I c somebody has posted on Facebook that Tommy is stepping up to CEO to replace Martin Starnes anybody heard anything about this Someone also posted on Facebook that the earth is flat, Elvis is still alive and get this. There are people posting on Facebook that genuinely support Bristol C*ty! It’s full of mentally deranged lunatics! Utter bullshit. Surely no one supports those wankers.

How are we going to change a squad within FFP or whatever it’s called , when we have, I think, 8 of Garners players on contract and how will he deal with a budget that will not be close to his Fleetwood one ? Fleetwood are run very much better than us yet Joseph left, leaving them with 6 million of debt. There is some interesting reading from Fleetwood now. No idea that’s for the boardroom and the manager to sort out. But I do know that Coughlan changed a squad that was lacking in leadership organisation and confidence in to a side that was strong confident and fairly successful with just a few changes in the right areas. Plus we had a fair few other L1 clubs say that we were a good and hard to beat team, we had some fight and spirit. I have to add though, that I was one of his detractors as I found games dull but I’d love to have that dullness back, right now. I could understand the parting of ways and because our attendances were poor but I’d have never ever envisaged such a drastic change of tac. It’s been one error after another. It seems we are now entering yet another change of tac. We will have to see what this does but I am not, one bit, confident in this decision.

LOL No, I mean the "What did the Romans ever do for us" scene from "Life of Brian" As in: So, apart from restoring the confidence of the team, avoiding relegation, signing JCH and taking us to 4th in the league, what did Graham Coughlin ever do for Rovers? Looking very likely we'll get over £2m in transfer fees + promotion bonus/sell on clauses for JCH. Yeah I guess Widdrington should be applauded for that....

At a point where it finally looked like he had won over the rest of the fanbase, he set himself up for another job with THAT interview. I still wonder why he couldn't have done another 5 months and see where it led to, considering he had spent a decade down south already by that point. If he had finished the job he may had better clubs after him in the summer than Mansfield. I personally enjoyed the results far more than the performances, but it is a results business.

Just heard Boris is going and Tommy to be new PM . Keep it quiet though 🤫 I heard the same. Apparently he’s ordered 12 vaccine shots and said that’s plenty to get us through the winter season and anyone who says otherwise doesn’t appreciate what we’ve already got in the building.

Possibly brinkmanship to see how far he could push Wael regarding an increased playing budget and a better look term contract, but it back fired on him when Wael let him join Mansfield?

Just heard Boris is going and Tommy to be new PM . Keep it quiet though 🤫 That’s just silly. Anyone truly itk is aware that TW is going to be CEO, JB is going to be Director of Football and MS is going to be the first team manager.

Yes, on the couple of times I watched GC Rovers totally gobsmacked by the football we played to win the game. Sort of the opposite of this season where we play decent football and lose everytime. GC got Rovers doing God knows what but winning every time.

Yeah I guess Widdrington should be applauded for that.... personally , I would find it difficult to applaud him for anything right now ! Utg 💙 It’s been written on GasChat before that JCH signing was set up by Coughlan as he knew him from Southend. Helped perhaps by TW and Coventry links but Evil Post ran a story on JCH saying how JCH had been told at Southend by GC that he was good enough to play in The Championship at least. He was convinced by GC to come to BRFC to be helped to get there. Also that GC only had a verbal contract to manage us, like many other things around that time the written confirmation wasn’t forthcoming. Quite a few heard that at a Blue Diamond lunch when GC was upset at having just been refused funds for 2 players “to push for promotion”.

Sounded to me like his mind had already been made up and that interview was his direct escape route. Wael let Garner sign players in January so not sure why GC would have been told otherwise re signings?

So the Coronal has submitted his review of the club's structure and Joey speaks to Wael this evening about it.
Why is Joey not discussing the report with Starnes or TW.
Seems Joey only deals with the organ-grinder.

I remember now one of the crafty things that CG did was to not bring all 10 men back to defend but would keep 2 attackers on the half way line.
So there used to be minutes of nail biting, face covering defence then someone would hoof it up for both the attackers to run onto and often as not have a good scoring opportunity.
Simple, but effective, but not attractive!
