I've had my 3 month check-up and heard the magic words "NO CANCER". Check ups every 3 months for the first two years, after which the chances of the cancer returning begin to diminish, so checks will be at longer intervals. I know that I'm so lucky, given the original prognosis, and very grateful for all the positivity from so many people, which spurred me on to fight this awful disease. UTG Wonderful news Tilly, best wishes.

Absolutely delighted to read and know this. Keep on keeping on. Certainly motivational to those of us who know the fear levels involved. Well done

Well pleased for you from a fellow cancer survivor I am having a CT scan with contrast this morning fingers crossed results usually takes two weeks Hope your scan went well yesterday. Just a thought why does it take so long to get the results? In January on holiday in NZ I suffered a seizure tombstoned backwards cracking my head open on the pavement. Next thing I knew I was in an ambulance on the way to hospital. They undertook a CT Scan and I had the results within a couple of hours. When back in France my doctor sent me for an MRI which I had last month. Within half an hour I had the results, a copy of the scans of my head all in a folder plus it all transferred onto a cd disc (not sure why the disc). Just seems a long wait at a time which is stressful enough. Fingers crossed everything will be fine.🍻

He was sent straight to Southmead Hospital, given a CT scan within half an hour, and results were ready within three hours. I suppose it all depends on the urgency and severity of the case.

I frankly wonder if legal reasons come into this. The medics may wish to thoroughly check before making a diagnosis in case of repercussions. Say the wrong thing and they could have lawyers all over it.

Time is vital with strokes so even in these times they move quickly. There are meds that can help but need to be administered asap and some can be fixed by sending a wire up your arteries and unblock clotted arteries. If left too long the the damage (and time and costs to the NHS) worsens. In everyone’s interest to act fast as the adverts say.
