Did the US sanctioned mass opium production trickle down to the Afghans? Or did the corrupt government keep the left over cash? It's already been reported that many Afghans welcomed back the Taliban as they were fed up with government corruption, and the Afghan president is accused of fleeing with £123m state funds. The brutal Taliban actually prohibited opium production in 2000, only for the US to invade and ramp up production to unseen levels? Have to wonder if the Chinese will still be interested in opium after what the English did to China in the 1800's? Opium was one of the few lucrative crops grown in Afghanistan, it's what kept local farmers going. Is anything not the fault of the US, UK or the West in general? Has the Soviet Union or China done anything wrong? In the meantime stories of retribution are filtering out. well that's a complex question... but the fact is that the West, UK, USA, Europe have invaded/sanctioned most of the World in recent times, and still do to many countries. The West = Christian values... how the hell is killing millions upon millions of innocent people Christian. Struggle to say the same for the so-called socialist countries out there. |

Opium was one of the few lucrative crops grown in Afghanistan, it's what kept local farmers going. Is anything not the fault of the US, UK or the West in general? Has the Soviet Union or China done anything wrong? In the meantime stories of retribution are filtering out. well that's a complex question... but the fact is that the West, UK, USA, Europe have invaded/sanctioned most of the World in recent times, and still do to many countries. The West = Christian values... how the hell is killing millions upon millions of innocent people Christian. Struggle to say the same for the so-called socialist countries out there. Mao's famine and Stalin's purges not ring a bell, for example? If we are linking deaths from historical Christianity with the modern day West then we really are talking at crossed purposes. |

I don't care if it's owned by a Tory, labour or her majesty the Queen. It's like asking 3 Rovers fans after the Mansfield and Stevenage games if they thought they would be relegated. Guess it will depend on those nice folk the Taliban. There are suggestions of a land border crossing and that commercial flights are still to be allowed. The latter is dependent on capable staff to run the airport, though. It may need to involve some regional countries such as Pakistan to help. |

Firstly they would never use that small a sample but also they don't just ask the primary question and scale the answers up to the wider group....they'd know/ask the demographics of the specific people they are polling and know the demographics of the wider group they are sampling. It's incredibly scientific, regularly updated and it turns out to usually be pretty accurate.... |
