There's a little unfinished business to tidy up. Firstly, we have to complete the remaining league fixtures despite their complete irrelevance to us. Secondly we need to ascertain whether Barton is managing us next season. I hope he is but that matter will initially be decided by a court of law.
If Barton is in charge for next season TW's position would appear untenable.

The article in the BP post today says Garner wanted to sign Piggot from Wimbledon but the club messed around and missed out.
If that’s the case then Widdrington and Starnes should go!

Where is that called out, I read this quote Starnes was engaged in the transfer discussions for Jayden Stockley, Tisdale's primary target, but lengthy negotiations with Preston North End chief Peter Ridsdale were in vain, with the player choosing to move to Charlton Athletic instead.

Bristol Live understands he also pushed for the signing of another striker following Clarke-Harris' exit, namely AFC Wimbledon's talisman Joe Pigott who was available for a relatively modest transfer fee having entered the final year of his contract at Plough Lane. By the time that approach was approved, the striker had made an electric start to the season and the cost of a potential deal with the player and his representatives skyrocketed. But how Rovers could have used a 20-goal striker like him this season.

However, Garner was unfortunate to miss out on some transfer targets, with Jordan Clark and Ebou Adams among near misses. Bristol Live understands he also pushed for the signing of another striker following Clarke-Harris' exit, namely AFC Wimbledon's talisman Joe Pigott who was available for a relatively modest transfer fee having entered the final year of his contract at Plough Lane.

Direct link for those that don’t want to have to go iplayer. Sounds unequivocal to me: BG trusted players to come through, and they failed PT kept the trust, didn't get JS through the door TW getting a one way ticket over the summer

I thought he only wanted 3, if so, Ayunga was probably signed instead, although who's to say Piggot would have been any better than Ehmer or Westbrook, given that they both looked decent signings until they arrived at tobacco town.

Anyone know who the players using snus are and how long it's been going on at Rovers. Seems a really odd thing and I cant believe Coughlan would have allowed it so assume it was a player signed post Coughlan?

I think some people are correct in that TW and his team will provide a list of players and then it's up to the manager to pick or not pick them, but PT should have picked someone rather than no one. I feel in January a head of recruitment and DOF he should have made the signing of a striker whether PT wanted them or not as it doesn't take a genius to work out we needed at least one That reeks of a fallout between TW and PT. Maybe WAQ should go for a simpler structure with an old-style God type manager. WAQ does like to have paid up enforcers to do his dirty work and the leg work in hiring and firing. Maybe he should invest more of his own time on these matters. Wael tried to come up with a plan to make the club sustainable and failed, putting the club in a worse position than before. He has had the decency to stump up his own money to remedy this fact. There may be other clubs getting into financial trouble through gambling and losing as we did, but at least Wael has taken financial responsibility for his mistake.

Getting back to widdrington - I don’t want to be in any way nasty and vindictive towards him - he just made a very poor job of assembling a squad that was able to play as a team . Fact - if JB stays widdrington job is untenable,. Utg 💙🙁 I agree , I can’t think how they can both stay after Barton said that whoever thought that this squad was built properly and would do well is deluded. Or words to that effect , I can’t remember his exact words. If it’s TW or Barton to go then I hope it’s TW I’ve got nothing personal against the bloke he seems like a nice enough chap but like Barton said he got it so wrong and I also think Barton needs final say on everything regarding who we sign. We don’t want to start next season with another unbalanced squad with no leaders because if we do it’s conference here we come.

Direct link for those that don’t want to have to go iplayer. I don’t like to blame BUT.. I think this is very poor form from him & there are hundreds of transfers that fall, at the last hurdle. We could go back to the Taylor transfer & talk about whose fault it was but we really need to stop this and truly understand why we have been relegated and not got any progress on a stadium, especially when we had our first ever B2B promotions & had the best inertia that I’ve known, in my time of supporting rovers. So, anyway, Joseph is on another level and knows football inside and out. There we have it folks.
