The unfortunate second half and this lucky goal of Washington should not make us forget we made a good match yesterday and were very close to get some more points. Again. Obviously the squad is getting confident, even if we make still the little error to make it not performing. The perfs will come i am confident; now we just must not let this keeper expulsion make doubting come. Get prepared for saturday. Problem is the team seems to have no resilience. when we are on the front foot we play really well but as soon as things start to go against us, and given our capacity for mistakes that is most games, we seem to crumble

Interesting to hear Barton say that there are many aspects of the football club that need overhauling in the summer.

What is the actual point of a linesman if they can't spot this as offside? Glad I hadn’t imagined this. Was starting to think I had.

Just really finding supporting Rovers is like torture at the moment. I really think we are going down, sorry to be a naysayer, but we are su gutless and vulnerable. Whenever we have the lead we give it away so easily - you can just feel the confidence of this team so low.
It’s just horrific supporting this club presently. I feel sorry for Wael. All his investment and training ground etc and we are heading for the 4th tier. We could be down there 10 years. It’s not an easy league to climb out of by any means.
Watching Rovers is like watching a team on FIFA when the run of play computer AI is against them. That free kick - I knew it was going in, I could see even the corner it was going.
It’s just inevitable, it feels like it.

What is the actual point of a linesman if they can't spot this as offside? A player can only be offside if the pass is from their own team, can't they? As Kilgour made the pass, Washington was not offside? Edit: sorry, didn't see Gulfs reply already.

I guess it must have been Kilgour if the players didn’t remonstrate. But it could have been either going by the footage.
On the highlights the day decision looks a bit iffier too. Day seems to mark himself to a spot and Aneke seems to fly into him. Bit less clear cut that but refereeing at our level is based on the referees eye - you can’t blame him for the decision he made.

Had to log off last night. Too predictable. But again I see we have enough to get out of this. BUT
we are fast running out of games and fast running out of fit players.
We have to win the next two games and we definitely can.

It’s just inevitable, it feels like it. I thought after the Wigan game that we were too poor to stay up, and I`ve not seen anything since to make me change my mind. The Accrington win was great to watch, but I had no confidence that it would result in a sustained uptick in form, and one point from the following two games confirmed my fears. I was delighted with Barton`s appointment, but seven points from a possible twenty one is desperately disappointing.
However, I don`t believe anything is inevitable, and I just hope that Barton manages to get our strikers scoring and our defenders conceding fewer goals, or failing that, that there are four worse teams than us, come the end of the season. It`s the hope that kills you. UTG!!

I would like to think that with this long run of two games a week coming to an end soon that this may benefit us. Maybe I am clutching at straws but for this high pressing game JB wants to play (which we do well first half before tiring) you think think it would work better once we go back to playing once a week? The odd week game once a month or so is fine but we have been playing twice a week since the start of the year.

I know I should know better, but I let myself believe after Upson's goal that our season was finally changing for the better. Charlton had just lost their manager and we had taken advantage of the insuing turmoil. Sadly though our second goal seemed to galvanize Charlton and they grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated play from that moment, we could not get back into the game. I went into the game expecting nothing, but having an unlikely victory dangled in front of me only to have it snatched away really hurts.

Fair enough, I thought it was the Charlton players header. I stand corrected. Still the linesman fault though

I stand corrected. Still the linesman fault though I think that Aneke wins that header clean from Kilgour and Washington is offside. Ive watched the replay and Aneke out jumps Kilgour by about half a foot. If Alfie had gotten a touch there is no way the trajectory of that ball would go into Washingtons path.

Listening to JB’s interview I think the team are starting to knock the stuffing out of him already. He’s also commenting on the squad we have now so I guess he’s just confirming what we know that the team squad in its entirety isn’t good enough. If the management team lose the enthusiasm and confidence then I think that’s it, we’re toast. I also got the impression that he thinks it's going to be hard to keep us up as we keep making stupid mistakes and the squad is not good enough. Really impressed with JB tho,the way he talks, acts and trys to get us playing and attacking. Our performances have improved a lot since he has come in, but we have an unbalanced squad and players making stupid errors each game which he can't changed right now. If we had somehow had appointment JB when we appointed PT then I'm sure we would have 20 more points right now and be comfortable in mid table as JB would have brought in some new players in. Agree with that completely, just got to hope we can limp over the line!
