I thought last night that Ayunga's goals were class, but after rewatching the highlights, they're even better than I first thought! Both struck so sweetly, with power and accuracy, and the control off his chest for the second to bring it down for the half volley was superb.
Well done Jonah!

One thing I noticed watching the highlights was that without fans we heard a distinct "thump" as he made contact with the ball. You can hear the power he hit those in with.

I always felt there was a player in Jonah but that he needed to be more ruthless in critical. moments. Yesterday those finishes were magnificent. I imagine right now the Portsmouth defenders are glad they don't face him every week, because last night he well and truly spanked their backsides.

When are people going to give a player a fair crack of the whip-how many times for us did Nichols score 8 goals in a season? and yet some treat him as god still!! Although last night Ajunga was the class act the PARTNERSHIP caused havoc with a usually reliable strong defence. When Daly came on he did just OK and we lost something because for all his running he lacks physical strength. This is not a criticism because he will improve and has goals in him but for the present time I would stick with the two big strikers as they must be a nightmare to play against. Lets get behind the lads- after a performance like last night- no need to find scapegoats because everybody put in a shift and you can't ask foir more than that.

IMO he's been flogged to death up front on his own with no service at all and playing Saturday/Tuesday every week. Yeah, probably our most willing player through some god-awful team form, rewarded for that by being written off. I wonder also if Pompey’s homework focussed on neutralising him as a threat rather than Ayunga?

That’s what I was getting at. TW seems to be very much of the Coughlan mould and whilst that’ll only get you so far it will keep you in the division if your players aren’t crap. And I honestly don’t think our players are crap they’re average for this division in my opinion.

Been saying Hanlan is absolutely rubbish for months. Runs hard but has no end product, and can't hold the ball up like Ayunga. Given his poor finishing record this season I struggle to see what he offers. I think Hanlan has managed to get away with out much criticism. His 1st touch is non existent yet he seems to be in a hold up role before tonight. Didn’t do much tonight but think he’s better suited with another striker. Daly and ayunga hasn’t been tried yet. Perhaps, but Hanlan’s head was an assist for Ayunga’s second. As you say perhaps we’ve got some options as well with Daly who I think is a good player. UTG!

Before last night I couldn't understand the comments about ayunga? You could see signs in the game time he has had, the bloke is an absolute beast! The number of headers he had won before last night, just need someone to play off him. The first half against Charlton you could see the defenders were beginning to struggle against him, quality defenders at that. Against posh he showed some quality touches and loved it when one defender tried to muscle him off the ball and just bounced off him. There is definitely more to come from this guy, he still looks a bit off the pace at times, I expect he's still looking for full match fitness. But what a useful player to have, if defenders are concentrating on him because of his presence, think of the gaps it could leave for us to exploit.

His goals were great last night both excellent finishes. I was particularly impressed by a few of his runs where he powered past opponents easily. He also won quite a few flick on in the air as well. I said when we signed him that he looks like he’s got all the attributes needed but was very raw. With the right coaching , patience & belief from fans and managers alike he could be a great player for us.

Correct he is but how many from open play and hasn't scored in 11/12 games. Ohhh you're a "penalties don't count" type of guy hey? No not at all I would just like my main striker to score goals at least with a better ratio than he has and to be honest 4 or 5 goals in open play in over 30 games is a pretty poor return. I make that around a 1 in every 6 games he has scored in open play and 1 in 4 overall. And he hasn't scored at all in at least 12 games now,all those stats are pretty poor and will lead you to relegation if it continues like that.

Its good news about Jonah, but the reality is if he gets injured we are in the poo. So, at least another striker. Meanwhile I see JCH already has 21.
