That's nothing like what he said. He said, 'there have been managers in the past who put their faith and trust completely in players they have known for a while and I think that's where it went wrong because we were relying on that trust and faith in a certain player to come through and in the end it didn't. then showed a picture of tisdale! You read it your way I'll read it mine At no point (in the interview I watched anyway) did Wael say that Tisdale thought our players would deliver. He basically just suggested that Tisdale was relying on signing Jaydon Stockley (ie. the player he had known for a while) and it never happened.

He is talking about Tis not being able to sign a player who he thought would sign for him, not Tis standing by players who were already here.

Wallys just been on points west, basically said tisdale thought our strikers could deliver and he took his word for it,to me wallys to nice a guy to in charge, hopefully I'm wrong. I think it’s massive disrespectful to refer to Wael as Wally.

Thanks KP. Wael basically saying Tisdale wanted a striker(s) that he knew but it didn’t end up happening. Either the rumour about us basically putting all our eggs in the Stockley basket is true or they’re throwing Tisdale under the bus. It does look unlikely Widdrington will be here if Barton stays. I wonder whether Wael wants to keep him on in the short term in case Barton gets a custodial sentence?

Yeah that’s what I took from it, it’s unlikely that TW stays if Barton sticks around, however it’s not completely certain that Barton will stick around himself, hence Wael wanting to stay tight lipped on the matter. You’d of thought we need this resolved one way or the other fairly soon, as we’ll need to get on with making plans for next season.

No one in our club knows what a plan is, unless it keeps them in a job, wankers all of them.

I’m certainly guilty of peddling that Gaschat fact. However when I say it, it’s not that he didn’t literally try. It’s because as an outsider he didn’t try hard enough. Putting aside what anyone has said for a minute about what actually happened, the cold hard facts are that he didn’t sign anyone. All we needed was a pair of loanees from a premier league club or free agents looking to make an impression. A roll of the dice. We weren’t expecting Jonson Clarke Harris. We were expecting a Tyler Smith, Dom Telford or Alex Jakubiak. Just some players to have a go. What I’ve heard from a reliable source backs that up too. I do get that, but again - "didn't try hard enough" - no one knows how hard the guy tried. What's more likely is that nobody wanted to come to a shambles of an outfit that was on a horrendous run of form and would probably be playing L2 football next season; even Prem/Championship teams might have thought twice about sending youngsters in to an environment like that. Don't get me wrong - I understand the chain of thought and it may well actually be correct. But the rhetoric always seems to be along the lines of PT not trying hard enough or not wanting someone when there's only so much the bloke can do. I mean, you'll have several "groups" of players: - Too good, not interested - Interested, not enough money for their wages - Interested, not enough money for their transfer fee - Interested and technically doable but gazumped by another team - All good, signs on the dotted line Considering we were reportedly close to our wage cap, it was January and - to top it off we looked like we'd potentially be in L2 next year - and I don't think it was ever going to be a case of "we want someone so we'll get someone". I mean, in hindsight we probably should have just signed ANYONE. But given the mantra was to only improve on what we've got (understandably you could argue at that point in time), signing either a proven goalscorer or a very, very promising young talent - it's no wonder we struggled. January + proven goalscorer = serious money. And very, very promising young talent + team in horrendous form = less attractive than other teams likely to be interested. I think Tisdale clearly wanted to improve the striking options and so logically surely he'd do all he could to do so?? I mean why wouldn't he? It cost him his job, our L1 status.... I can't believe a man of his experience wasn't that fussed. Yes, about right. Good post RD. In a nutshell the idea we wanted a striker may be the only thing we can say. The chain of command we can talk about but not know and in the end I can’t imagine Tis didn’t try and get one. He must have known if we didn’t then relegation was a likelihood. That we didn’t get one may be the fault of many people but I bet they never own up! UTG!

Or, the programme edited the piece to make it look as if he is sticking Tisdale under the bus, by placing his face after the comments. You just never know with this club

I read it as PT believed JS was coming. He didn’t. Whoever is to blame, there is complete mismanagement there - firstly to put all our eggs in one basket and 2, even if we did get our man, to assume that one player would be the answer (what if he got injured? Or lost form?). We needed more than one attacking player and didn’t get any.

Read to me like Tommy Widderington will be taking a sideways move or will be moving on to pastures new.

But it's okay for one poster to call them all wankers and you say nothing? Sorry which posts are we discussing? If we mean Tommy W or Martyn Starnes, or two of our most recent managers, then you’ll have a hard time finding me come to their defence. Maybe calling them wankers is a bit harsh, but I’m not going to spend a second defending them. I get you didn’t want to cause offence to Wael and it was likely intended as good natured humour but Wally is often used in an unpleasant way to describe someone. Wael might have made some daft decisions but he’s done a hell of a lot of good for the club. So I’m going to challenge what I see. To be clear though, you’re most definitely not being moderated here.
