He’s full of sh** . He won’t use nukes as he’ll know it’s his own death warrant and probably wouldn’t be allowed to anyway . All they do got is bluff & bluster . If I’m wrong and we’re all nuked …. I don't think he'll use them, at least not yet. It's not the intercontinental missiles he'd use anyway, they'll be the smaller one. The plebiscites would give him legal authority to use conscripts and reserves which he can't at the moment, he can only use contracted soldiers, volunteers and the Private Military Companies. Hence the captured soldier who was actually a redeployed sailor. The thing we need to be concerned about is that Putin has established a kleptocracy which means he can't just retire, he's a dead man walking once he leaves office which in turn means he'll double down on the war. He's stuck between assassination or losing. He has to be seen to win or he's dead, one way or another. He's got nothing to lose if not. And that's my worry,if he's got nothing to lose then there's nothing to hold him back.

No-one holds their grip on country like Russia for so long like he's done without rationality. Perhaps he'll lose it as he gets older and more desperate, I guess that's the worry.

Some truly mind boggling bollox coming out of Russia in the last couple of days. Re the partial mobilisation.Russkies (according to them of course)have suffered less than 6000 fatalities, while Ukraine have lost more than half of their ground forces,so why the hell do they have to draft 300,000 more people in to this non war situation? Makes perfect sense though eh. These totally bogus referendums that are coming up shortly in Donetsk and Luhansk, will mean that after they are ‘voted’ in,Ukrainians can then be drafted to fight against err Ukraine.Absolutely marvellous what these Russians believe they can get away with.

Russia annexes regions of Ukraine. Putin looks like he’s giving a speech in North Korea as his people clap their great leader.

He is deluded and so appear to be many of his people, although there weren't many happy faces in the audience as he spouted his mistruths

It's fascinating that the Russian government has all the traits of a right wing fascist government whilst espousing to be a left wing for the people socialist government.

Things going from bad to worse for Russia, could be another big win for Ukraine soon on top of the last few days.
After the recent incidents with Nordstream, Norway is getting a little twitchy about their oil and gas facilities.
We've just announced (actually reannounced) that we will order two specialist ships to monitor our own offshore infrastructure.

Did you read the hard-line Chechen leader is advocating Russia uses a "low radiation" nuclear weapon if they continue to lose ground, what would our response need to be if that happens,it can't be left unchallenged but all the potential options are lose lose.

He's sending his teenage children to fight, isn't he? I remember he tweeted praying near a petrol station earlier in the war, problem was that particular company had no forecourts in Ukraine. Dangerous I know, but I wouldn't take him too seriously. Having said that, the idea of using smaller battlefield nuclear weapons can't be dismissed. If Putin did, it will need a strong, united response. What that means in practical terms......I'm glad I'm not making that decision. 😶

These things get moved frequently as part of the defence posture, this is just sabre rattling or misinterpretation. (It's the ones we don't see that matter😉)

Impressive attack on the Crimean bridge if it was Ukraine.
In the meantime "Russia has appointed a new commander to lead its troops in Ukraine. Sergei Surovikin is a veteran commander known for leading Russian forces in Syria and was accused of overseeing the decimation of the city of Aleppo."
So even more devistation coming.

Ukraine did well to bring down over half of the cruise missiles. Just pure spite, though.

Yep a thoroughly despicable man and as for their media delighting in missle attacks on playgrounds ..,,see Germany are at last getting their digit out and supplying very sophisticated anti missile systems.
