The problem is would even most of the squad care if we went down? The vision they have been sold is “come and play for us, do well and you will get a chance at a bigger club” They have nothing to loose.

Haven’t most of our recent relegations been due to a lack of goals? Over the years when our defensive has been terrible, we had someone to score at the other end. We have gone down with a decent defence before but the lack of goals cost us.
Even PT’s Exeter teams with all the young players coming through still had a spine of experienced players. I bet if he joined us last year instead of Garner the likes of Craig, Clarke and Ogogo would still be with us.

Have a word with mansfield and see if we can get o clarke on loan in jan At least he would get stuck in and tackle in the centre of midfield Offer them grant in exchange who seems to run in treacle compared to the rest of the opposition.

We need Daly back asap. He's the only dangerous forward we have. Nicholson is all up and at 'em but his shooting is abysmal. He needs more composure in front of goal and to work on his shooting technique as he seems to wrap his foot around the ball every time. Then again, maybe that's why he's plying his trade in the third tier. Hanlan is more suited to the quick passing game that draws defenders out of position and creates space than the "get crosses into the crowded box" style we played yesterday. Gillingham sat back and lapped that up.

Its just a case of deja vu every game. Same old mistakes, most oif our goals against under Garner were just like the second goal last night. Three at the back and a wing back breaks with nobody in front 9of him to defend and the three centre backs on the other side of the area, ball i8n Kilgour asleep and in the net. Last season we consistently played Ollie Clarke and Upson and now we have Grant and Upson- no better at all.I do0 not doubt that we have some talent and had we kept JCH we would have been well towards the top because he would score goals most games. I think with Otzumer , Hanlan and Nicholson around him we could honestly have been looking at a great season. Instead as usual we have not replaced JCH like Lambert before him and many others and will probably pay the ultimate price. Yes thankfully it is still early doors but I just can't see where a win will come from. You aren't seriously criticising Kilgour for the 2nd goal ?? I dont care who you are a ball like that is impossible to defend. Kilgour did nothing wrong last night yet you still seem intent on knocking him.

When was the last time decent players were actually bought? The club notoriously rely on free transfers which will get us nowhere. Also, i reckon all is not well with the board. Still unable to get out of third tier, after decades. Supporting this club is an utter embarassment.

If you were a Gashead then you'd surely know that the board has only been in place for a short time. Nice try 💩

Hang on a minute. Aren't we still in that 10 match grace given to Mr Garner?

I think I agree with a lot of people here, that Tis can't affect the method in which we play after only 3 or 4 games, and so little time between them. What he can affect though, and bloody well should have done, is motivation. I have seen none in the last few league games. Nothing, nada, zip f all.
Seems to me that the players were sold a dream, things were gradually changing and improving, Octobers points tally reflect that, then suddenly the manager was dismissed, and lets face it, rightly or wrongly this squad of players were signed by him, so they are "his (BGs) players" they probably feel demotivated, watered off, and won't want to expend so much effort. It's human nature, water people off and they fight back the only way they know how, or have available to them, do less work, be a bit slower, give less f*cks today than yesterday.
They are a young group, they were not going to be "at it" all game every game, but they were learning. Tis has come in, and I think now the whole world knows, he is going for as much experience in the side as he can muster, those that are young and are/were playing well are suddenly not being considered, or left warming benches. How would you feel if it were you? The trouble with the experienced players, is, they are just too slow, they are unwilling/unable to change.
I think we as a club, have made one almighty f*ck up, which, if funds had allowed, may have been better served by getting in experience to work alongside Garner.
That though is now all water under the bridge. I also believe that we are a bit hamstrung, even when the next window zips open, what to do? To add players to the squad, some have to leave, certainly, I feel our loan players should be returned, and use the space to blood our own young players, after all, if the unthinkable happens and we are relegated, we will need them like never before, so get them all the experience they can absorb NOW.
Apologies for my rant, i know many will not agree with me, some may agree with bits of my thoughts, but hey ho. Please do give your thoughts, would love to hear a little more in depth thought that just an outpouring of despair.

I'd have given him another 33 because we weren't in the relegation zone when he left and he had the knack of picking up some handy away points to keep us out of it while the team developed. The playing style suited the players he bought in too and was good on the eye imo. The players looked up to it until the Fleetwood game when they must of got wind of the knee-jerk reaction on its way.

