Shame cuz I thought he was showing hints of being a creative player earlier in the season. Obviously struggling now but he is pretty young. Bit like the situation Harrison and Santos were in last year really.

Not a great result for us and we could have used a favour from Torquay, but they shot themselfs in the foot. The only difference between us and Barnet apart from nine points is goals it's also the reason we can't catch them. I think playoffs are now our most likely route to the league unless Barnet f**k up spectacularly.

The trouble is we need goals to win the play offs, but we have invested in strikers and they need time to adjust, hope not too much though.

DC in Radio Bristol interview Well that just about sums him up. What summed him up was turning this club around after the worst season in our history. Get off his back ffs, he's doing a great job at the moment!

A neutral might say the great job is being done by John Ward's defence of Mildenhall, Lockyer, McChrystal, Parkes and Brown. Darrell Clarke's midfield and attack seem to be the problem at the moment. That's not being negative but IMO honest. And the hallmark of our last four seasons of failure has been an unwillingness to make an honest assessment of our strengths and weaknesses.

With the exception of Smith being the right back, you have called it just about spot on.

Clarke was obviously in charge at the end of the season, BUT in charge of a bunch of feckless useless barstewards who clearly weren't interested in playing for oour club, in now way culpable for what happened. I will not deny the players were not good enough, and some of them did not seem interested, but as I said it was Clarke that got us in to this league, we were not in a relegation position when he took the job but were when the season finished. It was his fault.John Ward was not here so can not be blamed. I'm with tbone on this I must admit. If JW had hung on 8 more games I don't think we would have been relegated. I'm convinced Ward felt he'd done enough and I did too, yet somehow we f**ked it up. That said I think DC is doing ok, but clearly we need to improve. I've said all season, its midfield creativity that's our problem, not our strikers.

I agree that our midfield don't create anywhere near as much as we would like, but our strikers have missed glorious opportunities in a lot of matches. One striker in particular has been a prolific misser of straightforward chances.

Mansell, Sinclair and LDV are top players though Sinclair works harder than any player I've ever seen but how many times has he opened a defence or had a shot on target? That's not his game. Mansell and Clarke are samey players. Grafters, ball winners but neither are creative enough. Martin isn't doing it, Monkhouse hasn't fully convinced, and Gosling..... I like Taylor but he needs lots of chances to get a goal. We don't create chances, therefore he can't score.

Taylor needs more chances to score than he should. That's why he is with us not a L1 team. His all round game is good. His strike rate to chances is poor. If we create more he will score more.
