor run at MK and reading back to it, he had a lot of injuries at that time and it's easy to look at a start like that and say he's not good enough. He still had a decent overall record at MK. The main reason I say he could be a good choice is that Exeter had a good youth set up and record of bringing players through who have ended up going on for a lot more money. He also likes to play football on the floor. With the players that Garner has brought in, we can't suddenly expect to bring in someone who wants to play a more physical game. Then his obvious local connections to the area too. Also interesting how he believes he helped Watkins with his game. And Watkins thanks him a lot for helping his career. The commentators kept mentioning Brentford the other day but let's not forget it was at Exeter under Tisdale where he really started to shine. Tisdale said he converted him from a winger to a striker. His philosophy would definitely fit int with Wael's. I wouldn't write him off.
