Just got home, what a day! What a performance. Was chatting to Vale fans on way back to car who said we were best team they have seen for a long time, along with Swindon!! They were not confident given their run in. We are the team in form, amazing! What a weekend we’ve had. So excited for Saturday. ST renewed

Whoever thought that Nicholson would be sitting on the bench for us in L2. Crazy really. Crazy that he played better last season, a division above, in an absolute joke of a team. Fascinating to see how players have come in and out of form this season. We were chatting on way home about how sh**e we thought Coutts was for example, and Nicho and Grant were highlights of the team only a few months ago. And Collins only a few games ago. Got to praise Joey for the way he has developed the squad to have such depth. Really catches teams out I think. First class

Not long back home.
One of the truly great Rovers away ends, terrible first 2mins but faultless thereafter. Another side like Northampton that had to resort to the monster long throw to try and break us, to no avail!
Some scenes at the death when Lofty did what I previously predicted & chipped in a hugely important goal for his Rovers first! Utter chaos!
Bring on FGR, nothing to fear and another 3 points up for grabs.

All round excellent performance and not much I can add other than what’s been said. Cracking day out and rounded of long weekend nicely. UTG!
Cherry on top of the cake for me was as I was walking back to the car a vale fan was calling rovers fans every name under the sun
A gas head says excuse me mate you’ve dropped something, as he looked down he said 3 points mate
Quality! Vale fan stormed off telling rovers fans to suck his n*b
Charming man!!
Gas head if your reading this, fair play! Kept us laughing for most the evening.

Is this the longest match day thread this season, most of the longer match day threads are due to meltdowns after poor results lol Makes a pleasant change to read positive stuff for 27 pages 👏👏👏👏

great performance and fantastic atmosphere. We played very well in the first half and battled in the second half, with Taylor and Connolly outstanding. Coutts' performance was as good as I've seen from a Rovers player for a long time. One caveat, Coutts was a bit fortunate not to be sent off, just before half-time, when he dived in to a tackle, with hos feet off the ground. The Ref was poor, but he could easily have given him a straight red, Particularly as Coutts was in his face all match. Still, as someone said, he's OUR mongrel. Onwatds and upwards.

Take that Robbie Earle (and Robbie Williams for that matter). The ghost has not been put to rest, but it will give me happier memories of that ground

Whatever you think of the opinions of others, insults are out of order and contrary to the rules of the forum. Keep it decent It's not a very good insult really because the first 3 letters of David spelt backwards are VAD. Indeed! Not GGMI’s finest post!! Unnecessary insult and actually wrong. Oh dear. UTG!

Just TWO factors to contemplate.
(1). The Valiant supporters would dearly love to have Bristol Rovers Number 15 on their team.
Does anybody know who that is?
(2). In the 43 league matches this season the FOUL count is illuminating.
Port Vale
Fouls against - 476.
Fouls committed - 486.
Bristol Rovers
Fouls against - 604. (EFL Highest)
Fouls committed - 465.
Today Vale players foul total of 16.
Gas players foul total of 7.
Can the truth get in the way of prejudice?

You’ve seen their forum as well then! 😉 Deluded perhaps but I guess all losing teams react in a similar way. I presumed that our No.15, who was in the ear of the ref all match must have learnt something from watching PV at our place in December when they did exactly the same thing. Oh well. UTG!

If you think our Manager and players will be taking any of our last three games lightly you are in cloud cuckoo land and don't have a clue about us. Do you actually attend games? The first 3 letters of David spelt backwards make up DIV, just saying.. The first three, backwards. Hmmm. Want to edit that

Seeing JB run towards the fans at the end punching the air was sublime and deeply moving. Yes saw that video on twitter, perhaps someone who knows how will kindly post it. Your wish etc....

Fair play to this lad whom captured and edited the goals very well...
Things to observe:
6.01 EA goal....from this angle, you can see how accurate and brilliant his strike actually is.
7.37 AE from this angle, amazing curling, dipping assist that is almost impossible to predict and defend against.
Also, if the away end holds 4.5k, it looks like we had more than half...
Fair play, a great day and result.

Really, really pleased for Ryan Loft. I know everyone else was just as outstanding but he needed to get off the mark and what a way to do it. Did someone say he was slow?
Up the Gas!

From their forum, a snippet of their fans think we (especially Coutts) coerced a poor ref, time wasted, were thugs, dark arts etc....some of their fans give credit for us playing best football and deserving a win, while others berate the non performance in a large crowd.
I thought they were decent on the day, created only one open play free flowing move that was dangerous, but looked more threatening on a set piece.....apart from those separate, unrelated incidents, I thought we were well worth our win and again played some brilliant one touch football.
I like PV. It's a working class area, an established club that often keep near where we are under the guise of bigger and (sometimes)better rivals, it can be intimidating.....all the aspects of a great atmospheric day out. But.....my thoughts are:
If they don't get their s together, get 3 mid fit, I can see them not even getting to Wembley, let alone contemplating promotion.
Walsall away, is a this division local derby for them and someone on their forum alluded to a bit of a bogey side.
Newport at home, on the Monday after everyone has played ramps up the pressure, and they're decent.
Exeter away, we know what that is all about as they're probably the strongest team we've played over 3 matches this season.
My point is: they're catchable. They run on empty with 3 key players out.
I see automatic 3rd place (as FGR and Exeter as 1&2) a contest between PV, Cobblers, us and Sutton.
Win 3 and we're up to 82 points.....if PV reach that, I'll be surprised, and they'll be rightly promoted by virtue of a superior goal difference.
......but it's all to play for.

The club’s match report says that the away attendance was 2222, so almost half and as JB said in his post match review “that’s a Premier League following”. UTG.

On highlights, reminded me of a gazelle! Started behind the space with their defender closer to the ball behind him, then he finds this pace out of nothing.
