Wasn’t able to watch the game but assume our defence was much better, can someone tell me if we looked more organised defending set pieces? Has been a big weakness and getting that right will give us more clean sheets in the future. Utg! We didn't give away any free headers which must be the first time in a long time.

First 25 to 30 minutes they cut through us with ease and it looked like it would be a very comfortable Posh victory.
Then I posted that and - sod's law - we immediately improved; defensively we looked a little more assured and crucially a bit of a threat coming forward - not as threatening as Posh had as the final ball was lacking, but we were having possession in very dangerous areas which was encouraging.
Second half we played much better and looked even less shaky at the back - in fact brilliant at times - and had an excellent go at getting at them, but we couldn't really carve any decent opportunities out; unsurprisingly really.
Great (and much needed) point. Hopefully we can build on last night.

It’s amazing isn’t it. Play players in their correct positions and the team performs a lot better. Hope that is lesson learned and no more centre backs playing on the wing or as a midfielder.

A word on westbrooke. To me he seems to be playing the wrong role in midfield and has been for a while. He should be the one picking the ball up from the back and moving it forward. He hasn’t been played in this position as of yet ? Deep lying playmaker is his perfect position but I’m not sure how it all fits with the players we have seemed to work very well at cov but hasn’t at all here I reckon Tisdale thought he was the best option to bring on to help snatch a late winner as Posh pushed up. He's got a worldy in him and a great long pass when it comes off. Positive thinking in other words.

When he's further up the pitch he fails to deliver at the crucial moment. 3 times last night he had good possession in advanced positions but just gave the ball to posh rather than find a teammate with an incisive pass. My concern about playing him deeper is he has no defensive qualities at all. He's very powder-puff and seems to really struggle to put a foot in.

A good point, we rode our luck but sometimes you get that when working hard.
2 goals in 4 league games shows hat extra firepower is needed.
With so many league 1 squads at our level only having 3 strikers is it a matter of expense? Availability? Being able to attract the players.
3 strikers is fine if they are all fit and scoring. If Daly is long term injured we need a new striker yesterday!

Well I hope that’s the training ground work reflecting on the pitch, and pray it continues! I may be wrong but off the top of my head most of the goals we conceded over the run of loses were set pieces? If this is the first signs of that leak being plugged then that gives me a lot more confidence in what place we’ll finish this season! Utg

So many positives and I was telling my mate not to get too carried away as we did let up 12 shots... I just checked the xG analysis (and yes for those of you that hate stat based discussion please ignore and let the ones that do enjoy it for a few moments - ta) and it was much much closer than I had expected For large parts of the game we were looking on top... start and end parts a bit nervy but you know after our run and the quality of the attack on our opponents I guess you might expect it. As for our players performances... great, just great! Real TEAM effort and 'partnerships' developing all over the place. (MORE STATS incoming - look away now) Day - 12 Shots saved! Baldwin - 6 Defensive Aerials won, 2 Tackles, 5 Interceptions, 4 Clearances, 1 dribble, 1 shot and 6% of our possession (+ obviously the EYE test - looked awesome) Leahy - 4 Tackles and 5.8% of our possession (partnership with Baldwin working well) Ozzy - 3 Tackles, 2 Shots, 90% pass success rate (on that pitch) and 3 key passes Special shout to Ayunga who won 5 aerials in 30 mins and looked to be getting right up to speed and putting himself about really well... do we have this target man right under our nose already? (ok lets not get too carried away lol only played 240 mins this season so far) Average player positions are interesting also with us playing way more up the pitch and Abu holding back shielding a little more and Alfie playing the deepest of the back 3 offering that option to pass back if overwhelmed! Looks pretty balanced - I like

Well done listened and sounded a hard working performance with a chance of nicking it, hard place to go and pitch looked awful.
Let's take this onto Saturday and jester winner or drawer stays on the match thread 😂

It was interesting listening to the peterborough commentary team. How they saw that ogogo and grant were key figures in the game. Posh usually play through the middle (they say) and in this game they were unable to do that so came more down the sides. This meant they didnt get the key through balls theirs strikers thrive on. The difference having nicholson and oztumer on the pitch was obvious to see. An actual attacking threat.
Ayunga I have noticed brings the ball under control very well ,so whilst his finishing is poor at the moment there is a future for him.
Hanlan played very well ,perhaps having nic and oz around means the opposition cant over mark him (?) Still needs to shoot more .
Good result .

What a difference Oz and Sam made, still need to work on the defence, continually being caught square, and allowing JCH, who after all is not that quick run down the side of them. Up top is a real problem which Tisdale recognised, lets hope he can bring in somebody before the end of the month.

So against a pretty good team with a very good attack over two matches we got a L and a D. When they won at the Mem I think it was two worldies from about 25-30 yards that gave them the win. So despite many things they found it hard to get through our defence despite their talents in attack. So perhaps not too bad. I guess I’m desperately looking for positives from that. 😉 UTG!

Great all round performance especially from Ogogo and Grant who stopped the Posh midfield from playing their normal game.
I'm not sure how vocal Ogogo is, but he certainly leads by example, and was the heartbeat of that side last night. You could see by his reaction at the end he was absolutely shattered. But that's what we want from our players - to play for the shirt.
The quality of Oztumer and Nicholson shone through. I'm sure we would have got points had they'd been available in the last few games.
Where was the post match comment from Tis though or did I miss it?

It's a farce that our most efficient CM has been on loan to a conference side for half the season. Another BG f**k up amongst many.

There was one moment second half where the ball went in to their half near Hanlan and Ayunga but they left it for each other and Peterborough broke from it,Ogogo sprinted 20 yards to their player smashed him with a great block tackle and then turned to Ayunga and Hanlan smashed his fists together as he shouted what looked like Dam get stuck in. 💪
