One thing I do give Boris credit for is Ukraine. He's over meeting Trump at the moment. "Boris Johnson has posted on X that he has just met the presidential candidate who was "on top form after the shameful attempt on his life". He says he discussed Ukraine with him - interesting in light of his running mate choice, who has spoken out against giving the country more funding to fight its war with Russia. Mr Johnson adds: "I have no doubt that [Mr Trump] will be strong and decisive in supporting that country and defending democracy." " I have low confidence,Trump and his running mate are by nature isolationist.

10 years ago today, Flight MH17 was shot down by a Russian BUK missile. Nearly 300 killed. A shameful episode left unpunished.

A shameful compromise which we wouldn't accept so why should Ukraine as an independent Sovereign Country accept, just encourages aggression. Not only that, it'll just be a pause, allowing Russia to reset itself before Ukraine formally joins Nato. What price the usual suspects drag their heels, plus would Russia go for it in view it's one of the key reasons they invaded in the first place.

Agree Stuart,do we learn nothing from our recent European history, appeasing aggressors encourages them it never discourages them. As for Putin ,would give him an out and because of his total control of the media he can put whatever spin he wants on it,he will rearm and come again.

Looks like the F16s are coming along and could be publicly operational soon.
Crews will be in limited numbers yo start with and operating bases will be targeted.
They won't be a game changer in themselves, but a very helpful and critical addition.

Hopefully Ukraine can make the most of their success, whatever their aims are.
In the meantime, "A woman has been jailed in Russia for 12 years after she gave £40 to a charity supporting Ukraine.
US-Russia citizen Ksenia Karelina was accused of treason when she was arrested in Yekaterinburg, in southwestern Russia, in February.
Investigators searched her mobile phone and found that she made a $51.80 (£40) donation to Razom, a charity that provides aid to Ukraine, on the first day of Russia's invasion."

My only concern is they extend to far and get encircled however, visibility of troop movements is much more transparent these days . As for the poor women getting a bit like that here 🤭🤭

From Twitter:
"A great joke from Russia: Putin, after 10 days of Kursk catastrophe, summons Stalin’s ghost : Stalin: “What’s happened?” Putin: “Nazis are at Kursk! My army is beaten! What should I do?” Stalin: “Do like me 1943. Send best Ukrainian troops to the front, and ask the US for arms!” "

Agreed that would be the logical train of thought however ,Putin is not logical and surely if he comes to the table after a Ukrainian incursion he looks weak and it's the beginning of the end. Can't rule out he will do something catastrophic!!

Can't rule out he will do something catastrophic!! Reports coming in that Ukraine are destroying bridges in the area to hamper Russian reinforcements. Maybe they'll be utilising the natural defences and consolidate their gains. I think they are trying to regain the initiative and possibly undermine or embarrass Putin into making mistakes. Maybe even create tensions within the Russian high command.

Perhaps too far away to encircle and attack Donbas from the rear. Whatever the intention, it's ballsy! Good luck to them.

There`s a photo on the front page of The Sunday Times, of Russian soldiers captured by Ukrainian forces, in the recent battles on Russian soil. Honestly, they`d struggle to get served in any pub in the UK. Just kids.

Putin and his acolytes won't worry until St Petersburg and Moscow are directly affected.
