Big Kev, if I may be so bold as to describe him so, is an absolute gentleman and I'm sad to read that he has left the forum. It seems to me that the last couple of years or so has taken its toll on all of us - Covid, awful performances from the team, poor club managers at the helm, awful results on the pitch, etc etc. My personal opinion is that our current manager is having a toxic impact on all of us and he is affecting the image of our club in a way that I am struggling to want to be part of. Me too. We have become a horrible group since Garner took over and that's been made much worse by Barton. I only read the What's for dinner thread now. I genuinely no longer care about Rovers. Yeah Hugo I think I’m in the same boat and will probably take a step back for a while. I used to love posting on this place, but recently it’s become harder and harder to do and I find my passion for the club on the wane. More than any one poster on here, I think it’s symptomatic of the way things have gone with the club over the last 18 months and the tension that has brought with it. The What’s for dinner thread always brightens my day though, anyone who’s new around here, definitely go check it out.

I am a lifelong gasheads, and some of the posters on here should be ashamed, everyone has their own opinions, respect them don't abuse them even if you disagree, I very rarely post, as one of the first I posted I was accused of being a kiddie fiddler, just because of my user name, unbelievable Geoff. I get your point but I nearly spat my tea out ref the kiddie fiddler comment , that is hilarious 😂

Sorry Warehamgas but I don't entirely agree. Winning would be great and I would be very pleased if we were but I don't think things will look better until JB has gone. As a personality he has divided opinion on here like no other appointment we have had. When he was appointed there were those that were avidly against the appointment and those prepared to put his character and criminal behaviour aside and give him a chance. Now of course because of his poor results record a lot that were happy to overlook his flaws are turning against him purely because of the football which appears to be compounding the division. Sean, you don’t have to agree. 😉 Thats the joy of a forum, we can disagree, which was part of my point, where we will have lots of opinions. We don’t have to agree but I hope we can disagree without the name-calling, insults and worse and do so with respect. Just like you have. 👍 But I think I’m right about this place getting better with better results, hence it reflects how BRFC are doing. And I do agree with your point regarding JB. But, tbh, I wasn’t wanting to go over old ground about JB being our manager. Enough has been said and I can’t add anything which hasn’t already been posted. So we have to wait now for the results of the court cases and then move on whichever way. But to an extent I think we saw the “divided opinions” with BG and Tis. Both through sheer frustration at giving up a top of league 1 position to where we are now. This division is not new with JB, just made far worse. UTG! Growing up I was always proud to be a Gashead and always loved our managers from Megson (first one I really remember) to Harrold, from David Williams to Bobby Gould. Never did I ever want to lose a manager. The first one I questioned was Martin Dobson but he was always going to be on a hiding to nothing coming after Jerry left. I then fell out with Atkins, Graydon and Buckle but I never felt any of those divided opinion as I think most Gasheads were on the same page with all of them. I was not really aware that BG and Tisdale really divided opinion but that maybe because I was neither disappointed or delighted by their appointments and didn't notice the division or contribute much to any threads on the subject. As you say enough said already about JB

Kev, not the first time you have vanished. Greg’s tells me you vanished on the FFSC night out. Not sure of the circumstances but he did mention something about it being your round!
Come back soon, you will be missed.

I always liked the rule “Attack the post, not the poster”. It separated the forum from the cesspit that is the various Facebook groups.

I always liked the rule “Attack the post, not the poster”. It separated the forum from the cesspit that is the various Facebook groups. Agree. But do we really need to “attack” anything? Just disagree perhaps? I guess it fits onto the binary way nowadays when something is either completely right or completely wrong. Usually there are many shades of grey in between the two, or at least in my experience there are. UTG!

Gashead Blues (Kev) is a top bloke, clever, witty and very dignified Gashead. I hope you come back soon Kev, many of us enjoy reading your posts/opinions.
In the meantime look after yourself big man and those close to you. I look forward to sharing a drink with yourself and others sooner rather than later, hopefully at a sponsored game.
Best wishes buddy 👍

Without meaning to go all Piers Morgan here.... You fellas should have been around in 2007! My word this forum was hostile back then!
I remember one or two lads being quite literally bullied off of the forum by nasty gang of 3 or 4 who got very personal..
Despite the fact that it was only 15 or so years ago, it was a different landscape socially back then and most people (including the mods) just turned a blind eye to it. Mental wellbeing was not such a hot topic back then and in those days and people were able to say far more and get away with it. Thankfully things are very different these days and how people might perceive a comment is much more at the forefront in how (most) of us behave.. The downside to this is that people in this day and age do tend to take things far too seriously and the days of having a bit of banter are pretty much a thing of the past.
As I say, I am personally really pleased that mental health is so much more talked about these days and people are a little more careful how they treat their fella human in all walks of life, but the flipside of that is as I say, the tendency for people to take things a little too seriously and almost look for insults that perhaps are not even there in the first place.. Must add the caveat here that I am not accusing the OP (or his mate) of the above, I do not know enough on the subject to pass comment.. Was more an observation on society in general.
PS - Anyone know if Joey B and the Roadman still knock about the forum?

This forums only been going for roughly 7 years mate, and no mater what view you have of the moderating, its fair to say its actually well moderated compared to the old official forum.... If we'd have these divisions and various meltdowns during the old OF days, lord knows what would have happened.... Anyway.... There's gregsy's take on trying to make a bad situation better....

When I say 'this' forum, I of course mean the previous incarnations of this forum..
And imo this one is a far less divisive place these days compared to back then..

Due to covid and being away the other weekend, this Saturday is my first home game of the season. Although due to the 10km on Sunday I will be fairly quiet and not on my normal (inebriated) form - UTG

While this awful form continues there will be more arguments on here, if we were top of the league there would still be arguments but to a lesser degree.
I find the whole thing quite depressing, and am overjoyed that little Arch has a game Saturday afternoon 😂😂

I feel the tensions on this forum are just symptomatic of a deeper malaise at the club. There are long term, loyal Gasheads on here saying they aren't interested in Rovers at the moment. There's the dispute with the supporter's club (whatever the cause),the apparent lack of progress on the stadium etc etc Is it in part because there are no dyed in the wool Rovers people at the heart of decision making anymore or perhaps just a lack of competence or challenge?

Some people take this forum a bit too seriously imo. Surely it’s never been intended to be a place for sensible reasoned Rovers chat??
