Bingo! And there was me thinking of the £1.25million ish would be invested........ somewhere? How flip flop silly of me? So, where has the £1.25mill gone, I wonder? 🤔 Towards the £3M we're gonna lose this year? Conjecture! It could be whole lot more if jch ain't properly replaced, for instance, anyone remember what happened after we didn't replace Lambo?

So, where has the £1.25mill gone, I wonder? 🤔 Towards the £3M we're gonna lose this year? We spent over £9m in the last set of accounts, that was with fans attending and the normal hospitality and other income generation making £6m. Even if we have reduced the wage bill, without paying fans the gap will be greater so that money is even more important.

Not sure you’re being realistic at a time when the club has very little income and is being propped up by our owner. Would it have been more realistic (in terms of value) to keep jch with all his goals he may score? Every club has been propped up by their owners, we're not unique... There has to be a value for losses and a replacement value, I think we need another striker, unless you think Hanlon takes the wage if jch... Surely being a regular poster on the forum you must know that JCH refused to sign a new contract and also returned from the summer unfit, unless we wanted to lose him in January for next to nothing then keeping him clearly wasn't an option.

We have to see what hanlan, ayunga and daly will do this season in my view, they all look decent so why not give them a go? I just hope the club survives losing such massive amounts of money every week.# Thank god we have wael.

Possibly. Again, that's conjecture because you're assuming jch was always going to go no matter what. He might have stayed, signed an extension if we were top of the league.....with Jonson scoring goals and staying fit. The point is, we need a replacement.

We played well in the second half yesterday we, the players looked like they knew what they were doing, a couple standout performances from Tutonda and Westbrooke and I also thought McCormick looks good.
Not taking away too much from ourselves, Northampton looked poor.
Hope BG can get 3 or 4 more wins by time we have played 10 games.

Absolutely- Weekends are so much more bearable after a gas win - almost forgot what that feeling felt like. So want us to push in now but fear 2 more loses next week

As I said somewhere before, much better performance and hopefully we can use it as a springboard now. Personally I think Lincoln will be a tough tough game and if we can come away with a point that will be a great result setting us up nicely for 2 very winnable games against Burton and Shrewsbury. Not overly concerned with the game Tues but a decent performance and a win will help cement confidence and momentum going into Lincoln and as @gas365 said to me in a reply, will get us that first away win under BG and another monkey gone....

I'd agree with the commentary team that we just about edged the first half. Second half we played some really nice football. I'd also agree with many posters here that Northampton were very, very poor, but we can only play who's in front of us on the day so, well done lads and BG.
I can't recall Jak having to make a save in the whole game. Tutonda and Hanlan played very well. Everything crossed that the confidence 3 points gives the team will improve our performances in upcoming league matches (I couldn't give two hoots about Tuesday's fiasco of a competition).

We were relegated after we lost Lambo because we didn't replace him suitably. I disagree. We did really well without Lambert, we were actual challengers for the play offs that season. IMO we were eventually relegated the following season because LL left and Trollope wasn’t up for the task alone, as we’ve seen him at many clubs since. We also employed a record what, 5 managers that season? I think that had more to do with it than Lambert, although it obviously would have made a difference. But I genuinely believe that wasn’t the reason we were relegated 18 months later.

And similarly, it's a path we could find ourselves again. Hanlan injured or off form, we are relying heavily on someone or two stepping up. Big, big risk..

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before but it was great to see Rovers domination after Northampton went down to 10 men, how many times in previous seasons it was difficult to tell if the other team had a player sent off if there was any advantage to us.

Blackpool home being the other. Blimey, even allowing for Covid, makes it a long time. But singup is right we need 3/4 more wins just to “normalise” things. UTG!

Just to point out, I have said "some people" meaning im on about more than just yourself. I just showed a line of yours in my post as a reference to my point. You are not the only one to have said similar. Yes you had positives and negatives, which is fine of course. No dispute with that. It was the excuse why we won is what I am on about. BG gives excuses why we lose and he gets pounded for it. Yet some people don't give credit for the win and find excuses why we got lucky. Anyway.... here is to 3 points Tbh what watered me off about your post was the condescending 'you couldn't make it up' phrase. I dislike that when fans are giving their honest opinion which may be different to yours, but still imo should be respected. Im glad my phrase came across that way as that was how I intended it to be. That phrase was only aimed at those on here who are so intent of getting BG out of the club that they were disappointed to win the game and made up excuses why we got lucky to win. It's to them I was being sarky with. Now I have no idea how you feel on BG as I cant be assed to search for it. You may be pro BG for all I know. I can see why you took it personal as I used your comment as an example to my point.
99% of the time, I do I respect people's opinions regardless if I share them or not. Look back at the history of my comments (if you can be assed, I don't blame you if you don't). I have reasoned debates with people whose opinion differs to mine. Sometimes name calling comes my way as a result but I do not bite at that. The most recent debate I had was with LJG and neither of us crossed that line. That is how is really should be.
I know BG is not the majority's flavour of the month but "what watered me off about your post" and some others too, was the fact that no credit was given to BG when it was due. Instead there was just excuses not to give credit. If that can't be understood then fair enough. Enjoy the rest of the weekend though.

I couldn’t agree more. Especially the part about lack of credit to Garner for yesterday’s win. Instead most cannot help themselves but to highlight how poor Northampton were, such was the reason we won the game, apparently. Which is quite the leap from the last few weeks “cannot see where the next win will come from”. We won yesterday with a solid display from the first minute, imposing our game on them for the entire second half & taking full advantage of the extra man, which is not our problem one iota. Wether Northampton were abysmal or sheer quality is by the by, we carried out our days work brilliantly with some superb individual displays. Hats off to Ben & the coaching staff, under some pressure from the ‘fanbase’ all week. If you wish these men to fail, by design you wish the team & club to fail. Now is time to fully get behind everyone for a tough fixture next weekend.
