Trouble is a one goal lead is rarely enough at this level. Mistakes will be made at the back especially in these must win games where the pressure's on.
Even Prem defenders make howlers - Mings for Villa springs to mind.
Had we scored a second today it would have been game over. Northampton were that poor but were gifted the penalty.
Sadly, we haven't got enough up front to do any real damage or even play more of the game in the opponents half as the ball just doesn't stick.

Seen a couple of posts about ‘had we scored a 2nd’. Unless I remember differently Upsons our of the blue shot was the only real chance we had after scoring I believe? Whilst we were comfortable, we weren’t exactly pushing or knocking the door down for a 2nd goal IMO.
Overall a draw was a fair result, no one deserved to win that tbh. I do like Joey and think he’s the right man for us long term, but today his tactics were completely off. We do not have the skill or capability in that team to play counter attacking football.
We set up very negatively overall and every chance we had ended up being a hoof for someone to run onto.
Ironically though, our games against midtable teams instead of relegation rivals could work in our favour though. Just need to hope the others drop point with their games in hand.

Looked a soft penalty but would have been avoided had Baldwin headed the ball properly in the first place before being out muscled by the attacker. Very similar to his attempt at a header in the debacle that led to one of Ipswichs goals a couple of weeks ago. What idiot thought it was a good idea to let Millwall Tone leave...

I guess unless Baldwin grew a few inches he was always going to struggle, you just know Tom Davies would have had no issues. I'm not sure why it was suggested by R Bristol we "switched off" when Baldwin simply missed a clearance.

Tom Davies is injured again at Barrow and doubts over his fitness were the reason why he was allowed to go on loan. Not convinced he is as good as some are making out and certainly his injury recvord is not good.

I think our defence was at its best with him in it, however his injury problems make him virtually unemployable, shame and big loss.

And you want to keep Barrett who’s like Tom Davies injury prone and unfit,3 strikers who can’t score and sign 3 more how can we afford this?

He would say that, wouldn't he?
Northampton manager thinks ref was poor for not giving them a second penalty!? He gave them everything else when they went down like a sniper headshot...

I wonder how many of our players signed in the summer have relegation clauses in their contracts?

Noticed in Joeys Post match interview he mentioned about wages reductions if we get relegated He also mentioned about the treatment room,"Who knows what is going on in there and when they will be fit". This does not sound as if he has much confidence in the Medics. The madness referred to Baldwin appearing to mistime his attempt to head clear. Surely Baldwin had 2 options to either head for touch or let the striker continue and at least give Jaakola the chance to make a save. It was not clear if it was a penalty.

Having listened to the interview I thought JB was just saying that as he's not medically trained he just has to rely on their expertise to get players fit, and inform them when they are fit to play.

Ignoring his injury concerns he was a decent defender for us, not sure why his ability, rather than his fitness, is being questioned. Although like Craig, why didn't we sign a decent replacement rather than go for the cheaper/younger option in Baldwin.

On paper, Baldwin sounded a decent signing. 27 years old, 200 plus appearances and bought by Posh for £1/2m before being sold on to Sunderland.

Pathetic excuse for a defender, along with the rest of his cronies. How many truly decent goals have we let in this season? The answer is,very few, most of them have been down to Rubbish defenders.
