The only positive from today is that everyone in the bottom half either didn't win or didn't play today, and we still have 1 or 2 games in hand on the teams around us. As others have said, we're expected to lose on Tuesday so might as well go for it. Not calling for Tisdale's head, but he has to accept that the defensive approach hasn't worked. They've got a week to improve the squad and hope that Oz & Nicholson get back fit ASAP!

442 hasn’t really worked though has it. All Tisdales wins have come with 4231 Hanlan with three attacking players behind him we had width and balance. I know Sammy and oz are injured but we have players available to still play that formation but instead he’s given up the last two games by going 541 narrow. Frustrating. No I agree but we need 2 up top without Nicholson and Oz as we don’t have good enough to replace them when out. Agreed 4-2-3-1 is best with a fully fit squad but to me 4-4-2 would at least give us a shout. I totally get what your saying perhaps 442 would better until either of them return but I was thinking during the game who we do have available who could have done a job as one of the attacking three mids in 4231 and I’ve come up with this ... Rodman Tutonda Westbrooke Mc Cormick Walker Hanlan Koiki Leahy There’s probably more I haven’t thought of. So 8 players fit who could do a job there. Obviously leahy would be best as a left sided rather than central attacking midfielder as would Koiki. Tutonda I reckon could be as good as Nicholson in that Bodin position right hand side cutting in role. I’ve included Hanlan because he’s good at collecting the ball from deeper and running at people too, although obviously that would mean playing Ayunga as the centre forward. Some will say this is madness or I’m just wrong I’m sure but I would have much preferred this than today’s offering from Tisdale. He said that he’s still learning about his players . What has he learned today ? Probably that if he sets up with a 541 formation two games in a row a sh** tactic then his players will perform sh** in that tactic. Why didn’t he stick with the tactic that served him well v Plymouth, Blackpool , Wimbledon Darlington etc and just tweak that starting 11 because of injuries? I’m at a loss to what he’s thinking these last few games I really am. |

Now watching the Cheltenham / Man City game , now I know it’s a cup game but it’s great to see a lower team playing with some commitment and a will to compete for every ball, nothing like the shambles I watched earlier, we were embarrassing 13Steffen 78Harwood-Bellis 50García 14Laporte 22Mendy 26Mahrez 69Doyle 25Fernandinho 47Foden 21Torres 9Gabriel Jesus We would be getting absolutely destroyed by them. |

Players taken off. I hope the police quickly nipped round and found who was letting them off and arrested them. Yep not an offence to let fireworks off in your back garden. Might have been a kids birthday or something. It’s hard enough for people at the moment without the police going to your house and arresting you for celebrating something on your own premises. |

As the oxford commentary said rovers are a good team but lack in the final third.
Need to bring in a striker or two and possibly a wide attacking player.
Need to offload a few on loan if we can
Barrett, ayunga , little , koiki for starters they all need match practice at an easier level.

Upson/ hargreaves

That's the formation I prefer with the players we have. 14231
With oz nicks ups Daly injured and rodman not match fit the attacking game is much weakened.
Players coming back will be like new signings but I still fear the worst if the front line is not strengthened.