Having had a night to sleep on it, I am now genuinely worried about this season. The team we had assembled over the summer looked very decent on paper and most fans thought a season of progress and an outside shot of the play-offs was realistic, however 2 managers have had time with this squad (albeit one of them only for a couple of weeks so far) and neither of them seem to know the best formation or players to play in it.
Keeper: I think most Rovers fans are in agreement that Jaakkola is one of the best keepers in the league, however JVS is not L1 standard and whenever he comes in, a defence already short on confidence can sometimes be let down by a howler from the last line of defence behind them. That being said, not may sides in this league have 2 quality keepers. It is just unfortunate that we may lose our number 1 more often than most sides due to an international call up.
Defence: Whilst I always worried about our lack of goals this season, I thought we would still be keeping a lot of clean sheets and be able to nick wins as a result. This has clearly not happened. Ehmer and Baldwin were on paper 2 of the best free signing CBs we could have picked up in the transfer window. One of them a recent Peterborough captain who got a big money move to Sunderland and another the Gillingham captain and widely regarded as one of the top CBs in the is league over the last couple of seasons. I would say neither have performed as fans expected and add to that a massive dip in form from Kilgour and what should have been a very solid base of the team has instead looked very shaky.
Midfield: Non-existent is the best way to describe them so far. Neither Upson nor Grant look good enough for that holding role, Westbrooke has shown some glimpses of quality but certainly not enough to justify the big clamour when he signed and Otzumer isn't looking like the Walsall player he was unlocking defences most weeks and scoring some worldies to go with it. Personally I think McCormick has looked good so far but I almost forget we even have Liddle, Barrett and JML.
Attackers: Before the transfer window closed, I think most people still wanted a striker. We had Hanlan who Gillingham fans thought very hit and miss along with Daly and Ayunga who were both unproven at this level. This area has clearly been our achilles heel. Sometimes you can concede 1 or 2 and still got 1 or even 3 points from a game but other than a game against a side 3 divisions lower than us, we hardly look like scoring. I will also add Nicholson into this section as he seems to be a confidence player severely lacking in confidence. He can run at defenders but his finishing is woeful, as demonstrated against Wigan in particular.
Going forward, January is crucial for us. Another striker has to be a must along with a solid CM in the Ogogo mould along with some experience. Whilst this squad is full of potential, we musthave one o the youngest squads in the league and when the chips are down, that is when you need the senior players to pick people back up, both on and off the pitch.
And lastly, work rate. Whilst it is not nice or good to see, I can accept a player who is on a bad run of form or maybe not quite to the quality we need as long as they give 100% in every game. Far too many players in this side do not seem to have any pride or passion in this shirt at all and as a result, have no work rate, typified by Grant's behaviour for the second goal last night.
Over the last few years, there has always been someone at the club either in the management and coaching side (Holloway, Yates, Kite, Stewart and even DC) who either knew the club or bought into the passion quickly and players on the pitch who had come through the academy and had a real affiliation (Clarke, Lines, Lockyer etc) or players we had signed who showed real determination and passion to play "the Bristol Roves way" (Sinclair, Elliott, Campbell etc) but I just see none of that on the pitch, on the sidelines or even in the boardroom as for all his faults, Higgs was a massively passionate Gashead.
I 100% get where the board and coaching staff want to take this club. I get they want to play entertaining football and that they want to develop young players, however, that is changing the whole DNA of the club (for the better in the long run I hope) and for me on the pitch, there has been far too much change in our playing style and in too short a space of time and it is really showing and I only hope it doesn't cause us more issues in the long run.
To Tisdale and your coaching stuff, best of luck for the rest of the season, I truly feel you (and we as fans) need it.

I might be in a minority of one here but I'm feeling pretty optimistic we'll get ourselves out of trouble.
Last night wasn't great, however since PT came in I've seen us create more going forward (Oztumer stood out last night) even if we can't finish our dinner right now.
Defensively we haven't improved since he's come in. Still vulnerable at set peices especially.
If PT can get us a bit more organised, which he is lauded for getting his teams to be, and we can still create chances and once we have some fit strikers finish them.... THEN I think we'll be fine. Lots of its and buts in there but I thing PT can do it.
Teams that don't score enough go down is the long and short of it and where I see our main problems lie.

A soft spine & poor in both boxes. We’re making far too many individual defensive errors and scoring less than a goal per game. Other than Wigan (scored 10 to our 11), Shrewsbury are the next lowest scorers with 15. And three of our 11 have been penalties... Obviously there’s a long way to go yet & lots of points to play for, but we’re not a good side. Really not a good side. I've dated her too!

We need a guy in midfield that can head a ball shoot with either foot put an tackle in. Understands the rovers ethos experienced in this division and the fans can relate to. A job made for o clarke. A swop deal with grant who so far hasn't even had his kit washed from the first game of the season
