I understand there will be a press conference this week, known source, would seem reliable but as in Line of duty have to protect them. You are putting your head above the parapet in saying anything at all. Fair play to you as I wouldn’t do that anymore.

Getting back to widdrington - I don’t want to be in any way nasty and vindictive towards him - he just made a very poor job of assembling a squad that was able to play as a team . Fact - if JB stays widdrington job is untenable,. Utg 💙🙁 I agree , I can’t think how they can both stay after Barton said that whoever thought that this squad was built properly and would do well is deluded. Or words to that effect , I can’t remember his exact words. If it’s TW or Barton to go then I hope it’s TW I’ve got nothing personal against the bloke he seems like a nice enough chap but like Barton said he got it so wrong and I also think Barton needs final say on everything regarding who we sign. We don’t want to start next season with another unbalanced squad with no leaders because if we do it’s conference here we come. How are we going to change a squad within FFP or whatever it’s called , when we have, I think, 8 of Garners players on contract and how will he deal with a budget that will not be close to his Fleetwood one ? Fleetwood are run very much better than us yet Joseph left, leaving them with 6 million of debt. There is some interesting reading from Fleetwood now.

The rules before the League One and League Two salary cap was scrapped are outlined here: www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.php"FL Turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity. Loans from club owners are understandably not included in the Turnover figure as these would result in growing up club debts. In League 1 and League 2, a wealthy owner can therefore fund the club spending in a way that is not permitted in other divisions"

I’d normally agree socrates and have said elsewhere we need to stick with Barton but the huge elephant in the room is the court case. If JB gets sent down even for a matter of weeks we would then find ourselves without a HoR and a manager. Who would do the stuff that needs doing in those circumstances? Starnes? God help us. Hate saying it but I think we’ll be waiting around until the legal decision is made and then do everything very quickly, whatever happens! What a total mess this has all become. UTG!

Perhaps Barton could have his own head of recruitment, I don’t like the idea of two very different people who perhaps don’t get on doing the negotiations between them anyway , sounds like a recipe for disaster.

No idea that’s for the boardroom and the manager to sort out. But I do know that Coughlan changed a squad that was lacking in leadership organisation and confidence in to a side that was strong confident and fairly successful with just a few changes in the right areas.

He sold us a dead parrot? wrong sketch yet weirdly right LOL No, I mean the "What did the Romans ever do for us" scene from "Life of Brian" As in: So, apart from restoring the confidence of the team, avoiding relegation, signing JCH and taking us to 4th in the league, what did Graham Coughlin ever do for Rovers?

Looking very likely we'll get over £2m in transfer fees + promotion bonus/sell on clauses for JCH.

When DC left we had around £18m debts so Fleetwood only having £6m of debt whilst reaching the playoffs doesn't seem a bad result!!

There are people posting on Facebook that genuinely support Bristol C*ty! It’s full of mentally deranged lunatics!

But, was it mainly because of DC , no need to answer but the way as it’s obviously rhetorical. If interested read the last Fleetwood presser as you can then make your own mind up as to who was responsible for the bulk of that debt , this figure was for the year previous so no one yet knows what it was, up until Joseph parted company with them.
