Out of interest do we know what injury Upson has? Looked like a hamstring didn't it? Also anyone got anything on whether Hanlan was limping or not... missed that substitute on ifollow last night so couldn't comment if it looked true or not.

As an attacking unit, I don't think we played that bad. Defensively it was dire. Lots of work to do, lots.

And I don't get why some people are giving Joe Day a hard time. Especially that 3rd goal. The Crewe player was in-between Ehmer and Baldwin, he's darted soon as the free kick was taken and he's done them both for pace and they lost him. Terribe marking.

You could see Hanlan walking all away around the pitch when he came off. He was moving quite slowly but didn’t seem to be limping. Hoping it was just a case of needing fresh legs.

Agree Day is still settling in, but why don’t keepers come for a ball in the 6 yard box anymore, anything in the air inside the 6yd box the keeper should claim. we need more consistency all over the pitch

I assumed it was giving him a bit of rest as pre match Tis was saying he cant play Ayunga and Hanlan at the same time for 90 mins given the current striker shortages

I got the impression he wasn’t happy being subbed, which is good to see and also suggests it wasn’t an injury.

Its all very simple really, There seems to be some positives to take from last night which we need to bottle and retain, just need to fix the negative, this would seem to be the defensive unit who are prone to individual and collective ,costly errors. Not sure who is our defensive supremo in training but DC,s team had a spell of leaking goals for fun and he took decisive action, he appointed a specialist coach who knew how to defend and he turned our defence into one of the best around. All we need to do is find a like minded coach who is looking for a job, now who come to mind? Mmmm ! I give you GC! would he come and would you have him back?

But what is our coaching staff situation? Jack Mesure as assistant manager Kevin Maher as first team coach David Coles/Bobby Davro as GK coach And we have a head of analysis and assistant first team analyst But no Defensive coach...

No - given the reasons he gave for leaving, it would be a joke to consider having him back. Tony Craig was doing his coaching badges, should have been kept on so that he could transition from player to coach. You only have to look at how Kilgour developed when playing alongside him to see what he could have offered.

Turns out playing a CB at RWB stifles a lot of your attacking play and doesn’t give you much Guile around the box on that side of the pitch.....who knew

Sounds like Garner , talking about how we played well , probably because we had a fair bit of possession but how many really good chances did we have ? How clinical were we in both boxes ? Crewe were more organised at the back and created more clear cut chances and deserved that. You can’t defend like we did , create only a small handful of half chances and say you were unlucky or played well. No they weren’t were more organised! They had one very good centre half in Omar bogles. Who pretty much defended everything! Your negativity is boring I’m generally quite positive your the first person on here to ever call me negative 😄. Fact of the matter is we didn’t create many good chances and they did. We went in 2-0 at half time and with the pressure they had and chances created it could have been 4-0 at half time. Sorry if you think that’s boring but it’s what I saw.

Edit : I’ve just watched the extended highlights , about ten minutes which showed every bit of decent goalmouth action and Crewe had 8 clips to our 3. Some on here saying we were unlucky are making excuses and I hope the players aren’t talking like that today. You make your own luck in football as you do in most things in life.

Agreed Tilly's, should have retained Craig and eased him in to coaching role , good leader and organiser, watched him against Leeds premiership squad and he was so comfortable, never hurried, always in the right place, bad move on our part to release him.
