In a post towards the top of this page I commented that it wouldn't be long before allegations of Islamaphobia would start.
Have a look towards the later posts on the the read about racism in the Labour Party.
Harriet Harman. Care to comment?

I am honestly beginning to think he's a bot He's not a bot, it's all done deliberately to get a reaction. I just wish others would join in because it's giving a false impression of the Conservative side.

Perhaps just a bit of attention seeking.

Do you mean right minded, thinking, Conservatives might consider him an idiot? My concern is more that those with a different view on whatever topic see him as a standard bearer and want to believe what is posted is true because it is challenging the perceived wisdom.

It would be helpful I think if we got away from this language of U turn and victory etc as it doesn't build consensus and sets artificial barriers which are so unnecessary How many of us on here have never changed their mind/decision?

I dont have a problem with anyone admitting a mistake and changing position. How many times though have this Government done it, and twice on the same issue in the case of Marcus Rashford

As for Labour nothing for them to crow about they have never funded free school meals in the holidays.

The issue is, more generally, that there are huge issues in our society that are not being addressed. We vote people in to deal with them, but they do not. They shouldn't, we shouldn't, need a high profile sports / media personality to highlight an issue and through public opinion pressure force a Government to act. The question is, when there are such glaring issues, why are our elected officials not addressing them? That's the issue, not arcane arguments about left and right.

Agree and I would love to know the answer ,Les you and I have been around long enough to have seen this type of issue many times and I can only think politicians of all party's have on occasions not had political antennae up when they needed to.
